Cabana experience: 3/5 We had a pretty good experience today. Comes with 8 waters and a safe and a USB connection for a charger. 2 chairs and 2 loungers. We rented the cabana by the wave pool and it was very convenient. The menus don't have prices though so that makes me nervous. I rated 3/5 because they add 18% gratuity, even if you're below a party of 6 and only ordered 3 beers. Bar: 4/5 The options are the bar are very good. Order virgin pina coladas for the kids. Beer is good lol and there are TVs Food: 1/5 We ordered fries for a snack. Not very good. They were cold, and flimsy. Needed salt. Our kids didn't even enjoy them. I didn't want to order anything else after the fries because it was unappealing. Snacks: 1/5 We bought dipping dots before leaving and when we opened them up, the dots were completely melted into each other so it ended up being like a "gogurt" style ice cream. My family and I have been coming to Wild Rivers every year as a large group of more than 20 people, and it's become one of our favorite annual traditions. Over the years we've spent hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars collectively on admission, food, drinks, merchandise, lockers, and in previous years even cabanas. We've always had positive experiences, which is why what happened today was so disappointing. Toward the end of our visit, my wife and I climbed the stairs to the Pipeline area where rides like Tiki's Revenge and Fiji Falls are located. Apparently, the park has changed the line and staircase system since our last visit, separating which staircases are designated for specific slides. We genuinely did not know this had changed and did not realize we had entered from the wrong side. Once we reached the top, we politely explained the situation to the lifeguard. We apologized for the honest mistake and asked if we could simply go down Tiki's Revenge this one time since we were already standing right next to it. We explained that on our next ride we would absolutely use the correct staircase. The reason this mattered is because my wife has PTSD, severe claustrophobia, and significant anxiety related to heights. Through previous visits, we learned that Tiki's Revenge is the one slide she is able to enjoy because it is the least triggering for her. We also explained that climbing back down the tower is extremely difficult for her because of her anxiety and fear of heights. Unfortunately, the lifeguard immediately dismissed our request and responded with unnecessary attitude instead of empathy. She insisted that if we could climb up, we could climb back down, despite us explaining why that wasn't realistic for my wife's condition. I then asked to speak with a supervisor. A supervisor named John came over, and instead of listening or trying to find a reasonable solution, he repeated the same response with the same dismissive attitude. I then requested to speak with a manager, and another manager (Ashley) came to speak with us. Even after explaining my wife's PTSD, claustrophobia, and anxiety, there was still no willingness to accommodate us or even discuss alternatives. Ultimately, we were left with only two options: force my wife to climb back down the stairs despite her anxiety, or send her down a different enclosed slide that we already knew could trigger her symptoms. She chose the slide because she couldn't bring herself to climb back down the tower. Unfortunately, exactly what we feared happened. She exited the slide in the middle of an anxiety and panic attack. It was heartbreaking because it could have been avoided with a simple act of compassion and flexibility. We weren't asking to skip the line or gain an unfair advantage. We were asking to ride the slide that was literally a few feet away because of a legitimate mental health concern after making an honest mistake. I completely understand that parks have safety rules and operational procedures. I also understand employees have policies to follow. However, customer service includes using good judgment, showing empathy, and recognizing when a situation calls for reasonable accommodation rather than a rigid application of policy. The most disappointing part of this experience wasn't being told "no." It was the complete lack of compassion from three different employees. At no point did anyone acknowledge my wife's condition or make us feel heard. Mental health conditions like PTSD, claustrophobia, and anxiety are real disabilities that deserve to be treated with respect. Even if the policy ultimately couldn't be changed, there are respectful and compassionate ways to communicate with guests. This experience has unfortunately made our family question whether we'll continue making Wild Rivers our annual tradition. Bringing more than 20 family members every year represents a significant investment, and we've always enjoyed supporting the park. We simply expected better customer service, more empathy, and a willingness to help when faced with an honest mistake and a guest experiencing a genuine