I had a crown placed here about a year ago that immediately had noticeable gray discoloration. When I went back, I was told to get it bleached -- but they didn't offer bleaching at the time and referred me out. Two other dentists advised against drilling into a new crown and said it should be replaced by the original dentist at no cost since I had just got it done. After months of back-and-forth, this office finally offered bleaching in-house. I was told that if bleaching didn't fix it, they would replace the crown at no cost. I paid $120 for bleaching, and while it slightly improved the color, the discoloration is still visible. When it came time to replace it, they changed their position and said they would have to charge DOUBLE what I originally paid because insurance wouldn't cover a crown on the same tooth and I was slightly outside a year -- even though the delay was caused by their runaround. So despite their original promise to replace it if the bleaching didn't correct the color they were now charging me more than the original crown. The front desk is overall nice, but - it's just a very unprofessional dental office and It's also in a horrible part of DTLA. DO NOT RECOMMEND - go somewhere else. read more

I used to come to Dr. Park for my regular cleanings and he also treated my cracked tooth and some other issues I had a couple years back. He always did an absolutely fabulous job and is a good dentist. I'm also a huge scaredy cat and Dr. Park and staff were always super patient, friendly, and understanding with me! He's also treated many of my family members including my sister, mom, and dad. My dad actually went back here recently which is why I noticed that my original review disappeared for some reason... Unfortunately I had to go to a different dentist when Dr. Park was on vacation or there was some scheduling issue I don't quite remember the exact reason, but I unfortunately haven't been able to make my way back here since because the new dentist I go to schedules future appointments each visit and I've just been too busy/lazy to break the cycle and move back to DTLA Smile, but I'm sure I'll eventually find my way back here. Red flag alert! I personally will never return to this establishment. I enjoyed the front desk customer service but I have some serious concerns about this dental practice. I was told I needed a deep cleaning in my gums and I've never had to do that at past dentists. I get regular cleanings and have zero concerns about my teeth. I don't know if Dr. Park is deceitful in order to receive more insurance money or, perhaps, he's not as well-trained as I believed. Not only was the deep cleaning extremely painful, the hygienist was clearly inexperienced. I was also there much longer than expected and had to cancel my other important plans. At my second appointment for an actual cleaning, a different hygienist was once again inexperienced. I had excess saliva everywhere and his hand wasn't steady when it came to cleaning. I also don't think the cleaning was thorough. I was also told the price I had to pay was less because I overpaid at my first visit. I DO NOT like this behavior. If you overcharge a patient, ask how they'd like to receive the money they overpaid. This behavior is very concerning and I suggest whoever does billing gets more training. The office is beautiful inside and I loved picking out music but those two options do not make up for the lack of experience. I would be overly cautious as a new patient. Especially if this place tells you all the extra things you need. I went to an old fashioned family practice and the dentist told me I actually didn't need a deep clean and my gums are fine. Will not be back. Starting off, the office is in actual DTLA so not the greatest area, though I will give them credit for validated parking. You need a code to enter through an inconspicuous side door up a flight of stairs. The waiting room feels like they were trying to be boujee on a budget like stylistically may have looked nice at first but so many white faux plush elements that it now looks a little dirty. I originally made an appointment on the website, but they called me to tell me the website was wrong and reschedule. I had to give my insurance information three separate times, so the check in could definitely be more streamlined and the front desk lady called me ma'am so many times I did get a little nervous lol. As far as the dental treatment itself, I didn't see Dr. Park because I was in on a Saturday, but the dentist I did see was an older gentleman. He was nice but again with the unprofessionalism, was wearing a mask under his nose the entire time. Also at one point the water tank on my chair ran out of water and I feel like that wasn't the smoothest replacement process either and they left the suction in my mouth which got so uncomfortable I pulled it out myself. Throughout the procedure, cords and things were constantly being passed over me and the dental chairs creaked pretty badly when they move. I first had my bad experience here several months ago. My wife and I scheduled our appointment here and MY GOD! THE WAIT TIME was horrible! I read a couple of other reviews just now that this tends to happen though maybe not frequently, either way it's very unprofessional. The dentist came to talk to me to "advise" on what I plan I should go with, which he wasn't pushy, but then that's the last I saw of him. I waited 30 