I have gotten my hair blown out here twice, both experiences were not good. I chose to get my hair done here out of convenience because I work right down the block. The first time I went, the receptionist was very nice and I purchased some headbands from their selection. The hair dresser who did my hair was not very nice on the other hand. I felt she was very rude right from the beginning. I have had my hair blown out many times, this was the first time I felt my scalp being burned from the blow dryer being too hot. I had mentioned it to the hair dresser several times and no changes were made. My hair was extremely frizzy once the blow drying was complete and I could see all the little broken hairs from the heat being too hot. I went back a second time hoping for a better experience and to give them a second chance. I had gotten busy at work and called them approximately 40 minutes before my appointment time to let them know I may be a few minutes late. I ended up getting there 7 minutes late to be exact. The hair dresser who did my hair made it very clear to me that I was late, as did the receptionist, several times. The entire experience was extremely uncomfortable and I felt awful them having to then rearrange "several" appointments due to me being 7 minutes late. Meanwhile, there was one other person in the salon getting their hair done. After me listening to my hair dresser and the receptionist go back and forth throughout my entire blow out, she proceeds to tell me she won't have enough time to finish my hair. There was one customer waiting (whose hair was already washed by the way) in an otherwise empty salon. She went through not even half my hair with a few curls and told me that was all she had time to do. I thanked her, paid for my hair, and tipped (knowing in my head I would never go back there). I STRONGLY advise against going to this place. There are much better places in the area that are kinder, better at what they do, and more efficient. read more

What an awful experience. I arrived 15 minutes for my appointment and was abruptly told I did not have an appointment - despite having a confirmation email. I was turned away. I left 5 messages for the manager, she never called back. I called their corporate offices and was told " the matter has been taken care of". It had not. I am a monthly membership member and cannot cancel my membership fast enough. The blowouts are fair at best and the only reason I went to them is their early morning hours. But I will never be back. The stylist who turned me away was rude as well. read more

First time at a "dry bar". I had a very nice gal..Bianca. I tipped her well btw. Anyway, got what I asked for, but the curl/wave style finished at 3:15 was somewhat to almost out by 5:00. Event started at 5:30. Omg! $55+ $20 tip .. not sure why !! It was completely stick straight.. actually straighter than I had ever seen my hair!! Very very disappointed.. I recently tried this place for hair & makeup because I recently moved to the area & always pass it & I love me a good quick blow dry but unfortunately I wouldn't be returning. My makeup was horrible, the lady who did my makeup was definitely not an expert more like starting out & I felt like a Guinea pig. I'm not one to complain so I just left it as is. I take my blow outs very seriously and I must say I absolutely love Blo Blow Dry Bar. I particularly love this location (Greenvale) - I've had great experiences with every stylist I've had to date and the end result always comes out better than expected. I typically explain how I want a straight blow out with fullness and not pinned straight to my head and they nail it every time. Once in awhile I'll switch it up and do brush curls, which always comes out great as well. I tried to upload some pictures, but there seems to some technical difficulties when doing so! read more

I waited over 15 minutes to even get taken, no front desk person, so you have to give credit card information to stylist which I don't trust. No one managing this place. I was on time, but had to sit for 15 to 20 minutes waiting for a stylist to finish as two others sat around. The lady at the desk did not tell my stylist what I had ordered, so I did not receive head massage, had to ask for the deep conditioning treatment, they left it on my head for 4 minutes as opposed to 10. Lack of communication between the stylists. I had to request a revision of my bill, per the services received. However my blowout was nicely done. read more

I have to be honest, I thought long and hard about leaving a review here, and decided that I would because if it happened to me it could happen to anyone. I booked my wedding make up through Blo, I wanted something close to my house (backyard wedding). I had previously had my makeup done there before and it was great. But the day of my wedding the makeup artist NEVER showed up, and I sat there in tears with people coming over to me and calling their own makeup artists to see if someone could help. Blo never apologized or offered anything as recompense. An artist (different than my original one) eventually came but at that point my entire day had been delayed and everything was thrown off (still had a great wedding, but what a terrible way to start). I will never, on principle, go back, and will never recommend. read more

They had enough hair dressers to accommodate such a large group. We were there for less than two hours with beautiful blow outs. I went there for the first time and had the worst experience! Made an appointment with a woman name Olga who had to take my credit card to make an appointment. I found that very strange because this isn't an app- only type of appointment this is in person so why leave a credit card? Even though I discussed I had a bad experience leaving my credit card the girl had no problem asking me 2 more times to repeat my credit card information as it was lost. I had to leave where I was and run and get my card information again to give to her after I already felt uncomfortable leaving it with a stranger. Fast forward to the next day... I receive a receipt in my inbox that I paid in cash. I look at my debit card app to check and I see I was also charged on my credit card! I have the receipt that I paid in cash. The owner, Gene, has still not followed up with me to say she apologizes for the fact that I got charged or that this was a horrible first experience. Instead she has some random girl that knows nothing call me from Connecticut saying they don't see it on their end. I took multiple snapshots and emailed it to no avail. I am shocked that Gene let this happen when her other franchises failed. Hope you get this warning :) read more