mental health issue. I sincerely hope Wild Rivers uses this as an opportunity to provide additional training to its staff--not only on customer service, but also on recognizing and responding appropriately when guests disclose mental health conditions or request reasonable accommodations. We got there at 9:40a and gates opened at 10a we go through the security check point. They do the same thing Knotts Berry Farm does looking through your bags with a drum stick.. Then we waited another 20-30mins past the lockers waiting for rope drop. We found chairs to place our things and began going on the water slides. Everything was great 12:30 we broke for lunch and opted for Burgers and chicken tenders. We purchased the refills all day souvenir cup cus it was $10 and a regular fountain drink was $5.50 so anything other refills after the 2nd one would be free in theory. When I went to get my 3rd fill the sensor wouldn't read my cup. I thought maybe I bought the wrong cup but an employee informed me I was correct "free refills all day with that cup" he took my cup to an employee only area next to the dipping dots booth to refill it with sprite but what I got instead was soda water. I informed him the syrup must be out. So I asked for a lemonade instead. Got that. Hours later I went to the sundae rootbeer float booth and asked for a sprite. Again it was filled with soda water. So either every soda fountain in the entire park is using the same pump room under ground or the water park didn't order sprite BIBS before the holiday weekend or it's option 3 what I strongly believe. These "kids" didn't want to give me another sprite and gave me soda water. I never gave them a reason to be petty to me. Idk why they didn't just replace my cup so I could use the self serve soda fountain. I won't be buying the refill cups and wouldn't recommend them to anyone if this is how the water park operates. There was also an incident on the lazy river where a supervisor( older gentleman in a company branded pink Hawaiian shirt was saying something to me. I couldn't hear him because of the music speakers along the river. But why would he holler at someone he doesn't know who wasn't even looking at him while they minded their own business trying to enjoy the day on the lazy river. Giving this a 5* because I had a great time when I came here on father's day with my son. There were minimal lines everywhere, maybe it was because of father's day. The few people I talked to said that was an anomaly and the lines can get crowded on weekends. Overall, I think it's a great water park. It's definitely better staffed than at Hurricane harbor where they have only one lifeguard running multiple slides causing artificial long waits. We came right as they opened and rode a few of the tube slides and had to wait to get on with others since it was a minimum of 3 people per tube. The wave pool was a hoot, and the lazy river had plenty of tubes for us to borrow. I think they could do a bit better with queuing up people on the 2 people tubes and letting us load up while we're given the okay to go down the slide. read more

We're new to having season passes and our kids love it! We've gone three times already this summer and learning new tips every day. Tip 1: weekends are pretty overcrowded Tip 2: get there early as they let you inside before rope drop if you have a specific spot you want Tip 3: food is not the best, we pack a cooler and leave it in the car. You'll see families "tailgating" with chairs and packed meals. Tip 4: wear the water shoes! The bottom of the pools will rip your feet up. And crying 3 year olds who can't walk that night isn't fun. Tip 5: buy the parking pass or park at the park across the street. $25-$35 a day can add up. Tip 6: they sell alcohol but you can't carry drinks in any of the kid pool areas so if you wanna chill and watch from the chair go for it but can't be beside the kids in the pool with it I'll add more tips as our experience furthers this summer! We went to Wild Rivers for the first time yesterday and had a blast! The park was clean and the staff we interacted with were all friendly and helpful. My husband lost his prescription goggles coming off one of the water slides and the lifeguard was helpful & had a good attitude as he helped us retrieve it. The pizza also surpassed our expectations. I think the only slightly off part was getting lunch--lines in the cafe were crowded & confusing (it was a Tuesday, so can't imagine what that must be like on a Saturday). So glad to have finally tried out Wild Rivers which is a waterpark nestled in Irvine's Great Park area. Parking is $25 and you can pay there or online beforehand. I also got a Groupon deal for $45 a ticket, which is a few dollars cheaper than what they offered on the official website. I recommend periodically checking Groupon for deals. When you enter, they have lockers on your left, and plenty of restrooms, showers, and changing rooms. For food, they have a main grill serving hot foods such as pizzas, mini