My fiancé and I have made numerous attempts to email , call and appear in person. We've used the POA wedding inquiry on the website with no return phone calls Or emails. We've left numerous messages for the staff or the wedding coordinator at the lodge with no response. On August 23, 2026 my fiancé walked into the lodge to speak to a manager. The manager(Ashley) was eating her lunch at the bar in the lodge and stated she was on her lunch break, and she was too busy to help her. When my fiancé told me of this unfortunate news, I took charge and got a hold of the Lodge manager myself.Ashley stated that March 6, 2027 was open and that Paul would be giving me a call personally to work out the details. When Paul called I let him know that I was disabled and in a wheelchair and the first question Paul asked me was how much did you want to spend? I explained to our budget was round 20,000 to 30,000 but we could spend upwards too close to 50,000 to 60,000 if need be. Paul then replied and stated that the date is booked, but they have not left a deposit. I've stated if I leave a deposit can we have that date?....Paul then told me he needs to contact other party and see if they still want the date. I still have not received a call from Paul if they left a deposit or if that day Is still booked. After emailing the POA board in frustration and disappointment . Paul finally called the next day and suggest that he's is back in a timely manner. Paul had the audacity., knowing that I'm in a wheelchair to have the wedding at Sunset and do the reception at the country club.. I am still in complete disbelief that he had the audacity to say this. . I find it very frustrating being a resident of Canyon Lake for the last 15 years , the amount of discrimination I've received and the lack of poor follow up Is just downright hurtful . If the lodge cannot accommodate a wedding with the groom in a wheelchair, he should just be very upfront and direct about it. My impression of the Awful Service that the lodge has provided in the last 15 years living in Canyon Lake has not changed. I was hoping that Paul or Ashley could have Changed my view about the Lodge. Furthermore, the inability to Provide a standard service or inquiry. Makes me question where my POA dues really go. We…read morestayed from Friday night to Sunday afternoon and booked 2 campsites and it was pretty spacious for us (for 7 people we could've done with just fine with 1). They have a shower and restrooms which was very nice and convenient: pretty clean when we first arrived but over the course of the weekend one of the toilets got clogged and some people would really take their time in the SINGLE COMMUNAL shower. There's a lake nearby with jet ski rentals a lots of families playing in the water which is really nice. I do agree with the other reviews that people don't really follow the nighttime curfew here. We heard people singing karaoke and being loud. Overall we had a nice experience! Despite the downsides we still had a fun time. I would consider coming back here if I were to go camping again.

The numerous issues we encountered demonstrate a lack of proper management, poor customer service, and unacceptable campground conditions. Upon our arrival, Joselyn Ortiz, who identified herself as the campground manager, informed us that our campsite reservation had been canceled. We never received any notification of the cancellation by email, phone, or mail. Furthermore, no documentation or proof of a refund or reimbursement was provided. This situation caused unnecessary stress and inconvenience after we had already traveled to the campground. In addition, the campground appeared to be overbooked and poorly managed. Throughout our stay, we experienced the following issues: Campgrounds appeared overcrowded, with campsites placed extremely close together, leaving little to no privacy. Excessive noise from loud parties continued without intervention. Park staff and rangers were not visibly present to enforce campground rules or maintain order. Dogs barked continuously, disturbing campers. Children were left unattended and entered other campers' sites without supervision. Restrooms were dirty and not maintained to an acceptable standard. Trash was scattered along the shoreline and beach areas, creating an unsanitary environment and negatively impacting the natural beauty of the park. Wildlife, including mice, raccoons, and squirrels, repeatedly accessed campers' food due to poor wildlife management. Flying cockroaches were present around the campground. Large numbers of bees were concentrated near the shoreline trees, creating potential safety concerns for visitors, especially those with allergies. These conditions did not meet the standards that visitors should reasonably expect from a California State Park. We paid for a safe, clean, and enjoyable camping experience but instead encountered poor management, inadequate maintenance, and insufficient enforcement of campground regulations.

Right away I noticed how family friendly, clean, and safe this place is. There were little league teams playing inside the park, as well as people walking along the trails that run along the length of this place. Along the trails are workout stations, which was great for a fitness enthusiast such as myself. This park, much like this part of the IE, is a gem. Clean, safe, and a community that supports the blue line family and the veteran community. I'd give this great park six stars, if I was given the option.

Mary Henley has a nice view of the San Jacinto mountains and has plenty of shade. I love the trees surrounding the park! My only complaint would be the nasty bathrooms. There's a button for flushing but it didn't work! Also, bring bug spray, there's quite a few June bugs flying around!

I've been walking around this park since 2008 and have watched it deteriorate over the years. Also there are 8 lights along the west side walkway. Only 3 of them work with the one with the video camera has been out since Aug. 2024. I've informed park maintenance more than a few times and they know what I have to say lately when I approach them during my noontime walks.
