Awesome ambience. We love eating out under their cabana with the breeze. Their pizza is incredible, especially the sausage, onion, and cherry pepper pizza! Saw other food pictures so I wanted to try a new place. So glad I did. We arrived on the property a few minutes before they opened and a lady in a car said she would be right back. Sure enough, by the time we parked our car and walked out, she was already inside. Laurie, the owner served us. She gave us some history of the winery/restaurant. Thoroughly enjoyed our time chatting with her. Later, her husband Jeff spoke with us and how he made the Talon wine. Such a great experience to chat with both owners. Now for the food. The pizzas were delicious. We had the spicy meat/cherry pepper and the sweeter pear, caramelized onion one. We so appreciated the chef for going out in the heat to cook the pizza in their pizza oven. Definitely getting two for four people was a good choice. We also had two bottles of the Talon wine, perfect pairing for us red wine lovers. The beet salad and chicken curry were also very tasty. Plenty of food, but we had to try the lemon cake. Great finish to a wonderful, hot afternoon. Being indoor with tall windows to look out was perfect. Seating was cozy and relaxing. Second time visiting this hidden gem! Wondered if the amazing tenderloin I had on my first visit could be just as delicious the second time around and it was!! I'm a huge steak snob and the filet is definitely one of the best I've ever had. The venue is really lovely. We sat inside both times because it was a bit windy outside, but I look forward to visiting when we can enjoy the outdoor space as well. Everything about this experience was wonderful! The service, the food, the atmosphere, just lovely. You get a 5-star experience without having to go deep into the city and that feels like going "home"... if you've watched those old school movies that show an idealistic perfect meal at the holidays. If you happen to go on an evening that the weather is conducive to eating outside on their patio, I highly recommend you do just that, there is a peaceful serenity you can find here and during those quiet moment in between conversations you can hear the crickets singing to you. A husband/wife team run this establishment and it just exudes this, no-one is stranger for long, you're family, kinda atmosphere. It's farmhouse chic, southern minimalism, beautiful, calming design with an eclectic vibe... that means you'll find something interesting if you take the time to really take in the decor around you. There's just something so comforting about having a meal here, that I was already planning my next few visits before we had even paid the bill. The food was flavorful, not overdone, memorable...quality ingredients and a passion for his craft, the chef wowed us with each course. The Arancini was packed with a meticulously prepared mushroom risotto that melted in your mouth and then was quickly enhanced by the delicious red sauce that only elevated the flavors more with a pairing of their estate talon red wine. The filet mignon was juicy and paired wonderfully with the earthy parsnip purée, it could have been cut with a butter knife it was so delicately prepared to perfection. The Bombay chicken curry had the right amount of spice and flavor that made it quite delicious yet not overwhelming on top of the fluffy and fragrant jasmine rice. I could go on, but you may just want to go try the food yourself. The dessert is where I slipped into heaven on a pillowy cloud of satisfaction... the Vanilla Sponge Cake was out of this world. Dense yet fluffy, springy and sweet but somehow light... the house-made whip cream thick and complimenting of the zest of the fresh lemon surrounded by the beautifully prepared sauce on the plate. I've eaten at many places and I don't prefer to eat cakes anymore, but I would drive an hour just to get a piece of it again. read more

Loved visiting here. It was a perfect, 85° day in November and we decided to try out a new winery. We made reservations and when we arrived the nice lady running the place had tables setup for us inside and outside. Service was fast, and we decided to share 3 bottles of the Chardonnay. I couldn't recommend it more! I'm not a huge Chardonnay person, but this one was different. It had a crisp, apple taste. I would definitely get it again. Getting to this place was different. It is tucked away, but you have to go down lots of windy, bumpy, gravel roads to get here. We didn't try any of the food, but we saw the fries on the menu were $12. That's pretty expensive. The lady also told us they make pizza (it's not on the menu). All in all, great visit, but wine glasses were a dirty. Everyone in my party agreed. I would come back and visit again read more

Simple but fantastic! Stopped by on a whim and was recommended to try the burger. It had local jam, homemade pickle chips, and Boy O Boy was it excellent! The staff were extremely friendly and the other customers were very all expressing how good the food was. Did I mention the wine....? While I very much enjoyed the wine, the 5 stars is mostly for the food and homey atmosphere. There are some decent food options in this area, but this isn't a burger joint or quick cheese plate you find at a winery. This is a full service restaurant that happens to have a vineyard next to it. The owners used to run their restaurant at a different location, but relocated it next to where they live. Think of the atmosphere as a mix between French country and your personal dining room. Yes they have pizza (and it looked good) but there are so many other options to try. I went with a fantastic salad and French onion soup. Of course there is wine too - the owners are wine makers as well as chefs. I enjoyed the Cabernet Franc and "Talon" red blend the best. All are designed to be paired with food. This is NOT your standard winery. Don't visit for a tasting and dash to the next place. Come hungry and sit down for a while. read more