corn dogs, and chicken tenders with fries. There are plenty of stalls serving pastries, ice cream, drinks, and even alcohol. As for attractions, they have plenty of solo body slides, duo slides, and group slides. The best one hands down is the Bora Bora Boomerango. There is also a lazy river and a wave pool, as well as kiddie areas with shallow water and fountains. Do yourself a favor and filter the reviews to the lowest ratings and you'll see those experiences are all more recent visits. We reserved a cabana here for my daughter's birthday. It ended in my 7 year old daughter FULL OF TEARS and hyperventilating because management here is AWFUL. We started packing up around 440pm as the waitress brought us our tab to close out. We aren't slobs, so we made sure to clean up after ourselves and pack. At this moment, they posted a SECURITY guard to stand guard at our cabana as if we were convicts. As we were packing to leave, an older white woman (Susan Kruizinga- Management) walked over and rudely clapped her hands in our face saying we had to 'hurry up and leave because they have a private event.' To come at people sideways like this AS THEY ARE ALLLLREADY DOING THE VERY THING YOURE ASKING is rude, IGNORANT, and condescending. I've included her photo. My husband told her that she could clearly see us packing the last of our things so there was no need to approach us like that. Of course she giggled, left, and came back with police officers because how dare we tell her she was being rude. See from the photos, as all the adults are talking with concern, she's there smirking. Says a lot about a person. The gentleman in blue standing next to the cabana said he was the GM and apologized (pretty sure Susan is his superior but I'm sure he took fault to protect her) Yet, apparently is doubling down on their rude and unnecessary behavior in their response to our review. As we walked out, I filmed how other cabanas were still there lounging (with children) and yet weren't forced out like us. If after this review, you still have an interest in going here know that it's mostly worked by kids as stated in previous reviews and management by older adults seems to be even more childish. She was the worst of them and she's upper management. To the management team, no need to respond to this with your corporate response deflecting and defending your ignorant, discriminatory behavior. How any of you got jobs in customer service, much less management, is beyond me. No need to feel like a keyboard warrior by responding knowing a response can't be made back. Honestly I never been to a theme park like this. I came to celebrate my friends bday for the night wave event and it was not good an experience. The food and drinks were pricey and drinks watered down. It reminded me of all inclusive at the hotels. The park is not big at all! They have some slides and pools but nothing to go crazy for. I also did not like how it was over at 9 PM and they stop letting people get a water slides around 8:15. I don't think it was fair especially when you have paid. Didn't think it was that much fun, and could have lasted longer until a later time. Also, the weight for the bar was absolutely long and we stood in line for over an hour that takes up most of your time to enjoy yourself. The plus is that it's located in a very nice area and it is a clean park, but otherwise I don't think I will come back here again . Free parking and lots of it! read more

We just went here this past Wednesday and it was awesome. Not crowded or overly busy at all, although that could be because we went on a weekday. We also got a cabana, which I would highly recommend for anyone who visits. You get 4 beach chairs (2 loungers and 2 regular chairs), you get protection from the blazing hot sun, you get a cooler filled with complimentary water bottles (our family of 4 was given 6), and there's a safe located in the cabana to keep your valuables locked away while you're out and about in the park. They even put up a cute little chalkboard sign with your party's name on it to welcome you during your visit. You also get an assigned staff member for any food/drink orders, including alcoholic drinks. Ours was Elise and she was the best! Super sweet and friendly and willing to accommodate any reasonable request. She also rounded frequently so we didn't have to go searching for her. There are plenty of clean restrooms available, and kiosks located throughout the park for incidental purchases, snacks, souvenirs, etc. I didn't get to go on too many slides because of my kids being too afraid, but the few we did get to go on were awesome. The wave pool was also super fun. The ONLY reason I'm giving them 4 stars instead of 5 is because of their lazy river. The lazy river is one of my absolute favorite parts of any water park, and there were virtually no tubes available for anyone when we went. You could see a handful of people laying on the few tubes they had and not giving them up, going around multiple times over, despite the fact that there were tons of us standing at the entrance waiting for someone to get off. If I had to guess, I'd say at least half the people I saw in the lazy river were actually walking it because there was no other option. Despite everything else being great, the lack of tubes and subsequently, the inability to actually be lazy in the lazy river, really disappointed me. Hopefully it was just a bad day and they'll have more available the next time we go back. read more