minutes to get some cleaning done and no one would come! I got so damn frustrated just walked out. Once I was back in the waiting room, i still waited another 30 minutes for them to finish cleaning my wife's teeth, which then would have been my turn! Now fast forward a couple of months, and the experience got worse! We can only go on weekends since we both work, but for some reason, they said they weren't opening every Saturday, to one Saturday a month. Well, that still didn't work for them and our appointments got changed twice after our first scheduled appointment! Oh, and there was another review from a couple of months ago complaining about the uneven stairs, if you decide to take a chance to go here, grab the rails because you will trip! My wife hurt her shin because she tripped. I told her to complain, but she didn't want to make a big deal about it! But that's neither here nor there again since they just don't care for our business so we definitely won't be going back! I should have gone with my gut and left after my wife hurt herself! Avoid at all costs. While staff is friendly they never are on time with appointments and then they never answer phone. They same they were in meetings or their hours changed but never update the website accurately. They have been pushing my appointment back every single time. They say something went wrong with my implant that was delivered or didn't arrive or the machine isn't working or that I need scans first. So many excuses. I try to be nice and understanding but this place is really bad when it comes to actually getting stuff done. I've gone to countless appointments, waiting a long time to be seen, and then for them to just tell me sorry something happened we need to reschedule. It's super frustrating. I'm so ashamed to admit that I've skipped seeing the dentist yearly cos of traumatizing dental experiences from when i was young and some in my adult years. I've been putting off dental work, and had to go for an emergency tooth pulling on a broken tooth. They were able to see me right away. Look, i am terrified. I usually cry like a baby who's lost their mother when i visit. Never fails. So irrational. I also usually need to be prescribed anxiety medication in order for me to get worked on usually. But based off of all the positive yelp reviews i was convinced Dr. Park was my person. I came in, he and his staff put me at ease. His sense of humor and jokes put you at ease, and he has a TV right at the chair so you can catch up on shows while he's doing his thing. I literally watched Emily in Paris, as he pulled my tooth out. Lol His numbing skills are chef's kiss--very light hand, very demure lol. After an easy experience i was actually excited to come back and schedule more dental work I've been putting off. His rates are reasonable if you don't have insurance. 10/10 recommend, he's the dentist for you if you've been avoiding seeing one for years!!!! Unfortunately i didn't get to see the dentist here because there were multiple scheduling issues. The first time I scheduled an appointment through their online system and then they contacted me afterwards to tell me the appt wasn't available. (I understand it was holiday season, but if it wasn't available the system shouldn't have allowed me to schedule the appointment) So I asked for a few more times, but the dentist was often not available. Then when i finally scheduled another appointment, they contacted me later to tell me I had to come in a couple hours earlier than the scheduled time which they had not informed me of at the time of scheduling. But i had already told my work the specific time I had originally scheduled and I didn't want to trouble them by changing it. So with all the scheduling issues/changes, I just ended up canceling my appointment. read more

They sneak charges in and use the good ol' "bait and switch" and "rush rush rush" method for you to pay out of pocket for add ons you don't need and never agreed to. Came here and got a filler redone which should have been completely covered by my dental insurance but of course, I left paying $150 for services I did not need. Also, the filler set in a way that kept getting food stuck in my teeth which started becoming a real issue. Had to go to another dentist (flew all the way to NYC) to visit my true dentist and he let me know that there was a lot of previous filler remaining that this dentist failed to remove and my tooth was rotting even worse because of the food that was getting stuck between fillers. So let me just say that I am terrified of the dentist. Like absolute anxiety attack. Staphany is amazing she talked me through the entire process and assured me everything was going to be fine. Dr.Park is fantastic. I had a tooth extraction and it was a breeze. I left with no pain at all and didn't even feel the tooth being pulled. Sooo...I've been here about 4 times in the last three months. First appointment, they took me in last minute because my tooth was killing me, keeping me up at night. Ended up getting that tooth pulled, and when I tell you easy breezy!! Felt no pain during, which was amazing #NumbingSkillsOn100. Since that went so well, I'm came back for a cleaning, cavity work (don't judge me lol) and had to get a crown...I'm telling you all my business just to drive the point that they are soooo great here! I have to preface this review with I have an extremely sensitive mouth. When I get a