I'm making my way around the wineries in Northern Virginia one by one, and recently visited Eagletree with a friend after a day of antiquing in Loudoun County. It's a bit of a hike to get there but definitely worth it! The wine was great, the owner/bartender was super friendly and attentive, and the ambiance was beautiful - amazing scenery all around with lots of big windows to see the fall greenery if you prefer to sit inside - which we did since it was a chillier day, but there is also outdoor seating. My friend and I both ordered the wine flight, which was presented beautifully. We enjoyed all the wines, and ordered a second glass of our favorite - I'm not usually a huge fan of white wines but the White Talon was top notch. It also looked like they have a full bar in addition to their wine offerings. We didn't order much food since we had eaten beforehand but other patrons around us did and the dishes looked amazing. When I return, I'll definitely come with an appetite! An important note was that we also appreciated that this winery stays open a bit later on Saturdays than others in the area. The food was delicious but pricey. I had the beef short rib which came with a roll. The service was great, and it was a beautiful area.

Let's just start with that this was not at all what we expected. First off, we thought based on their website that this was going to be a winery and restaurant. Yes, it's a restaurant but there was no winery to be found. And there appears to be a vineyard but who knows what happens with that product since the wine choices we were offered in the restaurant seemed to have come from a vintner called 'Talon' (at least that's how they were identified on the card that came with the tasting flight of 4 wines). There was no place to taste wines or buy wines for that matter. As for the restaurant, the menu was very limited in its offerings and some of the items were beyond 'winery expensive'. A bowl of fries for $14 ? If they were duck fat fries, truffle parmesan fries, or sprinkled in 24k gold leaf you might win me over and convince me they were worth it but these were pretty standard fries. This should have been $9-10 tops. Someone in my party ordered the winter salad which while not as badly overpriced was still spendy, but it was quite good. I thought the rest of the menu was absurdly priced. While the people running the restaurant seemed quite friendly, they are in dire need of learning restaurant etiquette. Two of us had ordered the wine flight (of wines that appeared to be someone else's wines). We had both made it through 3 of the 4 wines when one of the staff came over, removed the remaining glass from the tasting tree, and left it on the table along with the tasting card that had adorned the top. They just took it. No "can I take this? " or "let me get this out of your way", they just took it. And you know I wouldn't have cared if the place was busy and that they might have needed them for another customer but the place was 60% empty. It was just rude. And speaking of poor service etiquette... shortly after they repoed the tasting tree a different server came by and scooped up my side plate that while empty, had been used to have a sample of my friends salad. Again, she just took it - she didn't bother to ask, are you through with this? May I clear this? And she did the same thing to my friend except in her case it was worse. My friend had received an international call from her sister and was leaning down towards the table to muffle the sound and not disturb the other guests so her head was pretty close to the table and the plate that she had been using, when the server again, without asking or heaven forbid just wait a few minutes, removed the plate. Honestly, I felt like we were being given the bum's rush to the door, which had the place been busy I would have understood but it wasn't - most of the tables were available. And until that point, I was contemplating ordering some additional food but after that, I just encouraged my friends to leave and let's go find someplace else (which we did - a mile away where we spent the rest of the afternoon as we enjoyed better food, much better service, and a welcoming atmosphere. You would be hard-pressed to get me to ever set foot there again. read more

Absolutely beautiful setting overlooking a pond, with easy hiking trails. The wine was OK although a bit on the pricy side ($30+ for most bottles). Food was good although service was VERY slow (and was rendered with the caveat from the wait staff -- yes they actually said this -- that it would probably be a very long while before they could get to us, so we shouldn't have high expectations). Case in point: I was given a mouthwatering bread roll with a side of butter, but no knife. Despite requests to the waitstaff, the knife never materialized. One of my group got the fish and chips, the portion of fish was very small and they said it was dry. The wood fired pizzas were very good. One in our group got the sausage and peppers which was good but spicy. I got the pear and onion pizza which was excellent and I highly recommend it. We also got the mushroom arancini which was also very good. I got the wine flight which consisted of 4 wines, none of them were great. The chardonnay was ok. We were there for quite a long time and were not made to feel rushed at all, in fact they kept refilling our water glasses which was very nice as our group had not seen each other for a long time and we wanted to stay and visit. Music was also nice, classic jazz. I gave this place 4 stars because of the friendly service and the pizza, otherwise I probably would've only given 3 stars because the wine wasn't great and the prices were high. read more

What a magical experience. This is a wonderful farm/ restaurant and we felt truly lucky to find it today. The food was excellent. It felt like we were @ Chef Jeff's home and he was treating us to his favorite dishes. Kids loved the fish and chips snd we liked the filet and the shrimp kabobs. We also enjoyed the blood orange ale and their incredible home baked bread. To top it all off, our magnificent hostess Laurie was just the best. She was so sweet to us and the kids and was very attentive. The views on the way are gorgeous even if you didn't have a killer spot at the end of the rainbow! So was the bread. We also had the rum brunch. Maybe skip that. But the wine was a solid alternative. The service was exceptional. One of the owners waited on us. She picked up on our vibe instantly.
