I've visited this DSW a couple of times now, and I don't mind it. I don't think DSW is as great as it used to be when I shopped at locations 15-20 years ago, but this location is still really large, offers a wide range in terms of style and price, and is pretty organized. Not a bad place if you're looking for a particular shoe or shoes. It's definitely worth a browse if you're in the market for more of a budget shoe, although maybe not if you're looking for a higher end shoe. read more

Another successful shopping trip to DSW. Great sales and savings with Member Rewards. I was able to find many black flats to choose from and settled on a very comfortable, yet stylish, pair for only $25. DSW always has member perks, such as free totes or umbrellas or great coupons with dollars off. The cashier was very friendly and personable. read more

This location in my opinion is way better than the one in Towson. However the selection is somewhat better here too. I came to browse and was able to find a pair of shoes that I loved, even getting a high recommendation from a coworker. The clearance however had nothing to desire. The selection in men and women vary from dress to casual to athletic. At check out, I had the nicest clerk. She was able to help me with my dsw points and card. Haven't been in here in ages. Walked out with a bundle of six crew socks and pair of clearance shoes. My wife bagged two pairs of clearance shoes. The store is huge with row upon row of shoes and a back wall full of of clearance shoes. Had all time in the world to shop and the employees were helpful. For the GIANT size of this store its odd that 90% of the time that I visit this location I don't find ANYTHING that is even close to what I came in wanting. I go to this location whenever I need shoes except for running shoes. Angie, the cashier, needs to learn some friendly customer service. She was a cashier today & acted like I was bothering her & it was like she had an attitude with me personally! Didn't crack one smile either. I was super chipper & even tried to make conversation and she wasn't about it with me at all. But she had no problem talking to her co-workers the entire time next to her at their registers. When I put my chip card in it only had 2 options which are both debits. I asked, how do I do credit. She's like it is credit (with her continued attitude). Umm it clearly says debit so I have no idea & she surely wasn't offering any explanation. She handed me my receipt and I SAID THANK YOU!! She then goes, "mmm hmmm." Wow. Really?? The lady manager that helped me was so very nice & helpful & I got an awesome sale so this trip was very conflicting!! It only got a "3" cause of sale on boots & super friendly & helpful manager with the short hair. Management you need to address the customer service. The staff here really makes a difference. I've gone here twice and they didn't have my size, but both times the staff offered to look around at other DSWs and found the shoe in my size. They asked the other location to hold the shoe for me. A shoe is a shoe, and you can get the same pairs most anywhere, so service like this makes a difference. read more

Enter the shoe coliseum of women with glazed-over eyes. This, from a guy's perspective, would conceivably be a great place to pick up women. But realistically, when it comes to miles of pretty discount women's shoes and man shopping-the shoes are going to win out. Shopping here for a man is pretty straight-forward. 98% of the store is devoted to the female persuasion, and the other 2% is that little brown and black strip of kickers at the back of the store--Makes it simple. Don't get me wrong-I love the store. There's usually some hip house music that makes everyone want to strut around trying on shoes like some fashion model. Now, if you go with your woman, remember these three words when she shows you a pair that she likes: "Those are cute!" I've never hear the word "cute" so many times as when I'm there. I hear all sorts of descriptions of shoes from women in there--everything from "those are two hour shoes...hmm, stripper heels." to "those are SO cute!" The sales associates range from bored to overly eager. Guess it's a pain to put those display shoes back up at a 30 degree angle. I always try to help them out...cuz I feel guilty. I got a pair of nice Born's the other week. Yeah, they're brown, comfortable. Oh! And I got a free pair of those little foot condoms they give away for those dummies who come to a shoe store without socks...ahem. read more

Heaven . . . I'm in heaven . . . I have such a hard time finding shoes that fit because my feet are extremely narrow. I found that Italian shoes tend to be cut narrower, but of course they are crazy expensive. I can find their shoes here for good prices. I'm not the kind of girl who pays over $40 for a pair of shoes unless they are extremely necessary/specific. A big selection for men and women, and you have to love the clearance section! Just be prepared to try on lots of shoes and walk down many aisles. :) Also, it helps to become a member so you're informed about sales and you get coupons for money/discounts on shoes. read more

DSW stores are always great because there are simply soooo many shoes! A girls dream, right? But what I have noticed about this store, is that they very quickly change "shoe season" and I often can't find what I'm looking for. By September, they already had the sandals gone and the boots on display. Now don't get me wrong, I love boots, but I needed some dressy sandals in September and there were barely anything left. But they always have sneakers and formal dress shoes, no matter what the season is, so that's a good thing. It would be nice to see a little cheaper prices though or more deal options like the Buy One, Get One specials that other shoe stores offer. read more

I love DSW, but I always feel like I can only find something I like when I DON'T need it. This isn't really DSW's fault, though, as much as my dislike for certain trends (last year's open toe boots? Why ruin a perfectly good boot by chopping off the toe??). That being said, they very rarely will run out of your size, and now they offer the option to order online from the store in a different color or size, and it's shipped to you for free. I haven't done that, so I don't know how well it works, but it's a great idea and super convenient. They also have a clearance section organized by size and half size (about an aisle per size), where you'll find a lot of ugly shoes that no one wanted, but you'll also come across a great bargain if you dig! read more

I came in here after work to find a nice pair of sneakers, let's just say 90% of the store is catered to women and men have a little corner to look through. The men's selection is completely horrible, all the shoes look exactly the same. And the shoes online you will definitely not find at this location. Sorry, but I'm going to have to give this location two stars. The shoes are obviously marked up and overpriced. A quick check on the internet found the same shoes on zappos.com and other places for 10-20% less. I found a pair of boots I liked in the clearance section, marked down from $105 by 30%, they wont haggle with you on price, I asked a manager for an extra 10% off, but they wouldn't budge. Have fun in this economy when people realize there are cheaper places to go. I will be enjoying those boots when I get them in the spring marked at over 50% off from my local DSW.... read more

My husband has wide and extra large feet, yet can purchase comfortable shoes at the Hunt Valley DSW. I purchased Dansko clogs, with an alligator pattern, for only $65. Goodwill's website had them posted at $81.00. They carry the best shoe brands, at reasonable pricing. I quit shopping at Nordstrom and pricey comfort shoe stores due to DSW. I do not require assistance from staff since I am a bargain shopper. read more
