She prefers that you make an appointment, but will do what she can to accommodate you if you have to walk-in. I get a no-chip pedicure and dip nails. Someone else typically does my pedicure, but I always have Selena do my hands. The shop offers pretty much all services including waxing, eyelash extensions, manicures, pedicures, etc. You can also pay via CashApp, Zelle, cash, or credit card (for an additional credit card fee). I've been a recurring customer at this salon for almost 3 years however the last 3 times I've been here the owners (husband and wife who sit in the first two seats closest to the door) have been extremely rude and inconsiderate. I've never come across this problem before here and I've heard of several altercations with previous customers before it hasn't happened to me until now. Lynn and John don't be so quick to judge and listen to your customers first. You should respect your customers wether they be a first time or recurring. I went to this nail salon yesterday, they're one of the few salons located by The University of Chicago that's open on Monday. The service was ok. No one was rude nor were they overly nice but I'm not a big talker so it didn't bother me much. They offered an array of colors. Beautiful colors to chose from. I got a mani/pedi and I'm happy with it. The reason I'm giving it 3 stars is because of the cleanliness of the salon. It could definitely use a good sweep, wipe down. I went around 11:00am so it wasn't after the day had passed. The chair I sat in, I had to wipe out and the dirt on the bottom of my sandal was really gross. Which made me nervous, because it makes you wonder how well they clean the instruments their using on your hands and feet. I probably won't go back but worked for the moment. read more

I love this nail shop and it was my first time going there. It is very clean and you don't smell fumes at all. The shop is airy and bright. They use OPI products which are my favorite. Lyn did my nails and we discussed politics and Donald Trump. Lol. My nails are immaculate and not thick at the ends. Lyn gave me a card to fill up 10 times and then I would get a 10.00 discount. This is my second time coming in this place, each has been out of convenience since it's near my home. Each time the guy at the first chair on the left has been extremely distasteful with his choice of words. The first time I had to convince him that these were MY NAILS and I didn't need a fill in because it's not an overlay; like he thought it was impossible for someone's nails to grow as beautiful as mine?? this last time was the final straw another customer was requesting clarification because no one in the salon addressed the fact that she had been waiting for an hour to get a soak off. She did so in a calm and simply inquisitive manner, but in return received a rude and elevated tone of voice from this man "i told you, you have to wait!" in which she asked, lwhy are you being snappy with me I was just wondering when someone will update me," this boy yelled once again "i told you, you need to wait" where I chimed in that he was in fact being rude, his excuse was "I'm sick" now we all know if you're sick you wouldn't be yelling....just another excuse for poor customer service and bad business. To top it off all the other staff members chimed in saying "yeah he's sick" if you're that sick stay at home, period. Then he told the late "if you have a problem with it there's the door, you can leave, get out, goodbye" all while this poor woman was seated, talking in a regular tone of voice. I got up and left during the middle of my manicure because I won't support a business who treats its customers as such. Do not go here! I have faithfully patronized this place for years because it is around the corner from my house. I have seen the husband (John) be so incredibly rude to ppl so I NEVER EVER UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE go to him. His wife Lynn Is generally nice but has her moments too. I have referred countless ppl to them over the years. They have had bad experiences and never come back. I keep coming bc of Lynn. 3 weeks ago, I referred a friend but I forgot to tell her not to go to John. When I met her up there, she was upset about her nails bc they weren't shaped right and John was being rude. She whispered it to me and I quietly told him. He got so mad and told her she didn't have to pay, she could just leave. She wanted to pay bc he had provided her a service. She wasn't trying run out on her bill, she just wanted fixed to her liking. She never raised her voice, got mad or anything else. (We are both teachers and understand how to act in a public place). He eventually finished her nails but they looked terrible. She still paid and even tipped him. I came back another day for a fill in and John and Lynn both refused to speak to me so I walked out the door. I have never seen such poor customer service in my whole life. I have patronized them for year, tipped and dealt with their tardiness, rudeness and overall laxed behavior. If I could have not picked any stars I would have. I went to this shop because my sister lives in the neighborhood. I have been to this shop at least 3 times prior to my last two bad experiences. The Manager of the shop (not sure of her name) did my nails a couple of weeks ago. She was taking off my old tips to put new ones on and while she was doing this, another employee can't showing her things on her phone. She would look at the phone and still be using that little knife to take off the old tip. In other words, she was not paying attention to what she was doing and this made me very nervous. Then a woman came in asking questions and once again she is looking at the woman and talking to her while using this little knife to take off my old tips. I then said to her that she was making me nervous. Her response was "have I hurt you?" My response was "no and you better not." I really did like this place but the Manager has a stank ass attitude and feels she can treat people any kind of way. So I went in there on Friday, May 19 thinking I will give this place another chance. Of course, there she is with her stank ass attitude. I signed in and waited. I was there for around 30 minutes when I decided that I would just come back the next day. She was doing someone's nails and I asked her what time do they open. She ignored me. So I asked again and finally she said ten. LOL I just kept thinking how she never looked up at me to answer me but when she was doing my nails her eyes were EVERY WHERE ELSE BUT ON MY DAMN HANDS. I visited this establishment on a Friday morning. I did call ahead of time to make an appointment, however I was informed that they didn't take appointments, it is first come, first served. The hours posted indicate that they open at 10:00am, however, prior reviews advised early arrival. I got there around 9:45am (and there was already someone else there!) and ended up waiting until about 10:15am for the staff to arrive. Outside of the lack of appointment and the late start, my experience was pretty good. I got SNS nails (apparently y'all call it "the dip manicure" up here in Chicago). Please note, while most places include the cuticle trimming service with the SNS nails, you do have to pay extra for it here. My nail tech was Sang. I'm glad I got him. He took his time and was very thorough. I was pleased with how my nails came out. I plan to request him on subsequent visits. I would visit this place again, but I am very clear that I would have to be one of the first people in the door, otherwise, there would be a significant wait. Also, with regards to parking, the lot is VERY small with extremely limited parking spaces. Plan to park on the street either in the front or on a side street, and count yourself lucky if you find an empty spot in the lot. read more

I love this nails shop I've been going here for like 2 years now. All of the staff is awesome they gave me like 5 nicknames ... they give you a reward card and once you get 10 signatures on the back of you card you get $10 off your service and it's not just for first time customers either you keep getting them ...once you've got your 10 signatures they throw away the old card and give you a new one ( you will not get a signature if you are getting eyebrows or eyelash service )not a bad deal at all... now how many nail shops do you know of that offers a reward card and still provides quality service ... yes when you come you might have to wait but no matter what nail shop you go to your going to have to wait and if you see that people are waiting to get serviced that's a good thing that just means that they do a great job and won't rush to get finished and trust me it's worth the wait I haven't had an issue yet and I've been coming to this nail shop for a while read more

I really liked my experience here. I got an SNS dip manicure on Monday and it's still looking great (highly recommend these over no chip if you have thin nails). The tech was wonderful and fixed up one of my broken/cracked nails without having to put a tip on it and it's still holding up beautifully. It's not exactly the fanciest nail place, it is a little cluttered, they don't offer water, soft drinks, etc. but places that do SNS manicures are few and far between. I'm going to go in for a pedi tomorrow and see how it goes. I normally go to Cuticle in Uptown, a very impeccably clean, chic salon, but just moved to the south side and love dip manicures a lot more than no chip. read more

I've been going to D'Fashion Nails for almost a year now. Their shop is very clean (a prob. I've had w/previous shops) & the staff is friendly. I really appreciate the incentives they give you for being a customer. You can get discounts off your services after 10 visits, and they even give discounts to students who bring in their report cards with A's & B's.
