Saw a post in a local FB group saying this was the best pie in town. Whenever I hear that I get pretty skeptical but it looked pretty solid so why not. Came in the store and Brett greeted me once I walked in. Ordering was super quick and easy. Took just a few minutes to get my slice once I ordered it. Got my slice and was genuinely shocked at how big it was. The dough was the best part. They've perfected the crust. I've tried to find a good combination between crunch & doughiness. And they do an amazing job. Everywhere else I go it's either all dough no structure or all crunch to the point it scratches your mouth up. DTC is the best I've ever had. The sauce was absolutely fantastic as well. I will say, the honey sting isn't really my jam. If I'd have gotten a cheese or margherita I absolutely would have enjoyed it in its entirety. However I won't let my preference of taste take away from the fundamentals. The knots were amazing, hard but soft exterior and soft interior. Dipping it in the red sauce and it's pure perfection. I absolutely have the intent of coming back when I'm in Denver again and recommend coming here to anybody looking for a fantastic slice, it absolutely earns the framing as the best slice in town. read more

We just moved to town and wanted to get pizza for our first night here after a long week of traveling. We were really looking forward to relaxing and enjoying our first meal in our new home, and after seeing the great reviews, we were excited to give this place a try. Unfortunately, it was not quite the welcome to town we were hoping for. The pizza was ready quickly, which was great, but unfortunately the first pizza was really disappointing. It tasted like it had been sitting out for a while--it was extremely dry and hard and just didn't taste fresh. It was technically a thin crust, but it felt like there was way more crust than toppings, which made the dryness even more noticeable. The garlic knots were also disappointing. They tasted more like biscuit dough than garlic knots, with virtually no garlic flavor. I'm gluten-free and get gluten-free pizza pretty regularly, so I was especially disappointed with the crust. I've honestly never had a gluten-free crust like this before. The first one was extremely doughy and seemed undercooked in the middle. I kept eating it without realizing just how undercooked it was, and eventually realized I was essentially eating raw dough. I did call because I had paid $17 for the pizza and figured I might as well give them a chance to remake it rather than just assume it was a bad experience. To their credit, they did remake the pizza for me. The second pizza actually tasted good, and I appreciated that they were willing to make another one. Once it was cooked more, the crust was better and tasted good, but it was still noticeably doughy. At that point, I honestly think the issue may be the gluten-free crust itself rather than just an isolated cooking mistake. When I went back in, I was told that they don't actually make the dough and buy it from somewhere else. I understand that, but it doesn't really explain why the crust was still undercooked, and some of the back-and-forth about it felt a little strange. They did go back and show the chef, and they were extremely busy, so I also understand that it was a hectic situation. Overall, I'm glad I called because the second pizza was somewhat better, and I don't want to be unfair about that. But for someone who is gluten-free and regularly orders gluten-free pizza, I would really hope they consider changing or reevaluating the gluten-free crust. Even after it was cooked longer, the texture was still much doughier than any gluten-free crust I've had before. We were really hoping this would become one of our go-to spots since we're new to town. Unfortunately, after our first experience, I'm not sure we'll be back. It was just disappointing, especially after a long and exhausting week of traveling when we were really looking forward to our first meal in our new home. read more

