    You got me!

I am a sucker for anything that deems itself "the world's greatest....", the "city's best..." whatever it is- you fill in the blank. When I see this it is a personal challenge that I give myself. In this case, D town Pizza you caught my eye with your 3x world champion sign! So I had to try at least two flavors- the haoli & the dbm. I always secretly not want to like what I'm trying, especially when the location is far from home. Welp, I must report that this pizza is probably the best of the best I have ever eaten in my entire life! I thought I was a deep dish Chicago style girl but Detroit, you outdid yourself. The crust is airy, flaky, crunchy and the toppings are fresh and flavorful. My heart is yours forever! I'm so glad you have parking in the rear ( especially important since you're located in WeHo) ;-x

Grabbed a quick dinner here last night. I've never had Detroit style pizza so I didn't know what to expect. We got the Haole which came in 4 big slices. It's a small spot, but with lots of personality. You can't eat here with a large group, but it's worth picking your food up from them so you can eat it fresh. The Haole was delicious. The pizza is thick, but airy so it never felt heavy. The bacon jam, pineapple, and jalapeños seamlessly came together to make each bite super flavorful. Worth eating if you're in the area!

I've wanted to try DTown for a while now, and I'm so glad I finally did! I am a big fan of Detroit-style pizza, and DTown is another awesome option in a city full of really good pizza. We tried the "313" (vodka sauce, pesto parm) and "The Wise Guy" (meatball parm), which were both really good! I like that you can order half pies, too, so you can try different a few different options. The crispy cheese along the crust was amazing. Staff was nice, service was fairly quick, and the location is great. I'd definitely go back and try more of the menu. They're also on my favorite food app, inKind!

Presentation and customer services are 5 stars ! The pizza albeit won several competitions was still missing something for me. Not to mention this is the 2nd best one for me in West Hollywood, Beverly Hills, and LA areas. I'm from NY so it's hard for me to be pleased when it comes to pizza, same can be said LA has the best tacos I've had. The place was empty when I went, it was super tidy and inviting. There are several indoor seats. No outdoor seating. The slice is very filling. I could not manage to eat 1 slice in one sitting. Overall great price point.

    "Haole" aka not Hawaiian

I waited way too long to visit D-Town but man was it worth the wait. Chef/owner Ryan is the real deal. He knows how to make a killer pizza and his passion truly shows behind each pie. I ordered two half squares today, the 313 and Haole aka not Hawai'ian. Both of these were so damn good. The crust/dough is insane, it's so fluffy and bouncy with a super crispy crust and a fantastic bite. There's so much flavor in the dough alone I could eat it by itself. The 313 is rather simple but executed to perfection. Cheesy, savory, herby, light, and just delicious. The pesto and vodka sauce are as good or even better than the top pasta places. Combined on top of the pizza though here? Wow. Just, WOW. The Haole is such a unique and amazing take on the classic Hawai'ian, what sets it apart are the charred pineapple and bacon jam, plus the pickled jalapenos. Spicy, sweet, savory, fresh, just the best "Hawai'ian" pizza you could ever eat. Absolutely will return and try some more pizzas!

The pizza here is the absolute best! The service is incredibly kind and the ambiance is that of any cool pizza shop but with better pizza! We're really lucky to have this here. All in all there is no better pizza anywhere in the county. If there were they woulda been 3 x world champs and not DTown but it's DTown pizza all day!

I hadn't had a Detroit pizza in a while, so I head over to Santa Monica Blvd. after attempting to order online, which presented me with a problem until I finally figured it out. I did not get applied the discount that I was offered, but when I explained it the manager gave me a coupon to use next time for my discount. I ordered the "D.B.M." Dtown Burrata Margherita GF. A bit pricey but then pizza prices have risen and I get penalized being Gluten intolerant. I'm not intolerant to the price if the GF pizza is very good and while my fav is the thin crust, this crust is so much better than Chicago deep dish only because it's lighter, has a nice crunch and you really taste the toppings. Besides I get two meals out of this pie. So get square and get going to this takeout joint.

Efficiency and stainless combined. Professional eye put this together.
    Liz L.

