Wow, very impressed by the selection in the Poinsettia greenhouse-- in fact, I never knew there were so many different colors and varieties! It was nice and warm inside with little wagons provided for ease of browsing. They also had many arrangements in cute ceramic pots or decorative wood crates and metal sculptures. Rows upon rows of elegant poinsettias! The standard versions were a reasonable $10. The fancier arrangements were in the $30-60 range, with some of the grandest ones at $100. There is a bathroom for customers, as well as free butter cookies and hot apple cider. Be warned, they only accept cash or personal check! read more

I always get my poinsettias for the church at Duarte's. I order ahead and they always have them ready, help me load, and wait patiently for me to do all my other shopping! It's a fun and beautiful place, the people are helpful and friendly and they serve cookies and hot cider! I'm a pastor and I'll drive to Duarte's from wherever I'm serving. Duarte poinsettias have filled my churches in Oakhurst, Santa Rosa, Rohnert Park and San Francisco. I'm sure they adorn many other churches far and near as well. read more

Thousands of grape vines purchased from these folks, all were contaminated with Red Blotch virus. Joel M, Oregon rep refused to acknowledge complaint and request to examine. Duarte HQ has done nothing to make any restitution. read more

The worse place to work, They put a lot of pressure on the employees, They payed hourly but they treat you as if you were working under contract cause they require a huge amount of work done, the managers are very unprofessional they make you feel like prison... read more

Please check your stock!- We purchased several thousand Almond trees from this nursery and as a newcomer to growing trees, did not realize that Almond trees are graphed, and we ended up with the root stocking taking over. When I called the nursery and spoke with Steve Shubert, he was not helpful and would not give an sort of discount on us having to purchase another 200 trees to replace the bad root stock trees. He said we should have come with them within the first year, and they would have given us a percentage back. If I was an expert I would have, but no understanding, and I asked for any small discount, and was refused flatly. I know now for the future- so please check your trees and report back ASAP. read more

The most beautiful and largest selection of poinsettias I've ever seen. Forget the grocery store or discount stores and drive out to Hughson. A greenhouse as far as the eye can see just full of these beauties. So many types and colors that it's hard to make a decision. $8.00 for a big, beautiful, bushy plant is a steal. I splurged and purchased 2 extra large (37 in tall) poinsettia's plants to donate to a monastery for the Christmas altar. The sisters informed me that the leaves were dropping so she watered them twice, 3 days apart, the plants are now 12 days after purchase. The plants are now not suitable for the altar. Before I gave the sisters the plants I placed several cuts on the bottom of the foil (as recommended by your instruction sheet) and purchased your pots to prevent any water logging in the plant and to protect the altar. The sisters have been decorating the Christmas altar for over 80 years with poinsettias for the Christmas Holidays and if they have been able to do this for 80 years and not have a problem until now, and to put the blame on them is uncalled for. This is poor customer relations. So this has caused the sisters an unhappy event for the Christmas Holiday and for me who lost $120 for the plants and 12 extra for the pots. Sorry that I could not give zero stars for customer relations.... read more

Ordered 472 vines and instructed Gloria to box it so we can pick it up on the way back to SoCal. We left Napa @ 4am so we can get to Duarte Nursery between 7 and 8am. We are carrying over 300 gallons worth of premium wine from Rutherford Napa and we want to travel when it's cool and to arrived at the winery early enough to prevent spoilage. We got there and it was not box and they told us it will take 20 minutes to do it ..2 hours after I spoke to a manager named Alma and said it will take another 20 minutes. In the meantime it is past 11am and the weather is warming up pretty fast. She said they are not responsible for the wine spoilage because they are still packing the vines? No accountability on their part? The Duarte brothers need to invest on customer service skills of their staff. read more

I purchased pistachio rootstock from Duarte which I discovered was contaminated with plant pathogenic bacteria Rhodococcus fascians! This bacteria has stunted the trees and I found out they have sold these diseased trees to pistachio growers in AZ and CA. read more
