The restaurant was nearly empty when we arrived, yet we were told we couldn't be seated until our full party was present--even though the third person was only ten minutes away. Oddly enough, they said we could sit at the bar, just not at a table. On top of that, the breakfast bowl couldn't be customized with fried eggs instead of scrambled. The only option was to remove the eggs entirely and then purchase a side of fried eggs for an extra $6.50. We came on a weekday around noon. We were greeted & seated right away. S/O to Sydney our server who was kind and patient with us being first time customers. We had some questions and she gave us great insight on the various menu items. Also we had the pleasure of meeting one of the co-owners Scott who gave us great recommendations on what to try. He was personable, attentive, and proud of the food being served (as he should be!). The items we tried were the chicken frittata 10/10, the wings & waffle 10/10 and the shrimp & grits 8/10. The portions are great and honestly sharing is caring. We all had a taste of each other's meals and it was a resounding thumbs up. All three meals were SO good but the frittata and flavor/texture of the waffle really stood out. If you get the wings and waffle get the Southern Heat sauce! You'll thank me later ;) Also don't let previous reviews about price point deter you. You get plenty for what you pay for. The portions are substantial and menu ranges from $12-16 appetizers and entrees between $19-35. Super reasonable and every bite was well worth it. I had such a great experience at Drunch! First off, shoutout to the owner/manager for getting our party of 7 seated so quickly--we really appreciated that. Our server was an absolute sweetheart. She was super attentive, answered all of our questions, and gave great recommendations, which made ordering a lot easier because the menu has so many good options--it was honestly hard to choose! The food did not disappoint. The wings were packed with flavor, and my waffle was sooo good--it literally melted in my mouth. The whole vibe is very welcoming. One of the owners made sure we were aware of all the new items . The food was delicious we had a party of 6 . We were seated immediately. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. The woahnuts were so soft with a fruity sauce that wasn't overly sweet. The Sweet Thai Chili had the perfect balance of sweet and spicy. The avocado fries were 10/10! The chicken and waffle sliders were incredibly tender and juicy, and the waffles had a delicious cinnamon flavor. The home fries were buttery and soft, and the mac and cheese flatbread was cheesy and flavorful. The banana bread French toast was definitely the standout. The Bennie came with phenomenal home fries, the hollondaise sauce complimented the dish without taking over the entire flavor profile, and the veggies were a perfect medley. If you like savory and sweet together the drunch balls are where it's at! They were a lot more delicate than I thought they would be having an outside batter that's fried which was wonderful. Dense would have been gross. Inside had all the tasty breakfast items rolled up into big bursts of flavor. The wings were roasted to perfection and were super saucy! I will say, they do implement an automatic 18% of gratuity to all bills. Being a server I see both sides of that coin. Tips are never expected but always appreciated. We felt a bit rushed to order and never received extra items we asked for like share plates. We were quoted a 15-20 minute wait for a table but got sat in a little under 15 minutes which was nice. I'd heard plenty of buzz about Drunch from friends and coworkers but had never made the trip myself. This was the perfect excuse to finally check it out. We were greeted with warm hospitality and excellent service from the jump. I decided to take a chance on something different and ordered the Drunch Cajun Pasta. Let me tell you--I'm so glad I did. I wasn't sure what to expect from a Cajun pasta for brunch, but the dish absolutely blew me away. The sauce had that rich, gumbo-like flavor you'd find in New Orleans, laced with file and savory herbs. The andouille sausage, shrimp, and ham were seasoned to perfection and paired beautifully with sautéed veggies over angel hair pasta. Every bite was packed with flavor. The vibe was welcoming, and the co-owner even came over to chat with us, which made the experience feel that much more personal. we showed up on a saturday around 1030 and, while it was busy, there was no wait. WHOANUTS: the star of the show. a must order - so cute, so good. i ordered the breakfast bowl which covered all of the savory breakfast basics: eggs, gravy, protein, potatoes. my husband had the southern friend chicken eggs benedict and devoured it - i had a bite of the fried chicken and it was VERY tasty/juicy/flavorful. coffee was great & service was fantastic. oh, and the food came out SPEEDY