We visited the water park a few weeks ago and received the BEST service from Madeleine at Pacific Grill. We had a pretty large party of hungry kids and teens so we placed a huge order there- chicken tenders, burgers, wraps, salads, drinks. Madeleine was so sweet and professional- she got the order right and was so helpful and accommodating. The food itself was decent normal park food but the five stars are for Madeleine and her excellent service. My kids had a lot of fun at the water park. We will definitely be back soon. read more

I am a little biased because I love water parks lol. Growing up going to raging waters, this was definitely an upgrade. It is smaller than the rager waters I went to, but there is still a lot of rides imo. There's probably 4 group rides, 2-3 single, 2 double, the lazy river and wave pool. At first the lazy river seemed small because of how narrow it was, but it's definitely long going around. The park was relatively clean and modern. Obviously it'll be busy during the peak summer, but it was still fun. We also got chicken tenders and a cookie for $20. The food was surprisingly decent/good! Unacceptable Cabana Service - Avoid Server George. Today my friend rented a cabana expecting a premium experience, but the service was completely unacceptable. Our server, George, was incredibly slow to take our orders. I saw him multiple times sitting at the bar chatting with another employee, and he would randomly disappear for long stretches of time. Worse, whenever George finally did show up, his behavior was entirely inappropriate. He was highly unprofessional, flirtatious, and extremely pushy about trying to get us to buy shots of alcohol. Paying extra for a cabana should guarantee a comfortable, high-quality experience, not uncomfortable behavior and aggressive sales tactics. The lines are pretty long and it can get boring, but if you have someone to talk to in line its fun. The lines on weekends are super long and on week days it is not to crowded. Staff: The staff here was really nice from the parking employees, to gate entrance, to vendors, to ride operators. I want to give special recognition to the amazing lady doing security bag checks. She was dancing with the kids which was so sweet. Somebody give her a raise. Quality/Quantity: The park is very clean, nicely laid out, offers many rides, lots of snack options, some food options, plenty of clean bathrooms, and overall a nice place. Value: The pricing for the tickets was a bit high but if you buy a group ticket or online you can save a good amount. Definitely recommend going this route. Overall: This was my first time here since they moved from to the original location. I had 3 concerns that may or may not be a concern to others. 1) The amount of time it took to enter the park was waaaaaaaayyyy too long. Scanning the ticket should be a very quick and easy process but it wasn't. There must be a more efficient way to move people through the entrance that I'd like encourage them to find. 2) Due to the large amount of development in the adjacent areas of the park there is a very very strong stench of fertilizer in the air. This is very strong and hard to ignore. I'm sure it is due to landscaping projects in the area but it definitely is a bit rough to smell all day. 3) There needs to be speed bumps and security in the parking lot. I was disappointed with my experience at the park, particularly with the professionalism of the security staff. During my visit, I observed two security guards who appeared to be more focused on each other than on their responsibilities. I caught a glimpse of their names and it was ryan and kaden. Rather than actively monitoring the area or assisting guests, they spent an extended period socializing, which gave the impression that guest safety and customer service were not their priorities. Seeing security staff distracted made me question how seriously the park takes safety. Security personnel should be attentive, approachable, and focused on the guests, especially in a busy environment. Unfortunately, that was not the impression I got during my visit. Overall, I expected a much higher standard of professionalism. I hope management reviews staff conduct and ensures employees remain focused on their duties so future guests have a better experience. read more

