Hard water problem was evident here making my blond hair appear very brassy looking. Also my hair didn't feel fluffy after my blowout from the high metal content in the water. My last appt this was not a problem as i brought my own metal detox shampoo and conditioner. They also advertise a $55 monthly membership but I wasn't able to sign up for it. I was told they were unable to sign me up due to a technical glitch. Just returned after a long time away! Had a great blow out with Aida. The place looks as new as when they first opened and update even. Love that they are always open and there to save your last minute needs! Got a charcoal blow out to remove residue it did dry out my hair a bit so next time a mask! Very disappointed. Alison did my hair, it was the worst experience I have ever had with Drybar. She rushed me out, I wasn't even in the salon for 20 min. My hair was still wet after she was done with the blowout. I asked if she can dry my hair a little more, she rolled her eyes and completely ignored me. I left with a frizzy and damped hair. At the end I asked the receptionist if I can speak to the manager and she told me Alison/ my stylist is the manager. Who am I supposed to speak to about my bad experience then?? . I made an appointment at least a week in advance for 9 am blowout on Sunday-(due to a large event I had to attend in NYC ) got a call 10 minutes BEFORE service saying they be running late 45 MINUTES - (who knows if it would be ever longer)...the person calling just kept repeating same story : " we got a callout", like 4 times ...I asked for a junior person or even someone just learning or a shampooer to do it- she continued to repeat story and not apologize. AWFUL for a service industry business. My opinion try if you just need for a nice hair for the day BUT NOT FOR AN EVENT. When DryBar first opened in Roslyn, they were amazing! The blow outs were consistent, the front desk was pleasant, they never failed to get you a drink, etc. The last few times I've been here, the front desk was consistently rude to customers. The blow outs were mediocre and inconsistent, and often times, I'll ask for a drink which was forgotten about. Drybar got itself fame for those little details and if tgey can't make those measures, why pay $50 for a blow out when I can support a local business? I've canceled my membership and don't plan on returning to this location. read more

I got a blowout at drybar with Roslyn F. I have no issues with the blowout itself. However, when I went to pay, the stylist asked if I wanted to leave a tip on my credit card. I told her to charge $10 for a tip- that's 17% which I thought was very generous. She emailed me the receipt and I saw she gave herself $20. I was 20 minutes away at that point so I called but one answered. I left multiple messages but no one called me back. I had an appt at the Roslyn location that I was running late for and had trouble finding the entrance so I tried to call and give a heads up and ask the best way to get in but no one would answer the phone. When I finally got in there was no one at the front desk so I waited for someone to come out and greet me. After waiting there for about 10 mins the girl Julia comes out from the back and tells me I am too late and no one can do my hair. I explained that I called multiple times and her response was "yah our phones don't ring but you could've sent an email". I am 8 months pregnant and have my baby shower tomorrow. Arrived about 14 minutes late, took an employee a little bit to come over and help us. After a back and forth of about 6 minutes (I'm being as nit picky about the time as they were being) they told us that they wouldn't be able to wash our hair, only dry styling with an iron because though they allow for a 10 minute grace period, we went over. I opted out of this -- as it would've made my hair flat (and they only charged $10 less). In the time it took them to badger me with why they couldn't do my hair... I could've have been washed -- at least. I also noticed that the receptionist didn't know how to check people in. It took her a while just to FIND another client's appointment.... only to tell her that her appointment was earlier. Then someone else came with a promo card she wasn't able to place. Just while I was sitting there, another client was super unhappy with her hair. Luckily another stylist came over and offered to fix it -- so that was nice. Honestly they deserve 2 stars but because they fixed the bad blow out I gave them another half and rounded up lol Honestly expected a lot more from this place. I'd have preferred a rushed wash or blow dry over what they offered. But there was no wiggle room which was understandable as it was a busy day -- but the handling of it all was just not professional. Also, not sure why we weren't offered anything to drink as other customers were. That being said, it is still a very pretty salon and it seems they use great products. I never like leaving negative reviews but this was my second time at the drybar Roslyn location. First time, my curls fell and my hair was straight 10 minutes after leaving. This time, I showed pictures and videos of exactly what I wanted and was told "no problem." My blowout came out the complete opposite. When I explained this isn't what the picture looked like, I was told "it's because you need a haircut. It's time." Which is so extraordinarily rude and untrue, as I just got a haircut a month prior. Part of my hair