Dr. Shiva at Miracle Women's Medical Clinic has truly been a lifesaver for me!!!…read more When I first came to the clinic a couple of years ago, I was struggling with so many health issues and had no idea what was causing them. I had acne, hair loss, constant fatigue, light sensitivity, shortness of breath, unexplained weight gain, and a swollen stomach no matter how much I exercised. I originally came in for what I thought would be a routine checkup. However, Dr. Shiva took one look at my symptoms and my stomach and told me she believed I needed a Pap smear and further testing because she suspected fibroids. She was absolutely right. I had two fibroids, one the size of an orange, and the other the size of a golf ball. She immediately referred me to the appropriate specialists, and I successfully underwent surgery to have them removed. Dr. Shiva also discovered I had thyroid issues, including Hashimoto's disease and Graves disease. She referred me to the right specialists, and today my thyroid levels are finally back to normal. She also noticed my boob was lactating, but I didn't have a small child that was breastfeeding. She sent me to a specialist and I ended up getting my boob aspirated. I was also experiencing severe hair loss and acne. She sent me to a specialist and they treated my hair loss and acne. Thanks to Dr. Shiva's referrals and guidance, my hair is growing back and I am no longer experiencing any health issues. Thanks to Dr. Shiva, I am finally healthy again and feeling like myself. I cannot thank her enough for the care she has provided over the years. If you are looking for a doctor who truly cares about her patients and is committed to finding answers, I highly recommend Dr. Shiva and Miracle Women's Medical Clinic. Thank you Doctor Shiva and thank you to all the kind staff a Mircle women's health!!!!!

Leslie top, Katherine flop!…read more It was not as traumatic as some hospital births but I didn't feel respected or seen by Catherine. It was Covid time and she tried to fear-monger me into taking the jab. If it ended in a miscarriage or an abnormality like for many others, I don't think she would have cared. I know that when she answers here, there will be the standard official narrative that they are safe and effective. Epidurals, Pitocin and C-sections are safe and effective, too. Why would anyone pay over 6500 dollars to a midwife if they trust the official narratives? Thankfully, Leslie at least agreed to consult me on the phone. I felt like it was only about the money and not about caring for a future mother. If something stands against your convictions and insticts, momma, don't let anyone fear-monger you to do it. I wish I was able to write a better review. Would NOT go there again if I didn't really have to.

We love Catherine and Home Birth Service of LA!!! I highly recommend a home birth with Catherine…read moreand her team, here's more about our experience: This was my first pregnancy and I knew I wanted to do a home birth but it took us a little while to find a midwife we liked. So until we found Catherine I was going to an OB nearby and the contrast of care we received was massive. Our OB experience lacked a human, personal touch that we felt immediately with Catherine. She made us feel comfortable and at home in her office and in her care because she cares about getting to know us as people, but most importantly, she shows an honor and respect to the process of bringing new life into this world. She made us feel at ease and confident every step of the way, while also being a pleasure to interact with and be around. Catherine is easy going and makes every step of the process a breeze with her preparation and processes, which eased so much stress for me during my pregnancy. She is a strong communicator and has the best balance of bedside manner and technical skill. When we first met her to see if the chemistry was right, she took time to get to know us while also providing us with all the logistical details of payment and what to expect with appointments. Her office building feels homey and comfortable, a complete contrast from a sterile hospital environment. She is extremely knowledgeable and shared ample resources with us to make sure we felt confident with every decision at every step of the pregnancy. She is an excellent listener and problem solver, listening to all our concerns and suggesting thoughtful and practical solutions. She is the best at drawing blood, giving me the best experiences I've ever had with blood being drawn; not a single mark left on my arm. My pregnancy was very smooth with no complications, but if I ever had a question Catherine was only a text or phone call away. The birth of my son was also extremely smooth and fast, only having to push for about 1.75hrs. I credit this fast and easy birth entirely to being able to be comfortable in my own home and secure in Catherine's care. As I mentioned, this was my first birth and so I wasn't sure exactly what to expect. Catherine and her assistant Rachael were absolutely incredible. They are both mothers themselves and were able to anticipate my needs and make suggestions that helped me be more comfortable and effective during labor. All in all I cannot recommend Catherine and Home Birth Service of LA enough!! If you're shopping around for a midwife, look no further. We plan to have at least one more baby and I look forward to Catherine being the one to shepherd us through the process again!

