    shirt sleeve.

I returned the item that had been washed and ironed because they didn't do it well, there were parts of the shirt left unironed that could be seen with the naked eye when I showed it to her, she saw it but told me that there was no one who could iron it again at that time. She only told me that I had to leave it so they could do it again but I didn't have time because that day he was going to use the shirt. The lady's attitude is not good she is very rude.

    Ripped seam.

This was my first time using this business and I was gravely disappointed. First, I turned in my service uniform on Friday and was told it would be ready the following Tuesday. Mind you, the drive is 25 min out of my way. So I get there only to be told that it was not ready. I asked for them back because I needed it done as soon as possible and was told that it would be ready the very next morning. They did give me a discount, however, due to their mistake initially I was unable to prepare the uniform in a timely manner. Additionally, upon picking up the uniform, which is brand new by the way, I notice that the seam is ripped. I am so disgusted at this point that I refuse to take it back. Ai am sure someone noticed it, yet they gave it to me without mentioning anything. Now I have to have it repaired. I will not be returning.

**This review is targeted at the alterations portion of the business only** Tried to charge me $143.46 to hem EACH bridesmaid dress . Simple hem, pictured below. I purchased the dresses online for about $150 each. I found it hilarious that they would charge me about the same to shorten a very straightforward hem. I was told that it was so expensive "because of the chiffon". I thought the price sounded outrageous so my sisters and I went to the car to do some research and to see if we could find another seamstress to do the hems in time for the wedding. Luckily we found an honest woman that agreed to do the dresses for between $40-$80 each dress, even though they "were chiffon". So we immediately went back in, took the dresses, and cancelled the order. I'm not sure if people pay this routinely, or if the price was higher because they knew I was a Bride and these were Bridesmaid dresses. I really don't like to post negative and/or lengthy reviews, but according to the internet the average price to alter a chiffon dress is $43/hem. The most unfortunate part of the entire experience was the time wasted, so shame on me for not being more aggressive and upfront with them about the price, but shame on Dublin Cleaners for not being forthcoming about their higher than average prices.

    Fast bridal dress cleaning?

I guess it depends on your definition of fast. We have done clean only within a couple weeks, as fast as a week in the right circumstances. Bridal gowns are not something to be rushing, they are very delicate and need lots of attention.

Summary: Original Alterations did not complete a simple hem per my request and now I will have to…read morebuy another new pair of pants (and pay to get that new pair hemmed also). What happened: I took my young teenage child in to have their new Scout pants hemmed. We had just bought the pants new and big enough with room to grow (a Scout is Thrifty). I asked Original Alterations to hem and keep the extra fabric folded up inside the hem so we could let them out longer as the child grew during puberty. Instead, at pickup I learned that they cut off the excess fabric and made a normal hem (which was not what I repeatedly requested at drop off). While the hem was clean and on-time, I am now out $64.99 + tax (probably more with inflation when I have to buy another pair next year) for when I have to buy another new pair of pants when my child outgrows the wrongly-shortened legs, plus I'll have to pay for another hemming ($18 + tax) on that second new pair of pants. Here I was trying to do something extra to make my child feel proud of their final years in their Scout uniform, and demostrate the value of thriftiness. I was also trying to support a small local business. When I called Original Alterations out on their mistake at pickup, they claimed that what I asked couldn't be done (which they did not tell my child and I when we left the pants to be hemmed after try on). They offered no apology or refund (nor any other type of customer recovery). Well, just like many experiences in Scouting, this was a learning opportunity: (1) make sure you have someone repeat, paraphrase, and/or demonstrate exactly what you need if you have a specific request. (2) if something cannot be done per someone's request, tell them up front, or tell them as soon as you can once you're partway along (and let the customer decide). Do not say "yes" to someone's requests and then either come across as unintelligent (not seeking understanding), incompetent (being unable to do a fairly routine task), or unscrupulous (do what you wish and hope the customer either doesn't notice or has no choice but to pay to get their item back). (3) If you make a mistake, be empathetic and apologize. Offer some form of customer recovery (e.g., full or partial refund for incorrect services; free next alteration with no expiration, etc.). Sure, mistakes happen--it is your actions afterward that can make a substantial difference. Original Alterations took their actions and non-actions, IMHO. My action is letting other customers know of our poor experience and choosing to not do business with them any more.

We discussed the alterations needed and I paid in in full $238 to take the shoulders in on both dresses. I came to try on and pick up and neither dress fit! The shoulders had been altered is such a weird way It made me look like I was hanging from a meat hook! There were strings hanging and both dresses were a wrinkled mess! I showed her neither dress was wearable.. she agreed that one dress was ill fitting but the other one she seemed ok with.??? I asked her to redo them and needed to pick them up a day later as she was going on vacation and our schedules didn't coordinate after.. I picked up my dresses on Wednesday.. The one dress was improved but not great.. my other dress is a total loss.. it has been hacked apart re sewn with puckers gaps and strings hanging..She never came back out from her sewing room to ask me about the ruined dress or anything?( she was hiding I know she knew she had ruined the dress) Maybe once long ago she had skills but they are not there anymore.. She was rude and dismissive and could have cared less. I am seeking a refund for the alterations on one dress plus damages or replacement if the ruined dress.. I am considering small claim court my total damages were $650
