***A Stunning Showroom, But an Unwelcoming Experience***…read more This tile store has one of the more contemporary and stylish selections we've found in South Florida, and the showroom is merchandised well and easy to browse. We were looking forward to this visit, but unfortunately, the experience didn't match the quality of their products. We first checked their Yelp page to confirm their hours, as we were driving 45 minutes to get there. Nothing indicated that visits were by appointment only, which we found out upon arrival from a sign on the door. I called the number listed on the sign, and a kind receptionist allowed us inside to take a look around. While we were browsing, however, we were confronted by a staff member who made it clear--without any courtesy--that we were not welcome without an appointment. When I explained that the nice receptionist allowed us in, she said, "That was her." I then explained that we had relied on their Yelp listing and weren't aware of the policy. She dismissed me with a laugh (no, I'm not kidding) and said, "Nobody uses Yelp." When I pointed out that we had used it, her response was "OUR customers don't use that. I don't even know what it is." We understand and work with appointment-based showrooms fairly often, and we would have gladly scheduled one if it had been offered. Instead, by dismissing potential customers, especially those who made an effort to visit, we were left with an unfortunate lasting impression. NOT RECOMMENDED FOR MOST: If you're looking for a great selection, this store has it--but expect a chilly reception if you don't fit their idea of the "right" customer. There are several other places in this upscale category in South Florida that are just as good, and they understand customer service.

July 13, 2023, flooring for a secondary bathroom was installed, it appeared inconsistent. It looked like it had come from two different boxes or runs. I reached out to Mike Hummel via email and explained the issue and I attached pictures. His first response was "Natural stone variation where the installer should not have installed. We could have tried to go back to the factory for a closer match. 2nd if there is water backed up in the mud bed from the possibility of a drainage issue." He followed up that email with "I went to the jobsite today . Kirsten happened to be there and told me after install it had changed tones. Unfortunately, this is a reaction from the moisture of the setting materials and the stone. It may dry out but I could not say when that may happen." We were quite clear how and where the material would be used. We had no preference for material. The material could have been anything. I'm frustrated because it seems there isn't really a clear answer. He also suggested we picked the "wrong material" for a shower floor. He was the one that suggested the material in the first place. I wish I had gone someplace else. Now I'm stuck with a shower floor that looks horrible.

I'll start by saying that I don't like leaving bad reviews…read more I began this order on April 9 with a sample tile from Bati Orient. Unfortunately, the sample arrived scratched. I contacted Richard and explained the issue, and he reached out to Bati Orient on my behalf. Their response was that because I had already taken the sample with me, there was nothing they could do. Richard advised me that when I placed the full order, I should inspect the tiles at the warehouse before accepting them. I ordered 30 tiles, and approximately 16 of them were damaged. I took the tiles that appeared to be in acceptable condition and left the damaged ones at the warehouse, expecting them to be replaced. The following week, Richard contacted me and explained that Marline, the manager of the Sunrise store, had informed him that the manager at the Hialeah location had inspected and cleaned the remaining tiles and determined that they were fine. I told Richard that I found this difficult to believe because the tiles I had seen were visibly scratched and dented. The tiles were then sent to the Sunrise location. When I inspected them there, I found the same scratches and dents. It was clear that they had not been properly inspected. I called Richard, explained the situation, and left without accepting the tiles. Richard informed Bati that the tiles needed to be replaced. However, Bati appeared reluctant to do so, stating that I had already received a $94 credit because the Hialeah manager had determined that the damaged tiles were acceptable. That assessment was simply not accurate. Bati later sent eight additional tiles, and Richard specifically asked that they be carefully inspected before being shipped. Richard then contacted me to let me know that the tiles had arrived at the Sunrise location and that Marline and her assistant had inspected them and they were fine. When I arrived on Saturday, July 18--more than a month after this process began--I inspected the eight tiles and found that six of them were damaged. I spent approximately two hours with Marline trying to determine whether any of the tiles could be salvaged. Ultimately, I left without them. Marline encouraged me to take the tiles, but I could not accept visibly damaged merchandise. Richard called me on Monday, July 20, and explained that he had instructed the Sunrise location to send the tiles directly to him so that he could personally try to resolve the matter, since the issue had been ongoing for more than a month. I do not want this to come across as arrogant, but my home is highly customized, luxurious, and carefully designed. I cannot install expensive specialty tiles that are scratched, dented, or otherwise damaged. These are premium tiles, and I expect the quality to reflect the price. I live in Naples, and each round trip to the store is approximately 200 miles. I have already made the trip three times, totaling roughly 600 miles. My time is also extremely limited because I own and manage four different companies. I have spent thousands of dollars with D&B. One wall alone, spanning approximately 100 feet, cost nearly $5,000. I am also considering purchasing another home, but this experience has made me hesitant to purchase additional tile from Bati Orient. I would like to emphasize that Richard has been an outstanding salesperson throughout this process. He has consistently tried to help and has continued working toward a resolution. People frequently ask me where I purchased these tiles, but because of this experience, I am currently hesitant to recommend Bati Orient. Richard deserves recognition for his professionalism, patience, and continued assistance in trying to resolve this situation. Thank you

