It's one of my favorite cuisines, so I was excited to try this place after finding it on Yelp. It was my last night in town on a work trip, and I finally had a little time to unwind on my own before heading home the next day. As soon as I walked in, I could tell from the atmosphere that I had found the right spot. I sat at the bar and was greeted almost immediately by the bartender (Laura M.), who was friendly and attentive throughout. The couple of other patrons nearby were also welcoming. At this point, I'm starting to think that might just be a Knoxville thing. This was my third trip to the city, I think, and I've had a similar experience each time. I ordered the Scotch egg with blueberry compote and the cottage pie with a side of onion gravy. I would have liked a little more sausage on the Scotch egg, but that is about the only critique I can come up with. Everything was hot, fresh, and full of flavor, and both are dishes I would absolutely order again. I also tried a couple of local beers: a PB&J sour from XUL Beer Company that somehow really did taste like drinking a PB&J sandwich, and the Dr. Robot Blackberry Lemon Sour from Monday Night Brewing. Both were excellent. Overall, this was a great experience, and I'll definitely be looking for a reason to come back to Knoxville just so I can eat here again.

The fish was a single piece that was about two inches thick and about six inches long. It was very flaky and very well cooked. Plenty of chips came with the order. They were well seasoned. The star of the meal was my wife's order of Bangers and Mash. The Bangers were good but the mashed potatoes with gravy and onions were perfect. If I were ordering again that's what I would get. If you are okay with minimal table service and slightly loud music, then I would definitely give it a shot.

For a traditional pub, fish and chips should be one of the best things on the menu, less than par. The beer cheese soup was a highlight. Very good. We also ordered some type of pear cheeseburger. Different, but not bad. I'd try something else if I were to return. The decor is traditional pub meets modern hipster vibes. Hard to screw up. Although, limited beer options. The prices were very reasonable on the foods and drinks and they have happy hour specials on weekdays. The decor is warm and inviting with an Irish flare. The live edge bench by restrooms is a work of art. We came by boat and filled up with gas at Burnside marina and they let us park there. We called the Lucky Pint and they picked us up. We also had the fish and chips which were plenty good - lots of dill in the tartar sauce. No complaints here.
