The food was really good, and they had a Gluten Free option for the bread. Ambiance was very relaxing and the music was good too. Service was met with a smile and very helpful when it came to explaining the menu or just questions in general. I will be recommending this place to anyone I know who passes through Weed, CA. Peach and Mango smoothie was amazing too. :) read more

Friendly customer service! Excellent cookies, croissants, & pastries. Spacious dining area with comfy chairs & tables.

We have always stopped here our way through Weed. Quality coffee and good service with internet!

Good service, amazing food, and great ambiance. I loved their coffee and hospitality.

Ellie's is a fun place to grab a bite to eat! I've only come in for breakfast but the staff is friendly & there is a clean/open seating area. I recommend the breakfast sandwich which always tastes fresh. read more

We dropped by this place after checking out of our Airbnb, which is close by. This spot is right off the main highway, limited parking. Staff is friendly and attentive. I ordered the golden chai which was on their weekly special, a bit sweet, but taste is very comforting. We also ordered the banana walnut muffin, chocolate muffin, and white chocolate macadamia cookie. Interior is very spacious, seating extends into the right side of the bakery. read more

Ordered Coffee and Pastries for my brothers Celebration of life that had to be held in early morning. Everyone was thrilled with the pastries and coffee was so good we actually could have used a third pot! Everything was easy and great and really appreciated. read more

My husband said his coffee was okay. My avocado sandwich, a poor value, was thick on bread, spread with inferior mayo, meager with filling, and accompanied by cardboard, store bought corn chips; I expected more for its $14.50 cost. It was insulting. read more

We were in a nearby RV park and wanted a good lunch. This was a fun place for baked goods as well as a "just right sized" sandwich. The staff behind the counter were pleasant and helpful in getting my order correct and then retreiving the baked yummies. The tables and decor in the side room were a nice place to eat and look around. DH enjoyed his coffee, my water was fine thank you. read more

Staff sullen and rude, unless you're a regular and then they walk the order to your table. I would come in a couple of times a year, and I never ever will again. Your staff SUCKS read more

As soon as we walked in there was a horrible burn smell. Service was very slow just to get a coffee and no one working there seemed to know what they are doing. Whole place has a weird vibe and coffee also tasted burned. Go to the HI Lo Cafe across the road instead, a million times better. read more

One star for the good food. 0 stars for serving me a sausage burrito when I specifically said no meat. But I returned to say that's weird, it felt like there was meat in the burrito I ate, they were like "oh we can remake it for you." After the fact. Turning to the Cook who say "it didn't say no meat went on the order" as if it was my responsibility. What a joke! And very disappointing for someone who doesn't eat pork. Thanks a lot Ellie's... I'll be sure not to come back. read more

This is my 3rd time coming here and today the lady that took my order was very nice and made my matcha latte just perfect (not too sweet or too milky). Thank you for the great customer service! read more

Coffee was good. I got the breakfast sandwich. It was not the best but not the worst. An employee took our box of napkins without explanation, he just looked at me and walked away. So I took another box of napkins and brought it to my table. He eventually came back and took that one too. Never came back. My friend got an Apple fritter. It was dry and lacking flavor. read more

AVOID at all costs! I was hopeful this place would be nice by reading the reviews and wanted to give a local business my patronage instead of stopping at the convenient chain place nearby but will never be back. One staff member was nice when I ordered. They only had one bread option for sandwiches, their own baked grain bread. The bread fell apart and crumbled everywhere so the veggie sandwich became a pile of bread chunks and veggies. The birds I fed the crust to didn't even eat it. The tomato was nearly white, barely any cucumbers, sprouts tasted under-washed and the sandwich had no avocado though the Very Veggie description and staff member mentioned it would. The bathroom was horrible! Urine all over the floor, no toilet paper and the handles/door were grossly dirty. No place should be serving food with a bathroom that gross. I wish I had seen the bathroom before eating. Gross. read more

We have gone to Ellie's for many years traveling up and down Highway 5 to Highway 97. Used to be cute, great Sandwich's and clean. They sold out and the food is mediocre, the staff spends all their time yakking and visiting friends, and I had to ask them to clean off a table. Good place for coffee and sweets to go. read more

When I walked into this place, all three ladies behind the counter were staring at their cell phones. No, Hello, welcome in! I ordered two sandwiches, two cookies, including one breakfast cookie, and a Pepsi. Cost $35. The bread on the sandwiches was dry and crumbly. I don't know if this is gluten-free bread, or if the bread is stale. Did not order coffee. Based on level of service and quality of food, I'll skip this place and go elsewhere the next time I pass through. read more

