10/10 great atmosphere. Rare to find a bar with such an authentic atmosphere. The decor is incredible and worth stopping in to just look around.

Authentic Irish pub with great atmosphere. For those that complain about the service, understand that that the owner, manager, and bar tender are the same person, cut him some slack.

It didn't look like much from the outside, but this was the most authentic Irish pub that I've ever stepped foot in. You have to visit all the different rooms to understand, but I felt like I was in Ireland from the decor to hearing owner Father Brendan tell stories in his Irish accent. Whatever you do, don't order an Irish Car Bomb. As the other reviews mention, you'll get berated by the owner or denied service. Fortunately, I ordered Guinness and had a great experience at the bar and enjoyed playing pool.

Looks Irish, feels Irish, and tastes Irish. Although the times open are subject to change, I enjoyed catching it open one day after work. The ambiance sets it apart.

Bartender is the reason you go! Father makes this bar run, he's friendly, hilarious, and kind. This bar has many different rooms, instruments to play (guitar, piano, etc.) and games such as darts, billiards, and jenga. The alcohol selection is vast and please do not ask the father to make an Irish car bomb. It's offensive and frankly not a great drink.

Great place to have a drink in an authentic Irish pub. The gentleman that runs it is amazing to talk with and is a delight to listen to the stories.

We were seated quickly with no wait, and the staff was all very friendly and the service was prompt. My son was happy to see mac and cheese on the kid's menu. It looked like standard Kraft mac and cheese, served with fries, so he liked it. I got the grilled cheese and tomato bisque, and both were very good. Overall, we were happy to have found Chester Brunnenmeyer's and had a good experience, good food and a nice cold beer.

My child wouldn't touch their food so I tried a bite - immediately had to rinse my mouth out. Something is off with the oil or ingredients they're using. They did take it off the bill but we sat there forever waiting for someone to even come check on us. My sticky ribs were sauce wise but really fatty and cheap quality. The biggest issue arose when I went to pay my $19.04 bill, the "20% tip" on the machine came out to $5.61. I pointed it out to the server right there and he acted confused and played dumb, which was frustrating. The custom tip button wasn't even working so I couldn't fix it myself, and with my kid losing it I just had to pay and go. It wasn't until I did the math in the car that I realized just how off it really was -- that's almost 29.5%, not 20%. This left me with a really yucky feeling. Just double check the math on that tip screen before you pay. I have a feeling this has caught a lot of people without them realizing it. Needless to say, I won't be returning here.

Got invited to a drum circle in Gatrlinburg by my girlfriend's son…read more We went out that morning to see Cades Cover (big mistake - it was Memorial Day) and swung back around through Townsend (stopped at Mountain Man to have a craft brew on the way). Knowing we were going up to the arts district, I looked for a place to meet them before the circle and saw there was a Celtic Pub. Only that was the spot where the drum circle was. And, to my surprise, it is the same owner as the Fox & Parrot Tavern in Gatlinburg, one of my favorite English pubs (and currently closed do to a feud with the US government - hope that gets fixed). The place is definitely British country feeling. Very nice tap list, including both local brews and standard UK brews. Heavy wood feeling with a very nice deck outside, which includes some spots under cover (which was important as it rained on the circle and people had to duck in). There is nothing elegant about the place or the food. But that is its charm. The fish & chips were on point, esp. with the malt vinegar. Shepherd's Pie a bit salty for my tastes, but not to the salt lick level. Also came with chips. As for the drum circle, if you are reading this in June 2026, that is every Monday at 6-8 PM through the end of the month. I got some great drone footage of the circle, which I added to this review.

I would never come here if I was in a hurry, but if you have 2+ hours to eat and want good food in a storied place with staff who will treat you like friends, you're going to love the Rampant Lion. NOTES: -In rural TN, it should not surprise you, but be aware that they have Trump displays in the restaurant. -The restrooms are single stall and accessed from outdoor. They're indoor restrooms - just the door to access them is on the outside. (No porta potties) They're solidly clean - just make sure to pack clothing that works for the temperature outside because you might be dipping outside a few times. -Parking lot is small and gravel. Relatively easy to get in and out of though. -Amazing gin selection with staff that *clearly* knows their gins. -Adorable photos of the owners on slideshow of their trip to Europe on the wall. It's adorably and clearly a couple who was on a good vacation. We've had a good chunk of their menu at this point. Pretzels: Delicious beer chese AND delicious pretzels. Quite a bit of food with this too. Bread, Oil, & Vinegar: Wasn't super fond of this one. A ton of oil in a bowl made it hard to get the right oil-to-vinegar ratio. Chicken Pie: Deliciously breaded with super-tasty french fries too. Served piping hot, so it took a bit to be able to eat it without burning myself but a wait well-made. Reuben: Partner absolutely loved it and said the bread was the absolute perfect consistency. SO much meat in there too (though he said it could use a bit of extra dressing). Bubbles and Squeak: Delicious. Just delicious. Zero notes, you should eat it. Beanie Weenies: Home-made right in the restaurant! My favorite thing on the menu. Super savory, semi-healthy (beans...at least?), and served super warm. Comfort food at its finest. Menu in-restaurant was different than online one on a few things.

What really sets this place apart is the service. The staff genuinely cares about the customers, not in a forced corporate way, but in a real, personal way that you don't see very often anymore. You can tell there is a lot of pride in what they do, and it shows in every interaction. The food is just as impressive. Everything we ordered was packed with flavor, tasted homemade, and the portions were more than fair. It is the kind of place where you leave full, happy, and already thinking about what you want to try next time. Add in the fun crowd, relaxed energy, and the feeling that you are part of the community while you are there, and this place becomes more than just a bar or restaurant. Instead of being turned away or treated like a burden, we were immediately welcomed and found a great spot upstairs with awesome views of the village. The food and drinks completely delivered. We started with the soft pretzels and beer cheese (excellent), but the absolute standout was the Celtic Spice Bag for the entree. I can't recommend it enough--you have to try it. I've been to a lot of Irish pubs around the world, including plenty in Ireland. A lot of places think that slapping some Claddaghs, harps, and four-leaf clovers on the wall while blasting the same five pub songs we all know by heart is enough to make an Irish pub. Boudicca's has the decor and the music, sure, but that's not why we'll be coming back. When you walk into a real pub over on Salt Hill in Galway Bay, what actually makes the place special is the atmosphere. It's the genuine welcome from the people, the care behind the bar, and food that feels unique. Boudicca's captured that exact feeling right in the middle of Tennessee.
