This is speculation, but maybe Goat's is one of those places that considers itself a "regulars" bar, and isn't very nice to people who aren't regular customers, but the three (3) employees I interacted with weren't all that inviting. All in all, Goat's was a great experience, and if it were an option, I'd probably give it something like 4.5 or 4.8 stars if I could. But the bed of shaved Brussels with a skin on trout was an absolutely perfect pairing that almost made me want to do it all again that very same night. Brussels are typically boiled mushy or oven roasted, and I always saw them to be limited in flavor profiles.. But the nutty flavor they brought to this dish changed my mind on this vegetable potential. The skin of the trout was crunchy, but amazing. The Brussels were delicate and soft with so much flavor. The sauce on top was a perfect pairing. I was blown away that I had been to this establishment 100+ times and never tried this dish, which I will happily add to the rotation. I typically don't do dessert here, but decided to try the apple crostata. The flavor was amazing. The portion was for two, my waistline now wishes there was a declaration or option of for two or for one when ordered. Overall, I highly recommend the trout with shaved Brussels. Their scallops are consistently good.