seems to be fried off, and sticking straight out at this point. I went to drybar to feel confident for an event I had, and left feeling self conscious and upset. I booked an Uptini and was coming from a long way away to attend a wedding nearby. I wanted pretty hair, nothing to fussy, a classy chignon. I showed the stylist what I was looking for, which was a pic from the Dry Bar instagram account. I should mention, I did show up with clean hair and did not need a wash and dry before styling, so we were able to start styling right away. I expected it to take about an hour, maybe a little more. The stylist seemed really unsure of how to start styling my hair. She did some very unusual tiny ponytails in the back and then teased my hair into a huge nest. When I say huge, I mean it was almost 6-8 inches off of my head. She then used the very thin, wide set hair pins to pin it in place, loosely. After an hour, she had only done about half of my hair, the very back. and it still felt very loose. I was patient, thinking that she was the professional and knew what she was doing, my hair would be lovely at the end, just relax, etc, etc. I asked her to change things twice though, because I was not happy with how it looked, both times for the front of my hair. She was kept brushing my hair down in the front and making it smooth and harsh looking in the front. My hair covered my ears and it was not elegant, or pretty or approachable. An hour later, she was done, which meant it took her 2 hours to do my hair. And it was still super loose. I wasn't very happy with it, but by then it was clear she did not know what she was doing, I had run out of time for them to fuss with it as the wedding was only 2 hours from then and I still needed to change and do makeup. Twenty minutes of driving later, not touching my hair at all, I could feel it coming undone. I had to stop at the store to pickup hair pins and hairspray so I could fix it before the wedding. I spent 30 minutes at the hotel fixing it, pinning and making it look nice. I ended up missing the ceremony because of those 30 minutes. I am VERY unhappy with the service and do not recommend Dry bar for an up-do. It is twice as expensive as a blow out and the stylist I had seemed far less experienced at it. 1 Star given for them being nice and 1 star given for a clean facility and the coffee I was given when I got there. read more

Even though my appointment wasn't on time ( about 25 minutes late) I will give them 5 stars because they made up for the service. I was given a glass of cold white wine ( my choice) as soon as I checked in with the girl at the front desk. There were cookies and other stuff to eat but I'm not too into that. My hair was washed by two different girls because they were very busy and trying to juggle all the late appointments. Once I was placed in my chair I also had 3 different girls switched as my stylist until they finally settled on one, Alessandra. She was amazing !! I had my wine as I watched a movie, read magazines. It cost $40 but unfortunately they are raising their prices as of June 12th to $45. First time experience to this dry bar- So, I start with this disclaimer that I am a licensed cosmetologist who changed career paths, as well, I have personally worked as a stylist in a blow dry bar. Making the appt online was difficult, so after multiple attempts I resorted to calling to make the appt, which sent me to a calling service , which seemed to be out of state, maybe even from another country- Requires a credit card to hold the appt-a little much for a blow dry, but I get time is money, and missed/cancelled appts May be an issue. We arrived 10 min early, and were seen approx 15 min later-we didn't mind, no rush and we were excited for the luxury. While I was being washed, no special massage-I expect one for a $50 blow dry, but no biggie at all. While being shampoo'd, we listened to the ladies complain about an employee being late, and begging not to be fired- Again, for a $50 blow dry, I don't want to hear problems. But no biggie. The stylists asked me how I want my hair styles, I replied "big and volume. I have no where to go, but I like my blow dry to last." Blow out had good tension, despite me noticing a technique I wouldn't have chose , I love to see what others can bring to the table and learn. She blew out the hair and She set 2 sections of hair at the top of the head- The hair was knotty, hair was shedding tremendously, not smoothed out enough, or voluminous enough, as well felt like their may have been residual condition, or another product leaving the hair feeling heavy. I complained,& the stylist curled the hair w maybe 1" curling iron, now with a Farrah Foset style- I thanked her , went to pay where the suggested tip was $15-there was a plaque that told me that‍ My personal and professional opinion is if you are going to charge so much money for a blow out, with a plaque that states how much to tip, "despite their really low prices",: A: perfect the blow out-it's all you offer. I arrived for my appointment on time yet I waited 20 minutes while the manager and a hair stylist talk at the front desk. Ridiculous. I finally asked the hair stylist how much longer I would have to wait and she then brought me to the back to wash my hair. All the people who work there appear to be miserable. No one smiles. As for the Bar Fly membership, I have multiple credits and I wanted to gift one to my friend. According to the manager, credits