quick. we didn't order any brunch cocktails but they did have an extensive cocktail menu with plenty of hair-of-the-dog options. a few minor complaints (although these wouldn't stop me from returning!): it's a rather loud environment, not somewhere to go if you're looking for a relaxing breakfast date. also, my husband and i were sat at an 8 top table with another couple (we didn't know the couple) and there were a few 4 top tables that were open when they sat us. i understand needing to save space but the logic didn't make sense to me - what if a group of 5-8 showed up and then they didn't have a table for them because we were taking up a large table? overall, i'd recommend this for a breakfast/brunch spot to try in columbus! read more

I was in here a few months ago. I had never been there since u til today. Not much has changed. Even the "this month's" "monthly specials" seemed unchanged. We arrived maybe at 11:15am on a Thursday. We were greeted by this lovely young person who was truly a breath of fresh air. Rock music was loudly playing, which oddly really worked here, and the hostess became our server (which we were happy about. She answered all our many questions with a smile. As for the food--It was good. Really good. We ordered a breakfast burger and wings. The burger was huge, we took half home and the wings were cooked to perfection. The drink we ordered was strong. However I wouldnt call anything super creative as I could easily replicate both menu items at home for much, much less. The cons: (warning a small rant is coming) 1) Wow, their prices are high. The prices were the same a few months ago but for some reason I didnt pay attention to how high. Lol. 2) tipping: grrrrr--. they force you to tip 18% regardless if u like your meal or server etc. There is a big sign at the entrance explaining this. I had forgotten they do this. I literally almost left due to this, but my guest wanted to stay. 3) adding more annoyance, Drunch calculates that said tip on the AFTER tax total vs the pre taxed amount. So at Drunch, you are tipping on your food, service AND paying the server 18% of what you were taxed. Paying someone a tip on the extracting tax from you - Hahahaha. Not really funny at all. Not cool to force a tip on tax. Now this server was excellent. Had I come in here and NOT been forced to pay a minimum tip, I would have tipped her 20-25%. And I prefer to do that in cash which Im told servers prefer... I cant imagine why???? Lol. Heck I might of left more. But when "you" the restauranteur do this you are implying its my job to pay your employees, not yours. I have a big issue with that. However, this particular young lady was so good we still handed her a few extra bucks in addition to the forced 18%---, but she would have made a lot more had there not been this mandated tip. Due to the prices and tipping policy I have adjusted my rating of this place. Id say three and a half stars but since yelp doesn't have half stars: four star. Mainly due to the hostess was excellent and we did enjoy our food. read more

Easy to miss the sign "please wait here" when the doorway is crowded and no one at the hostess stand. If you sit at the bar by mistake without giving your phone number, expect the "so called owner" to be rude and belittling. Not the way to run a business. If this is how he treats customer, I expect he's worse with employees, which is probably why he was working on a weekend. Your money is power. Don't eat here. I was in town coming back home to visit family and came to Drunch for a quick brunch with my mom. She frequents and was very excited to introduce me to her new spot. Getting a table was easy even though it was a busy day. A table for 2 took roughly 20 min to be seated (we arrived around 10am). Keep in mind shortly after we arrived many parties started to show up and I overheard the wait time had increased to 45-1 hour for anyone after us. Once seated we were promptly greeted and our drink orders were taken. I love all the food options, I had a hard time deciding what to get. We decided on the egg rolls, chicken and waffles, and crab cake Benedict. Our appetizer came out first. Once we bit into the egg rolls we realized that while they seemed done the entire inside was still frozen. It was a huge disappointment for the both of us. My mom has had them before and raved about them but unfortunately I couldn't relate. Due to how busy it was it took a minute to flag our server down. While she was apologetic, and wanted to offer a remedy, food was supposed to come shortly after so I had them removed from the bill. I can say the rest of the food was good and flavorful. I enjoyed the music and the vibe of the restaurant but it is a bit crowded the way they have tables set up. I get all the tables are necessary with the way they have to get people in and out but I felt a bit congested. Not sure when I'll be back in town but willing to try them again.
