I just had my first cleaning at DeLuca Dental. Hillary was the hygienist. She was friendly. She took the time to explain what she was doing and the purpose behind it. As much as I don't like going to the dentist, she has a very delicate touch and it was painless. I started going to Deluca after treating with the same dentist for over 20 years. I left there because I felt my prior dentist was condescending and a bit patronizing. Dr. Deluca is very friendly. He free we discussed options of tooth whitening with me and did not make me feel like I would make mistake if I choose to use crest white strips. My husband has been a patient here for many years. Nice subtle attempt to discredit me, Jennifer D. This is in no way the FIRST time you're hearing about my dissatisfaction. I think Dr. DeLuca is WELL aware of how frustrated I was with his practice before I left and if my comments are not documented in my file, I'd call that a lack of due diligence. This is my first PUBLIC condemnation of his practice because I am so upset by the issues that have cropped up due to his bad work. Dental issues crop up over long periods of time. Bruxism due to an improperly installed crown wears down the teeth over months and years. 5-6 years after Dr. DeLuca's poor crown work, I'm having issues due to my bite being EXTREMELY off. The entire left side of my teeth DO NOT TOUCH top and bottom and have not since the crown he put in. Sound a bit like gross mal-alignment? My JAW is also ERODING because of my bite being so uneven (my bite was perfect before the crown was installed - something I could again prove with dental records). A fact NEVER pointed out by Dr. DeLuca in all of his follow up X-rays, but I do recall him trying to "adjust" my bite about 12 times immediately AFTER the crown was installed. He knew it wasn't installed properly from day one! The hygienist I like at your practice, a few years after installation, reported to him that that the gap between the crown and my nearest molar was so wide that food was regularly getting caught causing gum inflammation. Once the hygienist yelled at him over it, he finally tried to resolve it with bonding material (which has since falling out). I had told him numerous times that food kept getting stuck in there...he ignored me. Furthermore, it was my first crown. I had no idea what to expect. I'll have my records sent to my new dentist for review and we'll see if mal-alignment and jaw erosion were present years ago and Dr. D. just neglected to tell me - then we'll have a real case on our hands...a legal one. But, if you want to go point by point, no problem. My recent experience with a very experienced dentist, a hygienist and an independent endodontist has not helped my prior opinion of Dr. DeLuca. These professionals, his PEERS have reviewed his work via X-ray and their feedback is not complimentary. 1. Dr. DeLuca or his father owns a company that makes dental materials - this he has mentioned to me and my family. I know a lot of dentists offer "same day crowns," but this is different and 'same day crowns' were not available during the time frame I'm referencing - so your point is moot. The composite material he put in my mouth cracked several times. Though he blamed my bruxism, I've always questioned the quality of the materials he uses and his work. My current dentist and endodontist agree (two independent reviews) - the fillings were not put in properly. They are square and do not contour to the natural curves of my teeth causing gaps above the fillings. Bacteria can get trapped in those gaps causing decay. The current recommendation by BOTH professionals is to remove the improper fillings and redo them - two INDEPENDENT professionals think Dr. D's work is not well done. 2. The cracked filling had already been replaced by Dr. DeLuca TWICE by the time I got fed up and left your practice. I bought a night guard from you and wore it - the filling still cracked. Now, that tooth needs a root canal and a new crown. The current recommendation is that we root canal that tooth, remove all the poorly done fillings, and replace the crown if my bite doesn't improve with a new night guard. Essentially, to fix Dr. DeLuca's work a mere 5 years later. This has been verified by THREE professionals. I'm glad Dr. DeLuca continues to educate himself. My advice - slow the F down when you're treating your patients, LISTEN to them when they tell you "my teeth aren't touching AT ALL," "food keeps getting caught where the crown is?" "I never grinded my teeth before the crown - could it be the cause?" No, of course not...per Dr. DeLuca, it was all 'stress' causing me to grind. Stress that started the very same week the crown was installed. I suppose stress is eroding my jaw, too? You can't blame everything on the patient - we aren't all sheep. read more

Presidents day weekend and I had a sore spot my mouth and called the dentist and they got the right in with no problems. Very clean temperature checked when you walk in and hand sanitizer to use. Very quick and fast. Highly recommend Dr. Deluca I have been going there for many years and everybody at their office is amazing. read more

Everyone working in Dr DeLuca's office is so friendly and professional! From the front desk staff to the dental assistants. Their office has a welcoming and personable vibe. I've been here twice - two months ago for a routine cleaning, and a couple weeks ago I returned for cavity fillings. Both times, I was treated by Dr. Richie Tran, the associate there. He was so gentle and made the treatments so comfortable! He was very mindful of being gentle, walked me through what he was doing and took the time to answer my questions I had. I've visited many other dentists in the past who were hasty and rough during cleanings. Dr Tran was definitely not like that--he was thorough and gentle. Dr. DeLuca is not only hysterical (he will tell you stories about his extracurricular singing group and his teenage son's rock band) but very good at his craft. I went this morning to replace two fillings that I've cracked from grinding. One was a FREE replacement of a filling Dr. DeLuca had previously done (within the span of 2 years, they will fix/correct/replace fillings that they have performed for free) and one was a replacement of an old filling. I only paid about $88 for the old filling (of course my insurance has a lot to do with that). Most notably - I felt no pain! Dr. DeLuca used a numbing agent before injecting the analgesic for my filling procedure. He then was SO gentle giving the injection that I didn't feel them - nor did I experience any discomfort during the fillings. I had scheduled to be an hour late to work to accommodate my appointment, but they had me in and out in under an HOUR! Upon his recommendation, I"m getting a Night Guard to prevent future issues from grinding my teeth. Dr. DeLuca even went so far as to offer me a discount because my insurance doesn't cover the guard. Staff is friendly, service is great, Brenda the insurance coordinator is "on top of things" and it's nice knowing that even if you have to get a dreaded filling - it will be nearly painless! read more

If you live in the East Bay, there's really no other dentist to go to! In fact, I moved to Brooklyn and I still schedule all my dental appointments with Dr. DeLuca when I'm back in California. I've always been a little squeamish at the dentist. Given my love of candy, I usually wind up needing a filling or two every few years. It's so rare to find a doctor who listens to you (especially with gauze in your mouth). He and his staff are super friendly, communicative and great at what they do.