cleaning I feel it for almost a week. Add that to some significant dental trauma due to a terrible couple of dentists and you have me who will only go in a dental emergency. When I got a crack in a tooth I didn't have much of a choice. This review is just for Mike Sedler - he is not listed on the website but he is the dentist that performed my wisdom tooth extraction. I also booked my appointment here under the assumption that Dr. Park would be seeing me. To begin, I'm not entirely confident he had the capability to perform my extraction as this should have a simple procedure (as confirmed by another oral surgeon). The dentist was extremely rough pushing on my eyes and yanking my cheek. Dr. Sedler also severed an artery during the extraction. After a couple hours, the bleeding was so profuse that he decided not to complete the procedure, suturing me with half of my wisdom tooth still intact. At this point, the office tried to send me to another oral surgeon to complete the extraction, assuring me that they had called the office and let them know that I was coming. When I called the office, their surgeons had gone home for the day and had received no calls from DTLA Smile. I had to go back to the office to request that they call another doctor and confirm an appointment while I was bleeding out. Once I got to the secondary surgeon, I had to undergo emergency surgery due to the severed artery and blood loss. The surgeon confirmed that the initial extraction by Dr. Sedler caused a severed artery and hematoma in my cheek as well as nerve damage (I cannot feel my lip, chin, or gums). Dr. Sedler called me after the fact mentioning that he spoke to the oral surgeon and blaming the bleeding on a prior health condition and that I should seek care from my PCP. The oral surgeon denied this, and confirmed that the bleeding was due to Dr. Sedler cutting an artery. I had always dreaded going to the dentist since I've been a child. I've almost never had a positive experience going to my family's dentist even as an adult. DTLA Smile was the first dentistry I've been too other than my family's preferred dentistry and the difference is night and day in the best way possible. I was greeted by on-site staff/ nurse, Kelly, and she was the absolute sweetest and knowledgeable. Dr. Park and B (Brently) took care of me when I got my teeth cleaned and it was such a positive experience and help lift the negative bias I had with going to the dentist. They were gentle, informative, and overall had the best hospitality. I was recommended to check out DTLA Smile from a colleague who had done their Invisalign program with them. I had little to no expectation of this place but was hopeful that it would be a positive experience as I've been contemplating about getting Invisalign for awhile. I normally wouldn't have gone to a dentist that's relatively newly established, but Dr. Park was super speedy in his email response to me and it was so easy to make a last-minute appointment that I decided to take the chance. Super glad I did, though, because everything about my experience was fantastic! Dr. Park has a great bedside manner and really made me feel at ease - he was communicative, thorough, and kind. I also loved the assistant, Stephanie, who was super bubbly and made sure to keep asking if I needed anything during my appointments. At the end of my deep cleaning, they gave me a hot towel facial massage and a lip scrub/mask which I've never gotten at a dentist's office before but it was a nice touch! The office is still undergoing construction, but I'm sure it'll look great once it's finished. It's in a seedy part of DTLA but you can tell they're doing the best with what they have. The lobby straight up looks like it came out of a CB2 catalogue LOL. The office offers parking reimbursement of up to $10 which is super generous and convenient. Can't say that I hope to be going back soon given that it's the dentist, but at the very least, it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world if I needed to. :-) read more

I've lived in DTLA for 15 years, and this is by far the best dentist in Los Angeles. For starters, the ambiance of the office creates a world of its own by going from the bustling streets of downtown, to a "two story heaven" abode. Dr. Park maintains excellent chemistry with his staff and patients at the same time, without any phoniness to maximize their profits. They even let you watch Netflix or play your music from the chair, as I personally played my own music on Spotify. Finally, Dr. Park performs his warm towel massage on your jaw to capstone a one-of-a-kind dentistry experience. 10/10 read more

Ever since I've moved out to LA I've been looking for a go-to dentist that's trustworthy. Dr. Park at DTLA Smile is just that and more! I went in for a teeth cleaning and since it was my first visit, he took x-rays and photos of my teeth then reviewed them one-by-one, explaining everything he was seeing. I ended up needing some filling work for the first time ever and he did a great job explaining the reasoning and what exactly needed to be done. Everything went smooth and painless. Him and his staff are extremely friendly and do a great job of making sure you feel as comfortable as possible the moment you walk through the door. Even the little details like offering to let you control Netflix or Spotify on their swivel monitor, it all adds up to an exceptional experience.
