This review is long overdue. I've been a patient here since 2019, and even though the practice has changed owners, it is still the best dental office I've ever been to. The office itself is modern, spotless, and state-of-the-art, and the entire team runs it with incredible professionalism and warmth. Let's start with Paulina at the front desk. She is kind, welcoming, and always a pleasure to speak with--whether on the phone or when you walk through the door. She makes scheduling and check-ins seamless. Christine and Pearla, the dental assistants, are wonderful. They're friendly, funny, and always make sure you're comfortable. You can tell they genuinely care about the patient experience. And then there's Dr. Huang, who is truly a dream dentist. Her bedside manner is exceptional, and it's obvious she was born to do this. She is meticulous, thorough, and deeply committed to doing things the right way. I recently had a crown delivered, and she wasn't satisfied with how it fit. Instead of cementing it and calling it "good enough," she sent it back and asked the lab to make a better one. That level of honesty and attention to detail is rare--and it's exactly why I trust her 100% with my teeth. She never overprescribes services or pushes unnecessary treatments, which says a lot about her integrity. And a shoutout to Peter, the office manager, who is an absolute gem and keeps everything running smoothly. This was the best dental experience I've ever had. The entire team was amazing from the moment I walked in. I've never had such a gentle x-ray procedure (thank you Christine)! And the equipment at Pearlique is so high tech! I was amazed at the 3D imaging they took of my teeth! And Dr. Amy explained everything that I needed to do to not only improve my teeth but also take care of anything that was currently causing issues. Very clean office. Fast and efficient. I had a minor cavity that was bothering me and I was able to come in the same week to get it taken care of. The location is in DTLA and they do not validate for parking however if you live close by they do offer ride service vouchers which is nice touch. Definitely recommend. read more

So, fair warning, Pearlique is not cheap. That said, this is a very good dentistry practice. I came here with a most horrible toothache based on my husband's recommendation, since he had his routine exam and cleaning here. I showed up for an urgent appointment and they took great care of me. Within minutes they had scans and x-rays showing I needed both a root canal AND an extraction. They laid out a treatment plan and gave me options based on my financial situation. Over the course of four appointments I had all of my necessary treatments and procedures, and am in much better shape. I mentioned in my intake that I had been abused by a dentist when I was young, and Dr. Huang and her staff could not have been more considerate and thoughtful, always taking the extra time to make sure I felt safe and that I wasn't in pain, and unlike a lot of dentists, she didn't scold me or criticize me for the condition of my teeth. First time here and the place is clean and and very professional. I hate hate hate going to the dentist because of the pain and the sales tactics they tried pulling on me at the other locations. My co worker referred me to pearlique since he used to work by the la court house. I live in Downey and I would drive to this location yea it's in downtown town but there parking on the street or pay 10 bucks at one of the near spots. The front office was upfront with me and so was I . I said I have two insurance and I want to do what even the insurance will cover and then we will talk about out of pocket services! They said ok so that was a pleasant surprise that they were up front with me. The dentist was nice and informative and they work quick. Also no waiting after your appointment time. Extremely impressed with this office. The dentist Jennifer Nguyen did the entire cleaning herself, and it was the most detailed and thorough cleaning I had in years. In addition, the chairs were very comfortable with massage. It was also very easy to make an appointment with online system, and I filled out the forms online, so I did not have to fill out any forms in person. This was a super efficient experience, and sometimes that other offices after you fill out a form online, they still make you fill it out in person. The dentist also spoke to me about specific areas on my teeth that were suspicious for cavities, and she found one cavity that she filled the same day. They asked for around $80 for the filling but I reviewed the explanation of benefits from my PPO insurance several days later, which showed that my portion should only have been $14. When I brought this to their attention over email, they promptly issued a refund over an email. They are very responsive over email, which isn't the case for a lot of offices. I would give them 0 star if Yelp allows me. The treatment was good, however the billing department has been terribly unprofessional. My 3 visits for treatments were done in the last two months of 2021. Since then, I have emailed and called the office more 30 times to ask if could please update my claims to the insurance because they were either filed with mismatched information or denied by my insurance because they failed to renewal their license with my insurance as a "in network" provider which resulted as a "out of network" provider with the least benefits. No one seemed to care about answering my calls or email with some follow ups or at least a plan to do moving forward. I have to go to the office myself once to demand for an answer by the office manager, no further updates whatsoever. Called insurance a number of times, but we're told only the dental office would manage the communication with the insurance regarding the claim. It's been more than a year now since this process has been happening and the last time they updated my info with my insurance was half a year ago. read more

I cannot express the importance of a dentist that actually cares about you as a person and not just another client. Dr. Jen Nguyen is probably the best dentist I've encountered in LA. I originally went to Abri Dental because it was in network and in Beverly Hills but they treated me like I was a homeless person begging for food. Complete opposite experience here at Pearlique! The staff is friendly and attentive to your needs and questions. Its a smaller practice so everything is very personable and intimate. They're out of network for me but I didnt even care, Id rather pay out of network for a phenomenal experience than stay in network for a company that doesnt genuinely care about my health. Best dentist ever!! I went here the first time today (my first big girl dentist) and boy has the bar been set high. First, I walk into a beautiful but not too over the top office and chat with a lovely other patient while I wait. Then I am led into the waiting room with a massage chair, Netflix (they put on the Beyonce documentary, good choice) and a beautiful view of downtown. Everyone is so polite and accommodating! The dental hygienist even laughed at all my jokes whether she meant it or not. I feel like if I come back everyone will remember me and we will all be friends. Dr. Jennifer was amazing! I feel like cares more than any other dentist I've had, and it left me feeling "why didn't the old dentist point that out??" They were also very upfront about pricing and my insurance, and were honest about anything and everything. WOW. SO- I avoid the dentist most of the time and leave any appointment feeling shameful and guilty for not taking better care of my teeth. So it has been 2 + years since my last cleaning. I got to see Dr. Amy Huang and she was great. Started by asking me if there was anything I wanted to share about pain or past experience. She clearly told me what was happening- and what she was doing and even encouraged me when I admitted to not having been in for over 2 years that since I was there today- she knows I care. Before even the cleaning they had another person come over and go over the prices with insurance so I wasn't surprised and didn't feel pressured. I scheduled to get some fillings redone and they also told me the price for that for the next time.