I am blown away by blo glen cove road ! I am extremely fussy when it comes to who does my hair ! Than again what North Shore Girl isn't !! If your like me and have hair extensions ... You know how hard it is to find the right stylist who actually wants to do your hair . Every time I have gone to blo I am so relaxed and know that these dolls will always take care of my hair . My go to blo dry girl is Ashley A... She is amazing . She nails every blo style to the tee . My blow out with curls always lasts for days ! She is an extension master . Blowing through my hair with ease. Blo was also amazing when I booked them for event hair and makeup ! My hair was amazing and stayed full and bouncy the whole day . Another stylist Ashley did my hair that day . The makeup artist blo provided me with was great I got so many compliments ! The service was prompt and I was out within 2 hours ! The front desk service at blo is amazing as well. Becky is such a doll and always gets me set up perfectly ! She is a true gem to the whole blo experience . I called to ask them " How much would it be to have somebody go over my dry hair with a blow dryer and a brush " I already had my hair done but it got frizzy after a couple days and I have to go somewhere. It's not a hard task . I'm not asking for anything fancy and I. Don't need my hair washed . SO ...... how much will this be ????? $ 39 DOLLARS!!!!!! It was my first time ever calling that place and I live really close by . If she told me $ 25 I would have made an appointment.and would have been a regular customer. i was really torn on writing a review but felt I needed to. Let me start out by saying The stylist was a very lovely person but i don't believe she was experienced enough. when she was washing my hair she turn the water on and the water sprayed on my face and shirt. I know it was by accident but that has never happened to me. i showed her photos of what I wanted the blowout to look like and some of the photos were from this location. I thought they were simple but she had a hard time doing it. Eventually I told her to stop because it was taking too long. I said just add full big Curls. I was there for an hour and 15 minutes. I've had updos for a wedding take longer. I chose Blo Glen Cove Road as the salon for my Wedding hair and for my bridesmaids and the mothers to get styled and I am so happy I did! They flawlessly organized an itinerary for the nine of us and sent individual e-mail confirmations to each person. The women got a mix of blow outs and up-dos and everyone was ecstatic with their looks! It's a great place to go with a group and we were all able to sit near each other and enjoy the experience together. They also serve champagne, which added to the celebration! :) I also went there for my Wedding rehearsal dinner hair and make-up, which came out amazing! I've been back many times since for regular blow outs and I always leave extremely happy. Their online reservation system makes it simple to schedule appointments, but they're also lovely and accommodating whenever I call (once I was running late in awful traffic and they were able to reschedule my appointment several times, which I'm sure was frustrating for them but they didn't show it). I regularly go for blowouts in NYC at Drybar and a mix of top salons and the service/styling done at Blo is definitely the best I've had anywhere and is well priced. I had an EXCELLENT experience here a couple hours ago! It was a MADHOUSE in there today with everyone getting blowouts for NYE! But the service was still 10/10. I was "checked in" and offered prosecco or water (in a cute bottle with a pink label) immediately. Everyone was very courteous and professional. I LOVE my hair! The stylist did an excellent and thorough job. She was very upbeat even though I could tell how busy they were! Note: Parking is around back! Turn on the street before the shopping center and there is a lot there :) To the reviewer below, shame on you! Why should they hold a spot for you when you may or may not show up? And to leave a negative review based on your hard-headedness? If you don't feel comfortable leaving a CC on file for your reservation, they probably don't feel comfortable holding it for you! I got a FANTASTIC blowout from Ashley. She was super friendly and SO fast. I was able to grab a next day appointment at a variety of times. They're open earlier and later than most other salons, and the $40 price point is totally reasonable. My blowout lasted well through the weekend, and she listened to exactly what I wanted. I have pretty limp, but heavy tresses, and she gave me some lovely Kate Middleton-like volume and shape. Can't wait for my next one! read more

Came here before my engagement shoot and asked for big waves. She even asked for pictures so I showed her. I told her my hair doesn't hold curls well and that my hair gets frizzy some times. She said no problem. When I left, my hair was okay.... the top of my head had a bunch of fly always and was frizzy. She knew and put a little spray but it did nothing. I told Her my pics were at 6 and she said that my curls would "fall out into nice waves". I went to get my makeup done and by the time I got home (1.5-2 hours later) the curls were completely gone. It was pin straight with frizz on top. Definitely a waste of $55 read more

went there on Sat for a waterfall braid and spoke to the front desk that I wanted someone with experience because I have been there once before and was not happy with the blowout So the operator did a nice braid in the back but the front view looked unfinished. When I complained she told the braid out and used the curling iron to give me ringlets front and back! Still no style just left it like that What is with this place.?They seem under experienced and $40 later I will not try them again. And had to go to another salon to have it fixed! read more

I have been here many times for blowouts. The last 4 haven't been so great. I have a medium length bob that I like to get wanded to have beachy waves and the stylists can't get it right. One time, I actually left with spiral curls. I am going to keep coming back hoping that my review will insure that the stylists are trained the same across the board. read more

Love this place ! All the girls are great ! I've been there many times & had different stylist but they are all very talented. Wouldn't go anywhere else to keep me looking good !