We recently tried this pizza place because of its great reviews, and we're so glad we did! It's conveniently located in a shopping center in the DTC area, making it easy to find with plenty of nearby parking. As soon as we walked in, we noticed the welcoming atmosphere. There are tables on both sides of the restaurant, and you can watch the staff handcraft each pizza fresh as it's ordered. We also noticed a steady stream of customers coming in to pick up takeout orders, which was a great sign that this place is a local favorite. Since it was our first visit, we weren't sure what to order. The young woman at the front was incredibly friendly and recommended the Detroit-style pizza, so we decided on the DTC Deluxe with mushrooms, pepperoni, olives, red onions, mozzarella, and bell peppers. When our pizza arrived, it was the perfect size for the two of us to share. The crust had perfectly crispy, cheesy edges, the sauce-to-cheese ratio was just right, and every bite was packed with flavor. It was one of those pizzas that leaves you wanting "just one more slice." What truly made our experience special was the outstanding customer service. When the owner found out it was our first time dining there, she surprised us with complimentary cinnamon roll knots for dessert. They were served warm, soft, and absolutely melted in our mouths. It was such a thoughtful gesture that made us feel genuinely welcomed. From the exceptional service to the delicious food and friendly staff, everything about our visit exceeded our expectations. I had my eye on this spot since before they even opened and FINALLY got to check it out on my lunch break. I just got the combo slice with 2 knobs and thought it was a solid deal for ~$8.50 bucks. I definitely had high expectations and it luckily lived up to what I hoped it would be honestly. I haven't been to a lot of pizza spots in town yet but for me it was top 3 probably so far. If I enjoyed the slice this much I bet a whole fresh pie is even better so will have to get one sometime. Great crust, chewy yet airy and light as well. No flop yet a decent amount of toppings and didn't feel it was lacking. I really wanted more or to get a whole pie but the slice was a good size for lunch too. Was just full enough but not miserable as half the work day remained ahead unfortunately. The knots were good but prefer more garlic flavor or butter on them. Still solid dough and nice marinara for dipping. I would not order knots separately if they didn't come with the lunch special though personally. Inside wasn't too big with half or so bigger tables and a few smaller ones as well. More of a take out spot IMO so I'd probably never eat in the restaurant. Everyone was friendly and the lunch special was quick so I could get back to work when you had limited time. Maybe slightly pricey, but honestly for the quality and what you're getting I will gladly pay it over a chain or sub par pizza anytime. I was pleasantly surprised by how good this pizza was. I got the Detroit Style 8in. x 10in. Honey Sting ($20). The crust was thick and fluffy but crunchy on the edges. The marinara sauce was deliciously tart and cut through the richness of the mozzarella cheese, ricotta cheese and pepperoni. Honey and fresh basil were nice touches to add some extra depth. The hot honey was not spicy at all, so I added some of their chili flakes (which were quite spicy). My only complaint is that the pepperoni was a bit too burnt for my liking. This guy has credentials that go all the way back to Italy and it shows in every single slice. You can taste the authenticity - the crust has that perfect char and chew, the sauce hits the right balance of sweet and acidic, and the toppings are quality stuff. This isn't some suburban strip mall approximation of Italian pizza. This is the real thing. I've been burned by Denver pizza so many times - places claiming to be coal fired that aren't (cough cough Marco Crap fired), doughy disasters that taste like cafeteria food, overpriced mediocrity that locals somehow rave about. DTC Slice breaks that cycle completely. After eating pizza from Connecticut to Chicago to actual Italy, I can say with confidence that DTC Slice belongs in that conversation. I heard great reviews about this place, and decided to give it a try. Walking in, there were a lot of customers which gave me high hopes. The cashier, who is truly the face of the establishment, set the bar pretty low for me. We asked if there was a way to order a honey sting slice without pepperoni, since we don't eat pork. My goodness, if looks could kill. The cashier told us she didn't know if it could be done. After immediately being made to feel dumb for the request, we then asked if we could get a cheese slice and make it with all of the honey sting ingredients minus pepperoni. After putting in our order, the cashier asked if we would like anything to drink. I had never been into this establishment, so I wasn't sure what the options were and asked if they had fountain drinks. Once again, I was given a dirty look, and the cashier didn't respond verbally by telling me they didn't have fountain drinks, instead she looked at me like I was crazy and pointed down toward their bottled drinks as if I was supposed to know. Just plain rude and unprofessional. This is supposed to be the person who greets customers and the face of the establishment... instead we were greeted with somebody who clearly doesn't like their customers. We waited about 10 minutes for our slices to come out, and the bottom of the slices were overcooked and slightly burned. I wanted to try to fold the slice to eat a little more easily, but couldn't because it was kind of hard at the bottom. I went to the counter to grab a fork and knife to cut it and their utensil container had four plastic forks and one dirty, metal knife. The cashier who gave me such a "warm welcome" as I arrived, just stared at me as she saw me grab and look at the one dirty knife. At that point, she wasn't doing anything but standing there, you would think she would refill the utensils. The overall experience and first impression wasn't great. I really did have high expectations, but the cashier and below average/average at best food have truly made this a one and done for me. read more

The owner is very nice, as is his staff. The pizza is probably very good when executed properly. Much to my chagrin, the owner has chosen to charge an unannounced 3% fee for using a credit card. I would have gladly paid cash to avoid a fee for paying with a credit card but wasn't given a chance. Even if this was the best pizza in the state, I would not go back because of the hidden fee. Will one transaction break me? Of course not. But all of these businesses now doing this over an extended period of time adds up to a lot of money I am paying credit card companies for money that I have in the bank. I'd rather do other things in life with that money I fought so hard to earn. My piece of constructive advice is to provide a price for cash versus non-cash so patrons get a chance to decide. Toast obfuscates the fee from a customer perspective when looking at the terminal and I didn't see any signs in the shop that explained that a fee was being charged. That is deceptive by design, regardless of intent. All of these money grubbing people know better. I wish the pizza was not burnt. read more

Made a last minute order before they closed after looking for a new (to me) pizza place to try. They were happy to take the order and were very polite. The pizza itself (basic pepp) was delicious and like many of the other reviews say, it was far, far better than average, and will be our new go to. I'm not going to disparage other pizza places, but I will say this is probably at the top of the mountain for the area. The secret is in the crust which tasted very high quality and light, and the pizza as a whole didn't leave us feeling like we just ate a grease bomb. So excited to have a new pizza place that lives up to every expectation of my east coast favs! While they closer earlier than we'd like (7pm) it sounds like they'll expand their hours as they grow. We received a cash refund for our white pizza that didn't turn out to the owners expectation of crispiness (it was close to closing and they were swamped) - unexpected and excellent customer service. Moving from the city to the burbs, I have found it a little more challenging to find high quality foods, and restaurants that are not part of a chain. This hidden gem is so good! I saw a couple walking out with two boxes, and the husband was eating a slice on the way to the car. I said, "wow that good, couldn't wait till you got home?" We laughed and assured me it was "the best pizza around." I had it tonight and I couldn't agree more. A spot with both NY and Detroit style pizza. Went with the classic margarita on Detroit and it was fantastic. Fresh, hot warm and light. House made ranch was great. The manager was amazing, I feel like you know it's a good spot when he is interacting with the chefs and pulling pizza from the oven himself! The lady working the front was as sweet as could be. You're not there for the decor, seating, or artwork, but the food is so good you could eat the pizza in a dark alley and forget where you are. Restuarant is small and has about 6 tables. Front lady was so nice and welcoming. Our food was absolutely delicious. The spiciness from the pepperoni, the creaminess from the ricotta, the sweetness from the hot honey, and the crispy crust was to die for. I went to DTC Slice to pick up 3 large pizzas for my son. I arrived at the promised ready to pick up time but they were not ready. However, I should mention - it was a Friday night and they were very busy. In fact as I was waiting (about 15 minutes) the tables were full with people waiting as well as a line of about 5 people. So, they do a good business. Of the 3 pizzas my son ordered I liked the one with spinach, ricotta and pepperoni. It was delicious.