Managed to finally try out this water park towards the end of summer! The prices had dropped as it was the last couple of weekends before it closed. It is a smaller water park but has plenty of rides to keep you entertained for the whole day. There are wait times and lines at each ride but it goes fairly quick and the staff keep a watchful eye. Restrooms were clean. No outside food is allowed. There is basic food available inside which is decent. We ordered burgers and fries. And ice creams. Try and time your lunchtime early or late as it can get crowded. Overall it was a really fun experience. Taking one star off because the sign outside said the park was open until 6pm, but they closed at 5pm, which definitely threw off our plans. Water fountains available inside. If anyone has been to the old Wild Rivers back in 2011, it was much bigger and adult friendly. The rides were wilder and the wave pool was bigger and deeper. The Wild Rivers now is much smaller and great for elementary through middle school kids. I can see it being easier for parents and teachers to wrangle their kids because of how contained it is. Slides were almost relaxing in comparison to the old Wild Rivers. Very similar to Soak City. I wouldn't recommend paying full price as we went their last week of the season at $30/person from 3-7pm. A little disappointed that their lazy river was closed due to their staff going back to school but understandable and they did mention this online. The staff was very friendly and tried their best with what they had. I think it would've been beneficial to move the less busy staff around periodically since the entry staff slowly had less customers whereas the slides staff were running solo. I felt bad for the ride operator who was handling the Tortuga and Typhoon rides by himself. He definitely needed more help but did a great job. The wave pool only went up to 5ft as I'm guessing was also due to lifeguard staffing issues. However, no tubes allowed in the wave pool which was my favorite part but I'm sure it makes it easier for the lifeguards to watch everyone. Lots of kids were horsing around which probably stressed out the staff. It looks like the majority of their money is made through concessions. I recommend bringing food in your car instead. Their online FAQ spelled this out quite clearly. Don't bring your nice sandals because people were just leaving them everywhere so I can see how easily it would be to walk off with someone else's. Overall, definitely kid friendly but I recommend the high school kids to adults make the drive to Raging Waters or Hurricane Harbor if they want more action. read more

Wild rivers is the first waterpark I've been to and I love it! We quickly got into the park and put our bags down at Kontiki cove. First I went on Typhoon, and it was CRAZY. The wait was around 15 minutes right after lunch. No drops, but you may feel like you are flying. Second, I did the Pelican Plunge. There is a big drop and a small drop, and again, you might feel like you are flying. I like it, but it's one of the scarier ones. Cook's cove is certainly not my favorite because I have glasses and that makes it a horrible experience. The wave pool is great! It's so fun, especially as you get closer to the big waves. The highlight is the lazy river. It can be hard to get a tube but keep trying and generous people give up their tubes for you, which is so sweet. Once you're in, you just never wanna get out! I was pleasantly surprised by our experience, of Wild Rivers on a hot weekend. There were slides for all ages and levels of excitement, enough seating for everyone, food was not bad (we even found vegan/vegetarian options), kids had a great time and the staff were very good, even though many staff were teenagers, those kids were well trained, most if not all, were diligent, friendly, pleasant, and seemed to enjoy their job. That's not always the case, especially from what I've heard in the past, but really glad they hired and trained effectively this time. The supervisory staff, adult aged, were also very good, helpful and really seemed to have a customer focus. Just as a warned if you choose a weekend, especially in July or August on a hot day expect to be waiting practically 45 minutes to over an hour for the popular slides by around noon. But that should be expected as you find that at almost every amusement park in Southern California. But if you have young kids and we're talking around five years and under, you'll be fine as those kids will probably want to just do the small waterslides at the splash pad area the wave pool and the lazy river. That was really little to no lines all day. And those will be where you want to spend most of your time when the lines start getting long. I guess the one item that people have complained about still seem to is the number of rafts available in the lazy river, I have to agree with this, I probably waited 5-10 minutes before I could find one and there was not a good system to get it, they really should have a line up and someone collecting them for patrons (they do this at lazy river at Legoland waterpark). There was just people standing everywhere and if you happened to be standing in the right place you get one, but you