Nice atmosphere, good service, best egg salad sandwich I've had in awhile. Prices slightly elevated but reasonable. Will be returning!

menu is pretty basic. the girl said there was no croissant even though there was like 5 in the case until we pointed it out. I agree that the service is pretty bad, it's 3 teenage girls chatting the whole time that have staring problems. They don't use gloves to make the food and just have 2 microwaves in the kitchen to make the food. Took like 20 minutes to get a ham and cheese croissant and a plain croissant because they were just chatting so much. $5 for a Yerba mate too. don't recommend. read more

The reviews that described the coffee as good and pastries as great were spot on. We left an RV park at 7 am with a view to making this our breakfast stop after reading reviews. Breakfast burrito was exceptional. Well worth waiting through a 1 1/2 drive. Good seating. Fully recommend. read more

This used to be our go to stop when traveling south. However the last few times I have noticed the service and the cleanliness lacking. Today the bathroom was disgusting and really needs a thorough scrubbing and paint job. My breakfast cookie had stale nuts in it. Will no longer be stopping in. read more

Friendly staff. Sugar cookie was decent. Bathroom was clean. My non dairy latte was good, ordered it with hazelnut but couldn't taste it.

The current Ellie's is riding on the reviews of the previous owner. Ellie's was always priced on the high side but at least previously you got stuffed sandwiches. Now, you're paying more and getting far less in your sandwich. The food is good but is no longer worth paying $11 for a chicken salad sandwich or the high price for anything else there. Service is also awful. There is not enough staff and lines are long. I recommend passing on Ellie's. Go to Mount Shasta City where there are quite a few choices. read more

Stopped here for coffee and a treat before heading out on the next leg of a road trip. Espresso and regular coffee were good, but the pastries were beyond wonderful. Still thinking about the blueberry cream filled one and there were raves over the almond bear claws at our table. Service was great too. read more

Decent coffee shop. Service is friendly but can be slow. Pastries and things will run out so go early for those. Coffee is ok but weak

Love the coffee, we asked for cups for here but got paper cups and apple dumplings. However, the restroom needs a little work. There were no toilet seat covers, the fan is not working and the garbage can in the bathroom is open, the lid has come off and no one has bothered to put it back. Looks like it could use a little TLC and some cleaning, the tile on the floor and the walls just look dirty. read more

The food is awesome. I've not had the coffee. The employees, though, are as snotty as can be. They act like you're putting them out when you ask to buy something. I was a 20-something once, so I get it, but my employers made me try to be friendly when interacting with customers. This place takes a different tack, I guess. The place would be a lot better if it weren't for the rude employees. read more

Friendly little coffee shop in Weed. We typically stop at the cafe across the street but wanted something lighter that we could take to go. The homemade chili was delicious, as was the BLTA sandwich. The homemade bread was a little dry as well as the tuna sandwiches which would have been better if a spread had been put on the bread prior to the tuna. The pastries were yummy and the staff was so so friendly! Worth a stop for a snack on your way through town if you're traveling through. Cool space- we did the morning thing, but it looks pretty cool for evening too. Yummy treats to eat- bacon cheddar scone, cinnamon roll and some kind of yummy apple pastry. Great coffee. I like this place- the outside doesn't give away the comfort of the inside. Check it out! read more

Pitstopped in Weed for gas, breakfast, and coffee. A very common thing, for anyone traveling through. We make this trip at least twice a year. We ate breakfast across the street at the Hi-Lo, which I am so thankful for, in comparison to this place. After breakfast, I still wanted some caffeine for the road, so I walked across and ordered a Red Bull Italian soda. Which, granted is not on the menu. But essentially, it's an Italian soda - substitute the club soda, with Red Bull. Same fizz, just added energy! Genius concept in the PNW only, apparently. I patiently described what I wanted, knowing it's an unusual order. But I was met with rudeness and mockery. When I asked for cream, because it wasn't in my drink (just syrup and a red bull in a cup), the barista mocked me to a fellow coworker. I was so shocked to see this, not only over such a simple drink, but by any employee. Not realizing I was standing at the counter behind her. You can imagine her face, when she turned around. And as we were given the fakest goodbye, she continued to mock us. Completely rude and unprofessional. I would rather drive a few minutes off route to Butte Mountain Coffee, than giving this business and their employees any support. read more

Good breakfast, lunch, and coffee! Just a bit on the pricey side though, but you can't complain when there's few restaurants here in Weed. Competition is low which makes prices high, it is what it is. read more