Being from NYC, I always assumed the only deep dish was Sicilian. Much later on I realized Chicago had great deep dish too. But! Nothing in deep dish comes close to Detroit-style pizza. I am late to this game but a quick learner. From now on, when we want deep dish pizza we will always choose Detroit style. And, the best I have had so far is definitely from dtown pizzeria, hands down. What I love about the WeHo location is easy parking during the late afternoon (say, 3-ish?), the fact that owner Ryan is there making each pie to order (and is so friendly and fast, too!), and the pizzas are superb. The crust is the feature I most appreciate in a Detroit-style pie. It is literally caramelized from the Wisconsin brick cheese that is incorporated with the dough. It is hard to describe the effect, but if cheese could be candy, this would be it. We got the 1946 Cheese and the "D.B.M" Dtown Burrata Margherita. Remember, we are vegetarians, so those two appealed to us the most. And they were divine, literally melt in your mouth perfect. See the photos. Now, remember, these are not huge, wide pies. We figure we could get two meals out of the two we ordered. They are filling, though. I especially appreciated the cloud-like pillows of burrata on the Margherita. I have never had mozzarella so expertly baked. The prices are very good, the place itself is clean and even inviting in a techno pizzacratic sort of way (look at the photos -- professional chefs will understand the efficiency and layout of the speed-racks and other stainless equipment. It looks sort of top of the line to me, with my baker's eye). It is a smallish, efficient little operation that does a few things but does them perfectly. The one thing I would advise? Eat your pizza there, even if you have to stand on the sidewalk to do it (there is seating, however, limited). That is the way to savor these masterpieces. Ours was room temp by the time we got it home and even then, we were rolling our eyes at how good they were. Next time, I am eating mine straight from Ryan's hands! I cannot imagine deep dish getting lighter, crisper, tastier, softer, meltier, mouth-pleasinger than these. Do not miss this opportunity. You will think you are in Motown.

Displayed in the bathroom. Our favorite quote of all time... Rocky!!!!

Place was nice and clean. My kids say the food was exquisite and the service was great. We loved this place. We are locals and this was our first time trying this place. The pizza was 100/100.

I love a Hardy deep dish pizza and with my wife being gluten-free vegan it's hard to find. I have just found heaven. This is Hardy. Tasty fresh tons of choices. I just finished eating four pieces and I'm still drooling and licking my lips thinking about it. I got them delivered and it was served in a wonderfully timely manner. The pizza was still hot. The driver was very engaging and friendly. I can't wait to go to the restaurant itself and see how quaint and cozy and wonderful it is a must try yummy yummy in my tummy deep dish gluten-free vegan holy cow well without the cow.

The pizza here is absolutely delicious! I suggest calling it in if you don't feel like waiting. Service was fine and they have a bit of seating, but ideal to go as well. There's a bit of free parking behind the store making it easier for pick up. The prices are high and the pizza on the small side, but don't be fold. It is extremely filling. High-quality ingredients and the pizza was perfectly baked. Great option for the area!

I never really noticed this place before a buddy of mine recommended. We hop in around lunchtime for some pizza and I have to say this is my new all-time favorite number one spot. The pizza is. #Bangingly Good!!! I got a medium pepperoni and mushroom. It was about $28. More than enough for two meals and I'm a big eater. Four big thick slices so I was stoked and I'm somewhat of a cheap as pinching my pennies, and I thought it was a good value. The pizza itself was Outstanding crunchy on the outside crispy cheese surrounded by thick doughy melted cheese goodness! I thought the quality was first rate! Decent spots to sit inside and out if you just can't wait and wanna throw a slice or two down your gullet. There's a sign inside about not yapping on your phone and PS don't come in hyper stinky or wearing too much cologne. I like and appreciate that anyway will I be back? Can someone give me a "Hell Yah!!"

We arrived a little early for our reservation, and even though they were busy, they seated us right away outside. Our table was along the walkway, which wouldn't necessarily be my first choice next time, but I appreciated that they got us settled without making us wait around. The outdoor area had a relaxed neighborhood feel, and it was nice being outside while the evening was warm. We started with the Fiori di Zucca. The squash blossoms were stuffed with ricotta and Parmigiano, lightly fried, and served with marinara. They were good, although they weren't the dish I found myself thinking about afterward. That honor goes to the mussels. I wasn't expecting them to be my favorite thing we ordered, but they absolutely were. The broth was flavorful enough that I kept going back to it after the mussels were gone, which is usually my personal test for whether a mussel dish has done its job. We also shared the Pappardelle alla Vaccinara with braised oxtail ragù, Parmigiano, and rosemary oil. The ragù had a deep, meaty flavor, and I liked how the rosemary oil cut through some of the richness. It was a solid pasta, but the mussels still won the night for me. My cocktail was light and refreshing, with cucumber and mint, and worked especially well with dinner outside. Everything we ordered was flavorful, and the meal made for a lovely belated birthday dinner. Parking around this stretch of 3rd can be a little tricky. I ended up finding street parking a few blocks away, but Oste does offer valet, which would have saved me the neighborhood parking hunt. For a first visit, I'm glad I finally got to try Oste. It was a relaxed, flavorful dinner and a really nice way to celebrate a belated birthday.

