6/15/26 Monday night.....WOW.....still amazing and consistent Resturaunt with a nice atmosphere,…read moremusic is just right and you can hear yourself and your dinner partner without yelling or raising your voice. The house burger with fries has become our favorite. In fact we consider it the best hamburger in Columbia by far. Always cooked to perfection and served hot and fresh. More favorites are the ribeye and the prime rib. Also the fresh caught salmon. Oh, and the half rack (or full rack) of ribs and Hawaiian chicken. The waiters and waitresses are all outstanding. Our waitress tonight was Lydia and she is awesome. Very attentive and makes sure that the order comes out correct and served promptly. They have a brand new "A" rating on the door so obviously they keep it clean and are quick to make corrections. We have seen them slammed and quiet, but they always do a wonderful job cooking and serving their customers to make them happy. Highly recommend and will continue to enjoy one of our favorite go-to places for a great dinner.

We get there and that is not the menu. Everything is fried or burgers! There is nothing that had looked so good on the menu. Absolutely nothing! But I try to order anyway. The waitress explained that they only had a flat top grill to cook with so that explained the food. She was extremely nice and did take care of us. The food was mediocre at best. We ordered drinks from the bar but both times had to wait for the bartender to finish have an extensive conversation with other customers. The bill was over 100$. Which I didn't mind paying but for what we ordered didn't seem reasonable. The only thing this place has going for it,is the lake. It is nice to be able to look at the water while you eat. Nice setting.! Not going back!!

When I walked in, I was amazed at what I saw inside, as it definitely was not what I was expecting (and I mean that in a good way!). I loved how dimly lit it was inside, which was complemented by miniature lights that were strung from the ceiling. Speaking of the aforementioned change of pace, I also appreciated how there were no TVs inside, which created an intimate atmosphere that focused more on conversing with your friends than watching whatever may have been on TV. Finally, as someone who always pays attention to a restaurant's artwork... I absolutely LOVED the artwork that was on display at Goat's. They had so many cool pieces of eclectic artwork, that you could almost consider it as much a small art museum as a restaurant. My favorite art piece is kind of hard to describe, but I guess you could say that it was of a God-like man in a suit controlling somebody who was playing golf. (I know, it's hard to describe, but like I said, it's eclectic.) My one (1) downside to Goat's, and the only thing keeping it from a five-star review, is that the bartender and servers were all pretty rude and arrogant. This is speculation, but maybe Goat's is one of those places that considers itself a "regulars" bar, and isn't very nice to people who aren't regular customers, but the three (3) employees I interacted with weren't all that inviting. All in all, Goat's was a great experience, and if it were an option, I'd probably give it something like 4.5 or 4.8 stars if I could. If the servers were a little less full of themselves, or maybe just in a better mood, I'd consider it a five-star experience. Nevertheless, Goat's was a great experience, I'll definitely be back, and I'd recommend that anybody stop in if they're looking for a unique experience in Five Points!

I know, that sounds strange but this chicken Parmesan was one of the best I've ever had. Another great thing was the pasta. Perfectly cooked angel hair. Al dente, not mushy - which is difficult to get right. IYKYK Angel hair overcooks in 30 seconds flat! The 2nd entree blew my mind! It was the smoked and fried half hen. The aroma of this dish when they served immediately had my mouth watering and my tummy rumbling loudly. The crust on the chicken was perfect. Thin and super crunchy with amazing flavor. The meat was tender, juicy and smoky. It was served on top of a crispy cornbread cake studded with fresh corn kernels and fresh jalapeño. The field peas were very well seasoned, and although I didn't see any ham or bacon, I suspect they were seasoned with some sort of pork, but I could be wrong. I was also very pleased to find that they had a Chenin blanc wine on their list that night because it's one of my favorites white wines but really hard to find. Well, I hope you find this review helpful. Both dishes are worthy of being permanently on the menu