are non-transferable. Well..after 20 minutes has passed and there was 7 more woman waiting in the lobby now, that same stylist had to stop her blowout and take our names. Finally the front desk girl came up and told us they were about 20 mins behind. When I was finally taken, I told my stylist I was stressed because I had my engagement party that day. I felt like she had to rush the entire time because of the amount of people that were waiting. My blowout wasn't bad.. but I didn't love it. If you have somewhere to be, don't come here. The girl who did my hair did a nice job so this review isn't towards her or the staff there but more towards the owner. I used to go to the Woodbury location until they closed. My overall experience at the Roslyn location was not good... When I book an appointment at drybar I expect them to use their products as I love when my hair has that "drybar smell" when I leave. However the stylists there had to use tresemme shampoo, conditioner and hairspray because they were out of dry as brand products. They even had to dilute tresemme shampoo to make it stretch enough to shampoo my hair. I was not given a discount for this and I booked my appointment with the liquid glass treatment which they were low on and didn't have enough in the bottle to spray my whole head. When finished I prefer the money maker hairspray and sparkling soda shine spray which they had neither of and had to use tresemme hairspray. This is highly unprofessional and the owner needs to ensure their salon is stocked with products. As the only drybar on Long Island if you have enough people coming in to run out of product then you should have enough $ to keep the salon stocked. I will not be returning. read more

First of all Drybar's customer service is absolutely horrid. They are not helpful at all and incompetent it's always the same 2 people who answer the phones and have no idea what they're talking about. Second of all, I think there has only been one instance that I came to the shop and I didn't have to wait over 15 minutes past my appointment time to be taken care of. Meanwhile if you're late they charge you a 20$ cancellation fee and don't even service you no exceptions. Overall bad experience. My sister and I asked for braids we say on the Instagram page, hers was just a twist back, very simple. Our people didn't know how to do them so they went to find people who did. No one did. Then the manager said they were updos they don't have time to do. Just a twist back.... I love treating myself to a DryBar blow out when I can afford it, as they are $45 a blowout. Every single location is BEAUTIFUL. I was so happy to find out there was a location on Long Island as 99% of all DryBar locations are in Manhattan. It was slightly hard to find exactly where the enterance was, I didnt know at first it was inside the building it shares with SoulCycle, a Barre studio an a boutique. But I did like how it was right of the LIE by exit 37 and right next to the Northern State by exit 38... Prime location! I came in about a half hour early, as I hit less traffic then I anticipated, and immediately the receptionist offered me a drink. I love how DryBar offers wine and champagne!! Shayna did my hair, and she was so nice and listened to me exactly when I told her what I wanted. I also purchased a tiny travel sized version of their "Double Standard" two in Shampoo/Conditioner. Couldnt believe it was $13 for this tiny little travel size. Overall I had a pleasant experience as always with DryBar, and will continue to go there as I can! This was my first time visiting this DryBar location. I booked an appointment online which was very easy. You have to enter your CC info in case you cancel/no show but they do not charge you when you make the appointment. Came here on my lunch break since I had a holiday party right after work and wouldn't have time to go after. My job is literally 5-8 minutes down the road from here so it's very convenient. Like previous reviews, the entrance can be a little confusing. Just enter right under the big sign that says 205 and walk all the way straight down, you'll see DryBar's sign and entrance. There's other stores/vendors here- like SoulCycle. When I arrived the front desk assistant was very helpful and friendly. She offered me a beverage right away. The champagne was ice cold and a great touch to relax! My stylist was finishing her prior client and took me about 5 minutes after my appointment was for, not too bad but I was on my break so wanted to be as quick as possible! She sat me down first to see what exactly I wanted. The look-books were sticky and dirty so I decided to just verbally tell her. She then took me to the back to get washed. This area is so cute! Very clean. Loved that I can put my feet up. Then she blew me out and then used the curler. My hair came out great and she asked if I wanted her to put some product in. All the products used smelt great and held my hair. I ended up being out of the work office for a total of 1 hour & 5 minutes, a little more than I was hoping for since DryBar online while making the appointment that it estimates only taking 35 minutes, but now I know for next time. I have a lot of hair and she ALWAYS manages to do it PERFECTLY. I have recommended her to countless people who also love her and the way she does her blowouts. She listens to what you want and tries her best to execute. She's honest if she thinks a specific hairstyle won't work for