My husband has type 1 diabetes so we very rarely eat at Italian ristorantes. Tip for first-timers: go when you can have the brunch or the lunch menu. Then you'll have so many options that you'll have to return! Round 1 Polpettine (meatballs) are made from lentils and texture similar to the real ones; lovely marinara sauce and ground macadamia nut instead of parmesan. Complement this with the citrus notes that highlight the sauteed swiss chard with earthy Italian butter / gigante beans. Round 2 The same beans are in the Greek goddess salad: rich with tomatoes, kalamata olives, and fresh red onions. This was a visually stunning and paired well with the Sicilian almond 'tuna' melt. The tuna is by far the most imaginative. Again, Chef Tara and the back of the house nailed the texture and I loved the hints of crunchy celery. The capers injected tiny bursts of salt and tartness. The only moderation I'd consider is slightly crisping / toasting the sandwich bread -- but the tuna melt sando is great as it is. Pura Vida is a diamond in the rough especially because the storefront is pretty discreet. I sure wish that we lived closer. We'll be back for special occasions in our life!

Earlier this week, I even received a confirmation call, which I answered and confirmed. Yet, when we arrived, we were told our name wasn't on the list. Even after I showed explicit proof of the confirmation, the staff didn't offer a single apology. Instead, the host rudely told me they would put me at the "top of the list" and would only seat us if someone else with a reservation failed to show up. When I rightfully pointed out that we already had a confirmed reservation, I was met with a dismissive, "We can't do anything." It is one thing for a restaurant to completely screw up their reservation system, but it is another thing entirely to be aggressively rude and unapologetic to paying customers celebrating a special occasion. They completely ruined my girlfriend's birthday dinner and treated us like we were the problem. Avoid this place if you actually want your reservation honored or expect even a baseline level of human decency from the staff. Absolutely pathetic.

I honestly did not expect much but wow this place is really good. Def not cheap, kind of in the heart of LA, but I would come back here JUST for the Sweet Corn Agnolotti. Genuineley the best pasta ive ever tasted in my life. FOOD: Price: Pretty expensive, not too expensive but higher end ~$30 per plate Steak Tartare - $26 (3.7/5) Steak Tartare is alright. A little bland in my opinion. Kinda sad I spent 26$ on this because i really like tartare. The bread was amazing and the portions were good. Maybe i have high standards but it was ok! Sauce was good, beef was tender. Spicy Pomodoro - $29 (4.5/5) Now this is the plate that everyone has been talking about. It is actually very good. The pasta is perfectly cooked, and the sauce compliments the pasta so well. There was a lil dollop of riccotta on top and made the entire thing very creamy. Didnt read the ingredients, but the truffle tasted sooo good mixed into the pasta. Not full score bc it was good, but not something I would remember for years on end. Sweet Corn Agnolotti - $28 (1000/5) OK NOW THIS ONE oh my god this is genuinely the best pasta ive ever tasted. The server recommened this one and we decided to try it. CORN AND THE WHATEVER IT IS IN THERE. Some sort of engineering food genius created this masterpeice. I ate so slow because every single bite of the agnolotti was like heaven. The first bite I had I almost cried. Genuinely a masterpiece. Ive never had pasta that tasted like that. Every single ingredient in that dish was curated to perfection. PERFETLY COOKED PERFECTLY SEASONED. I would drive all the way here JUST for this dish. Hands down the best pasta Ive tried in my life and I am a foodie in LA!! THIS IS A MUST GET SO UNDERRATED VIBES: Amazing service, no parking at all! You either will have to wrap around and get lucky or do vallet, which wasnt too expensive. The vibes here are great though, it was pretty small, with only counter seating, and it is combined with another restaruant, Cento Raw Bar. I thought it was popular, but on a Sat night, it wasnt too busy. No reservation, waited around 10-15 mins, but we chilled at the Cento Raw Bar and got an appetizer. Would def come back, but it is a bit pricey!

I wouldn't recommend the mussels. Then we shared the carbonara and the spicy pomodoro. My friend really liked the carbonara but personally I thought it was okay. The spicy pomodoro was fantastic though. The right amount of flavor and creaminess. I can see why this is their best dish. To finish we got the banana pudding tiramisu. Honestly this was just okay. I heard so many rave reviews about this but maybe it was an off night but I've definitely have had better elsewhere.

I never feel like a customer at Osteria La Buca -- I always feel like a guest, and that means a lot. I've been going there for quite some time, and I've tried a large portion of the menu, probably a good 90% of it. Everything has been exceptional. Their Carbonara for example, is made properly, without cream, peas, or the other abominations that many restaurants add. "Other restaurants = Take lessons. The ricotta with agave is a lovely Italian Mexican wedding, the pizzas are tasty and so many other dishes are consistently fantastic. They also have a super solid wine selection, and the ambiance is wonderful both on the main floor and in the private dining room. The staff is always super friendly, and you can tell they are well trained and genuinely enjoy working there. That positive energy trickles down to the guests, and it shows by how packed the restaurant always is. Go there on a Monday at 8pm and you'll see what I'm taking about. (Make a rezzy before going is what I am trying to say, otherwise, you might end up waiting for a bit, but it's worth it anyway) I'm getting hungry just writing this review, so I better go "destroy" that Carbonara with a nice glass of Soave Classico (or really, any good Garganega) and enjoy a great chat with the bartenders at Osteria La Buca. Grazie, Osteria La Buca. Cheers!

