I dropped off a jacket and a skirt and it was ready to pick up by Thursday and I received a notice on Wednesday that it was done. The items came back great and the price was comparable to other dry cleaners that I've been to in the past. I'll be back in the future since this location is very close by to where I frequent. Incredibly unprofessional. They're located in my apartment building, so I used them thinking they were convenient, but after waiting 4 days for them to return 3 suit jackets, they all came back smelling sweaty and with dust residue on the outside. I don't think they did anything, just put plastic bags over them. I finally managed to get in touch with them, and they offered to "try again" - ha, like I would give them another chance! Dryy does a fine job with regular straightforward dry cleaning. But do not try to submit any garments for repairs, or you will regret it. I've had multiple instances now where Dryy's "repair" service either fell woefully short or actively ruined my garment. For example, there was a small tear in the back of my dress, and I submitted it to Dryy for repair. It was returned to me with a large patch very visibly sewn on top of the small tear -- as if that would make the dress wearable. There is no way to reverse the damage they did to the dress by sewing on this patch, so unfortunately I had to throw away one of my favorite dresses. Moreover, they have not yet issued me a refund for the "work." Likewise, I submitted a leather purse for repair, and it was finally returned to me months later with a note that the repair could not be done. And I've had to follow up to make sure I am not charged for this. You also have to be very careful that Dryy does not overcharge you for services. They automatically dry clean any garments you submit for repair -- even if you have only requested repair services, they will still charge you for dry cleaning on top of that. You have to pay close attention to your receipts from Dryy to catch this, and then send them a follow-up email to get the dry cleaning charge removed. In my experience, Dryy is an untrustworthy company, and I would recommend taking your business elsewhere. read more

Before February 2025, their prices were at least reasonable for what you got. They are reliable, and you can trust them with your dry cleaning needs. However, they don't do a particularly good job with sewing up tears - their fixes are not subtle or nice. I almost never write bad reviews. I used Dryy DC delivery service at my old apartment building - the Sonnet on U Street. It was OK for a bit. Their prices are not very clear - their website says one thing but prices are completely different. It was usually off by 50 cents or a dollar, nothing crazy. I'd commonly get credit for a few dollars by calling them and complaining. At the end of last winter I gave them 3 $250+ sweaters and kind of forgot about them. Randomly 6 months later they arrived one sweater a month. I decided not to use them anymore... I recently moved to Union Market and the only dry cleaning in the neighborhood is a brick-and-mortar Dryy store. I gave it one more try. To my surprise, one of my 3 shirts was $14.25. Getting a blazer dry cleaned is listed at $7.20. Surely there's no way a shirt should be $14.25?! The guy started yelling at me saying that my shirts will get torn up because I use the less expensive service next time and that he wont be responsible for my shirt. Sir, I don't even know which service I used or what your method for determining why one of the three shirts should be $14.25 and the other two $2.59! My $2.59 shirts are actually more expensive than the $14.25 shirt?? I asked to get a refund on my card, he took my card and then told me he couldn't do it. He offered me a $10 bill (kind of weird) and said I would have to sign something for him? I refused to give him my signature and will be instead disputing the charge with AMEX. DON'T USE DRYY. I dropped laundry off at the Morse St location and was told they "read the labels" and wash/dry accordingly. Not being one to take chances with getting my clothes shrunk, I additionally sent in several notes through the portal and spoke to the woman at the store to remind her to dry on low heat. When my clothes were returned ALL OF MY ITEMS WERE SHRUNK A FULL SIZE... Lululemon leggings, expensive denim, Vuori & Athleta joggers - all dried on high heat and terribly cared for. At least $700 of pants now unusable. I sent in several messages, left voicemails and never heard back from "Sandy" who allegedly runs the admin office. After being ignored for months and having to contact the B.B.B., someone from this company finally contacted me about the laundry they lost. Their response was that they were going to "generously" give me $100 for items that cost $300 to purchase about 5 months before they lost them and silk shams that were $40 each. He stated that this was twice what he was supposed to give due to the year of depreciation. As if 6 months of that year was not spent with them having the laundry, or some store was going to sell me sheets, towels and shams at a "depreciated" price. That it was not going to cost me that $100 just to cover the difference in the price then of replacing what I had to replace now. It cost me $350 to replace the sheets and towels alone. I will NEVER be able to replace the 4 silk pillow