Called them because my elderly aunt was getting water in her basement anytime there was heavy rainfall. I explained that it was a fieldstone foundation and the guy I spoke with said "no problem." The gentleman showed up when he said he would, which was great that I didn't have to waster 2 hours in traffic for nothing. However, the oddness ensued quickly. Every time I showed him a part of the basement, he'd say "Great. I'll take a look and find you if I have any questions" but his "inspections" would only take 2 minutes. So, we'd walk to the next part of the basement, he'd say he'd let me know when he was done, then I'd wait a minute or two and then proceed to the next section. (I swear I'm not making this up.) It was really odd. After his inspection, I said "what do you think?" He said they don't really do much with fieldstone foundations (which would have been very beneficial to tell me over the phone) but that he was going to talk with his boss and that I shouldn't worry because they wouldn't "leave me high and dry" (no pun intended.) He then excused himself once again to call someone and then a few minutes later comes back to tell me there isn't really anything they can do and we should contact someone who specializes in fieldstone foundation repair and then leaves. I don't know how long I scratched my head after that encounter. Drycrete might be a magnificent company to do business with and their work might be first rate but, from my single encounter with them, I was not remotely impressed and it was a grand waste of my time. read more

We had some issues with drainage near our basement windows and a broken underground gutter pipe. I knew Drycrete did interior work (French drains, sump pumps etc) but wasn't sure they could help us. So glad I called. Jason came and assured us they could help. They installed 2 window wells for our basement windows and installed a drywall in our front yard, then tied both drainpipes to it. Don't trust these people. I paid $14k for French drains/vapor barrier in our basement in August, were told we wouldn't need to run a dehumidifier, and now we have puddles of water and mold growing on our items we store down there (never mind that the main sump pump never seems to run reliably, the back up pump is doing the work and the "handy" app no longer shows me what the run time looks like. We called them, sent pictures and they tell us its condensation from bad air flow. And guess what...they sell something to remedy that. We were never told condensation would be a concern with the vapor barrier, and they're trying to upsell us a commercial dehumidifier. I'm beyond annoyed and wish I never did business with them. When I bought my house I knew the sump pump needed replaced. As luck would have it, the basement took on a few inches of water the night before the appointment. I called them frantically the next morning and Greg assured me they could take care of it and replace the sump pump as scheduled. They guys were great and got the job done. The new sump pump is working well. The only issue is the battery backup is supposed to connect to my wifi to alert me to issues. I cannot figure out how to connect it. I asked Greg who suggested the office could help. I called the office and they referred me to an IT phone number. I haven't called them yet, but I wish the directions were more clear or the path to get the help was more streamlined. Love this company! In 2021, they installed a French drain system in my basement and it has been dry ever since. I can finally sleep through thunderstorms instead of getting up to check and see if the basement is flooded. At every point of the process they were incredibly professional, thorough, and considerate. They answered all of my questions and explained every step of the process clearly without talking down to me. At the last minute, I asked them to add a small drain for my dehumidifier, which they did. Last month--after 3 years--my tenant reported that water was backing up in the dehumidifier drain. One word: Exceptional. My standards for construction are extremely high, and Jason and his team surpassed my expectations. Got french drains along the inside perimeter of the whole basement and a sump pump installed in January. Tropical Storm Elsa was the first serious test of the system. It's outstanding. The pump has been working hard for a week now, every few minutes, removing a lot of underground water below my basement. My basement is completely dry. Excellent!!! If we could rate Drycrete with more than 5 stars, we would. They do amazing work! We decided to dig the entire basement of our triple decker out, replace old cast iron leaking pipes and sewer lines, reinforce structural supports for the entire building, put a perimeter drain and sump pump to stop water from coming in, and fix cracks in our foundation. Aside from replacing the cast iron pipes, Drycrete did it all. Their ongoing communication was incredible-- timely and detailed about who would be at our house, when, and what they would be doing on a specific day; they worked fast, hard and hit or beat every single deadline we hoped they would meet; they found ways to save us money whenever they could; and they helped us problem solve and come up with creative solutions to issues as they came up. We worked with Jason from the beginning to the end of the project, and at one point, he came up with a solution that even our structural engineer hadn't thought of, saving us time and money, all the while going above and beyond our expectations for what we would get out of the project. At the end of all the work, we have a MUCH better basement with level, smooth and dry floors, a structurally reinforced building, an excellent drainage system to handle water from storms, and complete faith that these are the guys for anyone who needs foundation or basement work done. I can't recommend DryCrete Waterproofing enough! Jason, the owner, is the ultimate professional. He came out and gave us an estimate for the installation of a sump pump system. He did not try to push us to do a bigger job (i.e. doing a french drain) like other companies did prior to his visit. One of the best experiences I've had, from the initial contact through to the quote and then on to the work. We had a full interior french drain and sump installed to deal with water coming up through the base of the wall during heavy rains. Jason was informative, patient, incredibly flexible and willing to help us figure out a few issues with our basement that had nothing to do with the drainage, including removal of an old sink and pipe, and the covering up of a leaky window well. They went into a crawl space, dug a trench, and put crushed stones all around. After getting about 8 quotes for waterproofing my basement, I went with Dry Crete. The reason: out of the legitimate contenders they were on the lower end, about $6,000 for my job. John the sales guy was friendly and professional. The Great: NO WATER in my basement since job completed. The Good: On time and on budget (kinda - see below, 2nd pump) Lifetime warranty (although haven't used it) workers were friendly and John was there every day to monitor the job, and all were respectful of my home The Bad: After digging the trench, John suggested a 2nd sump pump on the opposite side of the home because of the high water table. I had told him of the high water tables before, but he was surprise at how high it was. So the 2nd pump was going to cost and extra $400 dollars or so (I got this done 18months ago, so forget the exact amount). When I told him of the quote for waterproofing the basement, he told me that was for the one pump. I reminded him of the lifetime guarantee, and if I didn't get the 2nd pump and got water in my basement, he would be on the hook for coming in and doing the repairs anyway. He said I was correct but they would not be responsible for loss or damages to my belongings (partially finished carpeted basement). So after negotiating a bit on price, we settled on the approx $400 for the second pump. About 10 months after the install, my second pump was running all day and all night....so I was happy he talked me into it UNTIL I had a friend over and he noticed the pump continuously going off, even in early summer during a dry spell. He suggested the pump was installed too low, below the water grade and volunteered to cut some pvc, and put the pump on a 2 inch brick to raise it. When he did, the pumping stopped and there is no flooding, which means he was correct, the original pump installed by Dry Crete was too low. My only fear is the wear and tear on the pump for operating 24 hrs a day for months and months. The Worst: He talked me out of battery back ups! Not sure why. He had heard me talking about having an electrician in the family and suggested I save hundreds and hundreds of dollars by having the electrician install some wiring to a generator. I questioned him on it, and he assured me it would be easy and much cheaper for me. Worst thing I ever did (but I figured he was right, as why would he talk me out of doing it - more $ for him...but now I assume he had another job lined up and wanted to finish mine - shame on me). As it turns out, it is a somewhat strange job for a general electrician and requires pulling a permit, etc. So after two storms that required me being home and awake to plug the pumps into a generator, I emailed Dry Crete for a price on installing the battery back ups. I also emailed other companies for quotes and awaiting prices. Not something I want to be doing after getting the original job done. Summary: THERE IS NO WATER IN MY BASEMENT (which is the most important thing) There were others in the same price range, if I had to do it over again, I would go with anther company, and spend an extra $500 or so dollars. read more