The wine we had was recommended by the sommelier and was honestly some of the best we've had in the price range. Our waitress was friendly and knowledgeable with great recommendations. We took our kids to Disneyland and universal studios this week for vacation, and they both said the dinner was one of their favorite parts if that tells you anything! My husband got the wild boar ragu which was the best dish on the table. I got a alla'amatriciana dish - I'm sure I'm not spelling it right but it had smoked guanciale, tomatoes, red pepper flakes, and pecorino Romano. So good! My daughter got the lasagna and my other daughter got spaghetti in ragu. We all loved our food. I had heard that the restaurant had a beautiful atmosphere and delicious food, so I decided to try it. Overall, we had a very enjoyable dinner. The food was excellent, the atmosphere was wonderful, and the service was very attentive. However, one issue really disappointed me, and without it, I probably would have given this restaurant 5 stars. We ordered bottled water, and while our server was pouring it for us, he told us it was "unlimited water." However, when we received the bill, we discovered that we had been charged $10 per person for the water, for a total of $30. For our appetizer, we ordered the focaccia with ricotta cheese, and it was very good. We all enjoyed it, and there was even one piece left after everyone had eaten. For my entrée, I ordered the Agnolotti Truffle Pasta, and it was absolutely AMAZING! It was incredibly delicious and honestly one of the highlights of the entire meal for me. I would definitely come back to Alba just for this pasta. One friend ordered the Filet Toscano, and the other ordered the Branzino. We shared all three dishes so everyone could try everything, and all of the food was excellent. The portions were on the smaller side, but the quality and flavors were outstanding. I also really loved the ambience. We sat outside on the patio, and there was a small fan running behind our table, which was a nice touch. The service was also excellent overall. I drank a lot of water, and whenever my glass became empty, the server came by and refilled it. When I asked for an extra fork, it was brought very quickly. The staff was friendly, attentive, and regularly checked on us. Unfortunately, dessert was where my experience became disappointing. When I asked to see the dessert menu, our server told us that the restaurant does not have a dessert menu, but that he could tell us what desserts were available. He mentioned flan, white tiramisu, gelato, and lemon sorbet. I became curious about the white tiramisu, so I ordered it. When it arrived, one of my friends took a bite and immediately said that it tasted like there was alcohol in it. I took a bite as well, but I had to stop eating and spit it out. I had absolutely no idea that it contained alcohol, and I had not been told that it did. I personally did not want to consume alcohol, so I was very surprised. I wanted to ask our server whether there was alcohol in the tiramisu, but he was extremely busy because the restaurant was so crowded and did not come back to our table at that moment. Later, I ran into him on my way to the restroom and asked him about it. He told me that there was alcohol in it--specifically, cognac. I was honestly very surprised and asked again, "There was alcohol in it?" He then asked me if I wanted to have something else. I replied, "No, thank you, right now," but I don't think I could hide how disappointed I looked. Whenever alcohol is used in a food or dessert, I really think customers should be told before placing the order. Some people may have allergies or sensitivities, or even to certain types of alcohol. There could also be pregnant women who should not consume alcohol--not that I am pregnant, of course, but I worry that this could be an issue for someone else. There could also be someone taking medication that should not be mixed with alcohol because of possible side effects or interactions. That's why I was very disappointed that this information wasn't mentioned before I ordered the dessert, even if the restaurant was extremely busy this evening. That is why I was disappointed that this information was not mentioned before I ordered the dessert, even though the restaurant was extremely busy that evening. When we paid our bill and left, I later looked at the receipt more carefully at home and noticed that the dessert appeared to have been removed from the bill. Since I only took one bite and then spit it out, I think that was fair. I also wonder if they removed it because they realized I had not been informed that it contained alcohol and wanted to make it right. If that was the reason, I appreciate it. Aside from this issue, all of the food we had tonight was really delicious, the atmosphere was wonderful, and the service was excellent and very attentive. Overall, I had a really nice experience at Alba Italian Restaurant. My only major disappointment was not being informed beforehand that the white tiramisu contained alcohol. Since the restaurant told us they do not have a separate dessert menu, I really hope they will consider creating one in the future. I think it would be much better to have a dedicated dessert menu that clearly lists the ingredients in each dessert, especially whether any alcohol is used, so customers can read the descriptions and make an informed decision before ordering.