could be standing there for 15 minutes and have somebody else for just arrived. Grab it from you if you didn't speak up. Just not efficient and inviting conflict among guests. This happened a couple times on a few of the water slides that involved rafts were people were cutting the line and causing arguments. This could've easily been addressed with a staff in the proper place taking care of raft distribution. I noticed many of the really bad reviews are from past years, so it's nice to see that the park addressed a number of the issues this year and now in 2025, a few years later, they have finally gotten a lot of operational issues sorted out. Well, it's not the best experience yet, Wild Rivers seems to have reached a level that is close to and approaching being on par with its larger competition, such as Raging Waters, Knotts and Legoland. For that reason, we'll be coming back and hoping to see even more improvements in future years. read more

I had a great time at wild rivers, my nostalgia of water parks as a kid, came true. I was happy to find out there was a flash sale for tickets and each individual ticket was 48 instead of 65. I decided to call off on a Tuesday, knowing this would be my best day to go and avoid crowds since I heard it gets crazy on weekends. It's located in the great park of Irvine. I tell everyone it's located next to the big orange air balloon and then they know. Plenty of land and space. Parking is easy access but entry is 25 bucks. Upon arrival or entrance, they do a bag security check to make sure you have no food or drinks/alcohol, smoking. You're allowed to bring empty bottles since they have water stations. As you enter after having your ticket scanned, be sure to get a locker to put your belongings. It's 18 bucks or 25 for a bigger one I believe. This makes it easy to come back and forth after rides. My favorite things to do while there was chilling on the lazy river with a tube. It can be tough to get one if its busy, just be patient and someone will hand you one after they're done. Next, the tsunami was pretty fun, I went all the way in on the side and felt all the strong waves. Be careful if you can't swim well since I someone swallowing a lot of water and had to be pulled out. I recommend the big seat rides that can hold more than 2, it makes the lines go by quickly. Tons of fun rides but I tried to avoid the long ones. Construction wasn't fully done when I went but mostly all the good stuff was. There's a bar for drinks and food area. What saved me was the dip and dots ice cream station. It was perfect on a hot day. I'll definitely be back to go on everything else I read more

As GPN residents, we've enjoyed supporting Wild Rivers and watching it evolve each season. It's clear the park listens to feedback and works to improve the experience year after year. 2023: Waiver forms were filled out on paper, which caused long lines and generated a lot of unnecessary waste--not the most environmentally friendly system. 2024: Waivers went digital, and guests used wristbands. My wife lost her Google Pixel in the wave pool during play, but the manager we spoke to handled the situation kindly and asked the staff to keep an eye out. We were relieved and grateful when the phone was found and returned the next morning. 2025: The system improved even more. Guests could set up their own accounts and upload family photos ahead of time. No more wristbands needed, and I rarely saw any bees or wasps this season. A good solid fun experience. Didn't have any issues with check in our Groupon redemption except that it was confusing but it ended up working! Took my 6 year old and she had a blast! She Loved the wave pool and the lazy river, I loved the slides and the wave pool as well! I recommend bringing your lunch in a cooler and leaving it in the car. We did that as I saw others reviews to do so and glad we did! Locker was $18 but it was ok because I didn't want to leave my keys or phone on lounge chairs. Can't wait to go back next summer, I recommend the Groupon to save some money as the place is small and the lines can get long. It did feel clean though which was a plus! read more

Very fun! - Excessively long, boring wait lines. 45min on a weekday... - Exorbitant, unhealthy food and drink options at the Pacific Grille food court. . Tip: coordinate in your party who orders fries at this food court, and share with the rest of your party. Otherwise, if everyone orders fries, you'll have so many leftover fries to throw away. - That food court needs more shaded seating. + Glad not ALL toys are banned from water parks. ;) - We always enjoy using pool tubes in the Lazy River, but man they need a lot more. No matter, we still turned it into the Crazy River. :D - They removed pool tubes from the Wave Pool. (Fortunately we found other ways to turn it into the Rave Pool. }:) - Restrooms need more stalls. - Expensvie $25 slow, crowded parking when it could just be $5, + but the free farther parking lot is just a 5min walk away. ;) read more