They sold us a DEFECTIVE marble slab for our kitchen counter as it wasn't SEALED PROPERLY? After barely a week or two, we quickly noticed our brand new marble kitchen counters had a major flaw.. While it may look terrific at 1st glance, we discovered that it is flawed .. Every mark, water stain, fault, OR blemish quickly rares it's ugly head and it is IMPOSSIBLE to remove any marks stains etc .( Instead we will now have to spend an additional $1,000 probably every year or two to RESEAL the entire kitchen counter top !) The Restoration company later told us this marble SHOULD NEVER BE USED FOR COUNTERS. It was meant for walls or something that's not used OR exposed very much Our Sales rep Hadi, assured us that as long as it was sealed by Nature of Marble . It would be terrific .We were grossly mislead... It was clearly NOT sealed properly !! After we complained their response was to run away and hide behind the words "AS IS" on our contract .... No recourse what so ever period.. No refunds, credits etc BUT we instead MUST PAY 100% UP FRONT , and TRUST THEM to seal it properly... which clearly they failed miserably to do !!? They did nothing at all to help us I would never go back there and hope anyone reading this has the intelligence to take your business someplace else? Larry

I did everything possible to avoid issues -- I confirmed timelines with my salesperson, Drew, to avoid a price increase and followed up with a call. Despite that, my quote increased. After some back and forth, they did honor the original price -- but the problems didn't stop there. Drew failed to place the order, even though I had submitted it and paid in full. That delay caused major availability issues, forcing me to purchase a more expensive microwave just to stay on schedule. When I needed to change one appliance, it took weeks just to get an updated proposal. I shared my install deadline well in advance, because I had out-of-town carpenters coming specifically to install the appliance panels. House of Appliances never got back to me in time, and I missed the window. Now I have to pay extra to get the panels installed later. To make matters worse, the refrigerator drawers and wine refrigerator arrived damaged. I was told they could be repaired -- but I paid full price, and I will not accept repaired appliances. These units are required for my Certificate of Occupancy and panel installation, and I still have no resolution. I even contacted a manager and have yet to receive any help. This kind of service is unacceptable.

Unfortunately, when we explained the purpose of our visit, the salesperson, Drew Meltz, informed us that we could not purchase appliances in Florida and have them shipped to Vermont. Right. We asked if we could still browse their showroom. Drew immediately welcomed us and then proceeded to spend nearly an hour going over all the appliances we were looking for: ovens, dishwasher, refrigerator, etc. All the while knowing there would be no eventual sale. Drew Meltz is the best appliance salesperson we have ever met, hands down. He is supremely knowledgeable about his products, patient, cordial and a real pleasure to work with. And their store, is superior to any of the many other stores we have been visiting. Five enthusiastic stars for Drew and the House of Appliances. Steve and Evelene Lakis
