We came here based on the Yelp reviews, and it ended up being the best food we had during our stay in 30A. We tried almost everything on the menu: the wings, Brussels sprouts, dumplings, chicken fried rice with shrimp, and brisket tacos. Every single thing was amazing. We truly couldn't pick a favorite. We also had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Whitley, and his beautiful wife, Desire, who is the chef. They were both so kind and welcoming, with such a genuine heart for community and culture. I'm from Houston and have had a lot of dumplings but these are the best dumplings I've ever had and the sauce it comes with is perfection. We visited Seaside, the town they call "The Celebration" of the Panhandle, just to explore and ended up here (Drone), per recommendation by staff at one of the juice huts nearby. Cool little spot, located directly across the street from the town center area, on the beach side. Simple, small menu, which in this case is exactly the right move. It's clearly intentional, because the quality and flavor of everything we tried was next level. We ordered the wings, chicken fried rice, brisket buns, brussels sprouts, dumplings and thanks to meeting Whitley, one of the founders, we also got to try the Bang Bang Shrimp. Honestly, I don't know if we just showed up at the perfect time or he's just a very present owner (probably both), but he came out, we started chatting, and it turned into him sitting with us for a bit. Such an approachable, genuinely kind person. He somehow turned our very introverted group into a bunch of chatterboxes. That alone made the experience unforgettable, and now I can't imagine coming back to Seaside without stopping here. Wishing him much success, clearly a passionate owner. And... Not me writing a review right now, I usually don't, but this one deserved it. So, let's talk food: Wings: Absolutely delicious. Only complaint... sticky fingers Dumplings: The best I've ever had, no exaggeration. Meaty, flavorful, and that sauce? Wow. Chicken Fried Rice: My picky eater daughter stole half, which says everything. Next time I'm getting it with shrimp on top, no question. Big-Back this one, trust me, GET THE SHRIMP ON TOP. Incredible!! Every dish was so well executed and full of flavor. Some of the best fried rice and crispy shrimp I've ever had. I also loved watching the owners interact with customers and be available to help staff out during the holiday weekend craziness, you can tell this business is run by a special family. On our day spent at Seaside, we decided to eat at the food trucks this time instead of Great Southern Cafe (also good food). The staff at Drome was super friendly & helpful with ordering. Every interaction with the staff was much appreciated as everyone seemed nice & ready to help! The food was amazing here! Our favorite was the dumplings! But we also enjoyed the grilled chicken fried rice & the Brussel sprouts. Portions were big too. We got regular spice level on the dumplings. Flavor was so good with a little kick on the end. The yum yum sauce on the grilled fried rice was a little sweet. It was a nice balance to the savory in the dish. The Brussels sprouts were a huge portion & we couldn't even eat half. Drome has to go boxes & bags so just pack up any leftovers. They're delicious even the next day. We devoured the dumplings so no leftovers there. Lol We would definitely eat here again! read more

A fabulous new addition to seaside!!! We're obsessed to say the least. Loved the original irritable bao in Auburn & so happy to have this spot by the beach. My favorite was the chicken fried rice, but we devoured the dumplings and brussel sprouts. Everything was so well seasoned. You order at a counter, and the food is prepared quickly. Just stumbled upon this place while walking the town. I do love dumplings lol. We sat outside at the bar and started with cocktails, which were freakin great. We shared the dumplings to start and OMG yes please. I got the Chicken fried rice with shrimp on top, the shrimp were outstanding and the rice was good. This wasn't our first time in the area, and we've been on a mission to find true "flavor bombs." Most places were just okay--until we found 'drome in Seaside. The dumplings stole the show. Perfectly done, packed with flavor, and the kind you keep thinking about long after you leave. You can tell the owners put real heart into it, and they're incredibly welcoming and down to earth. The food was outstanding. Every dish feels fresh, flavorful and the attention to detail.. it's easy to tell they are creating with care. The dumplings were packed with flavor, and the crispy shrimp over fried rice was next-level good.. perfectly sauced, perfectly cooked, and beautifully presented. Drome has some of the best flavors in the city. The food came out hot, fresh, and perfectly seasoned. You can tell care goes into the recipes. The drinks were ice-heavy, but the flavors were unique and creative -- it was nice to see something different from the usual menu. The main setback was the "dude in charge" behind the bar. There was one bartender and three+ waitresses. The waitresses were welcoming, taking orders, and running food smoothly, but he often overstepped them when he wasn't making drinks. Drinks weren't served in the order they were placed, boba straws weren't given when needed, and modifications weren't followed. We even saw one drink that was only half full get topped off with Sprite. Overall, the food alone makes it worth trying -- but better bar management (and less ego) would make this place even better. read more