your type of hair (ie - if it won't hold well). The vibe here is not good. Clients are uppety pretentious LI ladies. Front desk staff seems clueless and like deer in headlights. This is my 3rd DryBar location I have been to and I was not impressed. I walked in to chaos. A client was yelling at the 2 receptionists because of a long wait time. Another client walked out angry because she also wasn't taken in on time. All this in 2 minutes and I wasn't even greeted at the desk yet. The layout of this store is strange. It's not the usual spacious U shaped layout. There is not enough room. It's like it was an afterthought and they squeezed it into the space. I was taken back to the shampoo room and waited... and waited. No one came. Finally my stylist arrived. The shampoo sink had hair in it- ick! Then I was sat at a station with a dirty coffee mug from the previous client. My stylist seemed pre-occupied. She kept pausing to check what was happening in the front. I asked if she was the manager. She said no but people just go to her to solve problems. She took forever to check me out. I actually had to say I was in a hurry and could she please run my card. She did and ok job with my hair but two hours later is was flat and looked like I could have done it myself. My styling is always incredible. If I was just reviewing on the stylists I would give a five. Everyone there does a fantastic job. My complaint is the manager is very rude. I may have to find another salon to go to for blowouts just because of this. To give some context, I have a lot of hair and always put this in a comment when booking to be considerate of the stylist and other customers. However, the manager very rudely told me that I need to call and book a double appointment which I've never been told and have been to this location multiple times. I don't mind doing this but the way she spoke to me was completely uncalled for and left me upset after a fantastic appointment. Maybe the manager needs to learn how to speak to customers with respect UPDATE:: So the customer service department reached out and we had a very meaningful conversation. All I wanted out of this was for some sort of training to happen and just for this to be a teachable moment. I hope this is the case and I was assured that this is will happen. Let me start off by saying my hair came out great. And for how my hair came out it would be 4.5 stars. But for overall experience I'm stuck between 2-3 stars. I was really worried after reading reviews that my appointment would start late, but it didn't and they took me a few mins after I arrived. Woohoo I sat down and was asked what I was looking to do. Yeah this is great that my stylist was asking me what I wanted but I did kind of want to look at their "menu" which was never mentioned or given to me. While getting my hair washed it felt a bit rushed and my stylist had fairly long tips on her fingernails where at times she kept scratching me like the back of my neck (ouch). I was then brought over to get my hair blown out. After sitting down and looking at the mirror I could only make out from my eyes to the top of my head in the mirror so I couldn't even see my hair during the process (I'm 5ft 2in). I did feel at times the stylists talked too much to each other where I felt my hair wasn't getting undivided attention. The brush my stylist was using also should've been replaced because the little beads at the end of the bristles were basically all gone which made the brush scratchy thus scratchy the side of my face at times. I think the girls who work here should have somewhat of a dress code, not even a uniform but maybe all black or something. You couldn't really tell who worked there unless you saw their little apron and some workers were just dressed super casual I.e- cropped leggings, toms for shoes and a batman tshirt. It would just look more professional to have a form of a dress code. Would definitely make the place feel nicer. Half way through my seat was turned and I was watching another stylist work on another client. The stylist sneezed into her hand, paused, and resumed working on her clients hair. WHAT. All she had to do was go and wash her hands and come back. If that happened to be my stylist I probably would've said something. I did however enjoy watching a movie as my hair was getting worked on. And my blowout with curls was done fairly fast and came out great. I would not return here though, unless I got an excellent deal of half off or something. They offer complimentary beverages including wine and mimosas, coffee, water, etc. I got my hair blown out for my engagement photos recently and was so happy with how it looked. Clean, shiny, and exactly the style I wanted. I got the "mai tai" aka loose beach waves. My stylist (wish I could remember her name!!) did a great job and my hair held up great despite the August heat. All services are $45 except for updos and unless you add an enhancement. Overall the service was a pleasant experience, Dry Bar has perfected its' customer service and for the service they get a perfect score of 5. They were timely. The staff were very professional. I was offered wine and tea (wonderful service). But Because the end-product is complete satisfaction with my hair, Dry Bar did not meet the mark. The stylist was great and her technique was on point. However, a stylist is as good as the products she uses and unfortunately Dry Bar's horrible hair products made my hair lack luster.
