It's none of those and just like you I wanted to fix up my house with an improvement to my kitchen with some random picture I found on IG. I contacted several people; one company from Angie gave me some ridiculous $8k-$10k estimate based on a picture I sent (no measuring or on-site job walk). The other was Falcone who gave me an appointment time and never showed up. It got frustrating but I kept at it and saw all these reviews for Jayrock Tile. Jason from Jayrock Tile showed up early and I showed him my IG photo telling him, "I really want this". He helped me so much with educating me on what I now call "Tile 101". I learned a great deal, and I made a few changes with the new knowledge he helped me with. His crew arrived early and I already knew it was the beginning of what turned out to be the best decision I've made for my home improvement. The Jayrock Tile crew walked in, they set up outside and just began what looked like a focused nonstop task of knocking out my kitchen. I walked by to peak each time, and the two-man crew were just moving! In the few seconds I saw them go from left to right then inside & out. I know nothing of tile work, but I can tell you that they didn't skip a beat and were making progress each time I looked in to see how it was looking. I was rather impressed at their progress and speed. I heard the saw constantly cutting away at the tile and never realized how much was required to make each piece fit. I knew the picture I had showed a much larger backsplash and kept thinking "did I make a mistake", "will it even look the same"... After they finished, I walked in and saw my kitchen. It was beyond what I expected, and I couldn't stop thanking his crew. It's wild that I saw a picture, asked if it could be done and now, I have that same design in my house too! Sadly, I see other reviews here about "horrible customer service" and I wasn't there so I don't know why that encounter ended up that way? What I can tell you about my experience is that Jason is a super cool dude that's down to earth. He helped me with what I wanted and gave me so much information to make what I wanted look amazing. His crew which sadly I never got their names because they were just "Hi" and straight to work!! Those two guys were awesome!!! I am beyond happy with how everything turned out! I've heard of some companies where not everything turns out as great. I can tell you that the quotation was perfect and within my budget. The crew was amazing, they didn't break anything, they were professional (I have toddlers), and they did the most amazing level of work in my home. I hope that you find this review helpful and please know that its real, not paid for (I wish they paid me) or from some AI robot nonsense.

I accepted the higher price and purchased materials. After that, new rules were introduced, including a requirement to pay a deposit a week before the job just to be placed on the schedule. When I asked to keep communication on Yelp for transparency, the contractor's tone changed and he ultimately canceled the project. I'm leaving this review so others know to keep everything documented and confirm all terms before buying materials.

He had to have made every effort to be conservative with his cuts because I still had tile left over when he was done. He did an excellent job with cuts. The finished project looks perfect! In addition, in a different area of my home, he pulled up some loose tiles in order to replace them properly. The original adhesive was almost impossible to remove but Mike got the job done. I requested tiles to be installed in the restroom as well as replacement laminate flooring for the damaged areas. He gave me a rough estimate of how much his labor would cost. I picked up the materials and he and his team started at their next availability. His team was very professional. Not only that but the small details that shined through the workmanship was impressive. Section after section they would clean as they went and that told me a lot about who I hired to have work in my home. Not only myself, but the…read moreother Plumber I received a quote from, agreed, that any plumber doing a reconnection after countertops are installed, it is a give in, that the plumbing under sink need to be reconfigured for an upgrade/remodel. Reconfiguring after a countertop Is what I thought I was being quoted. Jose quoted me $360.00 for the plumbing re-connection. My Sink was installed already, all that had to be done was the plumbing reconnection underneath. Upon Jose's arrival, he got to work, only to call me to the kitchen 30 minutes later, and tell me he needed a longer hose, and it was going to be $80.00 more than he quoted me. I hesitantly said, ok, Jose. About another 30 minutes later, he again, calls me, to tell me that now he needed different valves, and it would be around $120.00 more than he quoted. At this time, I was like, how can this be, that he did not see everything he needed to do. There was nothing under the sink, he could clearly see what he needed to accomplish, why does he keep adding on money. Now, picture this, this was all done, while he kept stepping outside to take calls. I mean, all morning long, where my Housekeeper even had said, wow, how unprofessional is this guy. I just nodded, didn't want to say much, because I wanted this to be done and over with, considering he kept raising his quote. Jose left to go pick up the new valves and longer pipe, and comes back 2 or more hours later. Jose finally finishes under the sink and I'm about to pay him through Zelle $560.00 and then he pulls out a receipt for $83.00, I was floored. Highway robbery! I ended up paying $643.75. My Dad arrived at my house and told me this was unacceptable. I said, look Dad, let this guy leave, and I will never have to deal with him again. My Dad suggested he took advantage of a girl who didn't know much, i said, could be, but we can't speculate, let's just go off facts. The fact that he kept raising the price on me is enough to say, I feel pretty taken advantage of. I will upload the original quote, along with final payment. Another pic i will share, is the other Plumber saying, everything Jose did, is common for the reconnection of plumbing, so why did he keep up-charging!!! I have been pretty bummed about the whole scenario, OH, did i mention how he was done with everything and the pipe was leaking where he had to come back and fix? I'm surprised he didn't charge me for that, too!!! I will include that pic, too. CUSTOMERS BEWARE!