shams they lost as they were custom made. But hey...here is $100 to replace the things we lost that were perfectly good and did not need to be replaced....This place is beyond disappointing. If my experience was a one off I may call it an "accident" but I have seen other residents laundry go missing from this place, had to call them about it, and been told they did not have the laundry even though we watched the delivery driver pick it up. Working in the service field, I know how painful poor reviews can be, but my overall experience warrants sharing. Disclosure: I had been using their service when they were branded Total Cleaners & I received a discount due to my company being one of their partners. Now, I had been in correspondence with a service associate regarding services/pieces - there was a scroll notepad paper stapled through my dress' leather collar, notes regarding damaged items that weren't previously damaged, items not laundered/dry cleaned, etc.,. Foolishly, I would pick up my 'cleaned' items & never check to see if all items were accounted for, properly cleaned, damaged, etc.,. In fact, blankets, featherbed, etc., were placed right in storage. Nearly one year later, I discover my 2 cashmere Restoration Hardware 22x22 pillow cases shrunken. I paid $195+ each for these cases. Beyond repair! I have a matching throw without it's accompanying pillows. If you could understand how long I saved for these items and how much I coveted them, hopefully you can understand why I'm writing this review. I'm choosing to pay full price with a local cleaner than continue my discounted service w Dryy. I guess the takeaway is...ALWAYS check your items. And, my advice to Dryy is to own up to what you've damaged. Also, if [Dryy] believe items are damaged upon receiving them for cleaning & the customer didn't make note, document with pictures and contact them immediately. Having lived in the Capitol Hill area for over a decade, I have tried numerous dry cleaners in the city. Most are dirty, smell like chemicals, and have poor customer service. Rarely were my clothes ready on time and often times I'd have damage to shirt buttons or cuffs. Enter Dryy. A few months ago, I was having lunch with a colleague at Union Market and drove past Dryy. It must have just opened because I hadn't noticed it before but was intrigued because it looked clean from the outside. Having just come off another bad DC cleaners experience with another damaged shirt, I was intrigued. Walking into the place I was pleasantly surprised. It was very clean, didn't smell like a science experiment, and the manager was friendly. We spoke about the services they offer, and I told him my frustrations with other cleaners in the area. He explained how most cleaners are just a middleman between the customer and the cleaner and don't own their own cleaning facility. Dryy has their own local facility and handles every aspect of the transaction. That means they are accountable for every detail and can customize how you want your clothes cleaned, from start to finish. I told him I'd be back at the end of the week to drop of my laundry. And I was glad I did. The service they offer is great and my clothes were ready a day early. How did I know? Because they texted me. They also offer pickup and delivery service, which is even more convenient. Just schedule a pickup and drivers will collect your cleaning and drop them off to you when ready. I primarily go because they put a lot of care into everything. After several months I have never had any damaged pieces and I haven't heard any complaints from the folks in my neighborhood who I have recommended and who now go to Dryy. If you live near Union Market or H Street, give them a try. You will not be disappointed! read more

Dryy DC is a very impressive cleaning service! Their pickup & delivery service makes it super convenient to get clothes cleaned. They did an excellent job removing stains and they're extremely conscientious! They try very hard to thoroughly remove every stain (pre-treating where appropriate), and were apologetic when one stain that was just too deep -- my fault, not theirs -- couldn't be totally removed (yet was improved and much less visible). They continue to charge my card monthly, and put the administrative work on me. I initially loved this company and even gave them high praise to the management companies of residential properties that I am associated with. At first the customer service was stellar. However, they have continued to bill my card for many months now after a subscription service was cancelled. As a busy professional, the effort of going through my emails to document the last time I used the service and to contest the charge with my credit card company was just too much. I shouldn't have to spend 90 min on their administrative error without so much as a courtesy discount on my next order. However, it gets worse. They billed my card again this month and asked me to send my statement to them because they have no record of the billing. REALLY???? Am I going to have to cancel my credit card to ensure that they don't bill it again? Are they so disorganized that they can't even search their own transactions? Or maybe they are just too lazy to do their own research? I almost never write bad reviews, but I feel like this is just wrong and some sort of action needs to be taken.