I was up front from the beginning when I made my initial appointment that I have been experiencing this pain and that a main point of the appointment is to discuss it. At no point in time was I told that this would cause the appointment to not be covered by my insurance. While I made the appointment and before when I filled out paperwork, even though I made it CLEAR that I was experiencing pain, this was never mentioned. Then a week later I am told this was not covered and I owe over $450 because I 'discussed pain' with the doctor. Mind you, discussing the pain was unavoidable as the questionnaire they give you explicitly asks about pain and any adverse issues. So I was charged $450+ for being in pain, essentially. I feel hurt and disgusted and cheated. I came here trying to get help for a terrifying issue that is putting me in a lot of fear. And instead of getting answers, I was billed $450+ for even mentioning that I am in pain. Someone needs to be held accountable for this injustice and if anything the receptionists and doctors should at least feel responsible to warn a patient that we may be charged hundreds of dollars simply for saying that we are in pain. Words cannot express how hurtful and traumatizing this is especially after years of experiencing similar injustices with insurance and healthcare providers. I just wanted help and instead I feel cheated and violated. And I was given no sympathy for this whatsoever by receptionists or insurance even though I am sure they are dealing with these hurt patients they have cheated all day and therefore lost some of their humanity. Providence healthcare, and America needs to do better. You all should be ashamed.

The Kaiser process breaks down when the patient is in the middle of care and sent home after surgery. Getting in touch with our surgeon was impossible. We had to start with the call center and explain everything each time to a new person what we needed. This makes it very difficult for families doing home care. My wife's surgeon did a wonderful job until he didn't. He sent her home without much follow-up and a terrible pain management plan. She should have been kept as an inpatient due to the amount of pain for her type of surgery. Dr. Stephen James Torres has poor bedside manner due to his absence.. He barely met with my wife post-op. Then the recovery nurse called and he prescribed another stronger medication while we were talking. However, this was another opiate. This would have had her on 2 opiates in rotation. The Pharmacist even had concerns for this pain management at home. We had to call "get care now " and that nurse recommended we don't rotate meds. She also said we should go back to ER. My wife toughed through this ordeal, but she shouldn't have had to deal with this at home. Demand another Dr and inpatient care for the safety of the patient. Oh! The cafeteria was decent.

Beth helped us figure out what was actually going on--baby had flipped posterior--and gave us really clear direction on what to do next. No pressure, no fear, just calm, grounded guidance. By the time active labor hit, I was in a pretty raw place. Tired, emotional, unsure. When Beth and team arrived, everything shifted. She was so calm and steady, and I could feel that she trusted my body even when I didn't. Things moved fast after her arrival . I paid over $300 for a prenatal massage here and left feeling frustrated and completely unsatisfied. I came in specifically for lower back pain relief, and despite asking the therapist at least four times to use more pressure, the massage stayed extremely light the entire time. I've had many massages, including prenatal ones, so I know my expectations are reasonable. What made it worse was how my requests were handled. At one point the therapist told me that "if you haven't had a massage in a while your nerves might be asleep," which felt dismissive and didn't really make sense. She then said she would "just press and hold in places" rather than actually massage. That's not what I paid for, especially at this price point. It was clear she was inexperienced, and while everyone starts somewhere, a specialized prenatal setting with premium pricing isn't the place for that learning curve. When I followed up afterward, I was quickly passed off to a business manager via text with very little acknowledgment of my concerns. Their own receptionist had already admitted the therapist was new and less experienced, so the lack of follow-through felt tone-deaf. The owner did eventually offer a full refund, but the way it was handled felt even more dismissive, basically making it clear I wasn't welcome back. Overall this experience was overpriced, underwhelming, and poorly handled from start to finish. I would not return.
