Absolute best donuts I have ever tasted. LOVE that they are so fresh and melt in your mouth when eating them. There are so many options for toppings, the combinations are endless! I like that they have some precreated donuts ideas, great for your first time going if you're unsure of what to get. The breakfast sandwiches may be my favorite, I usually get the sausage, egg and cheese on a donut with maple drizzle on top. Delish!! Plus the staff is always very friendly and attentive. Finally tried Duck Donuts and my family loved it. This review is based on going 2 days in a row! The donuts were warm and very cute. Chocolate Peanut butter and the bacon donut were favorites. We even tried the breakfast sandwich on a donut and my son loved it. Coffee was good too! A suggestion I have with all the decadent donuts I was surprise they didn't have regular whole milk in a bottle. They had chocolate and vanilla but not regular. Service was very friendly and helpful. The sweet young lady there knowing we were hoping for regular milk gave my daughter a cup.....that was totally awesome. So good we went 2 days in a row!!!! read more

While en route to visit family nearby, we planned a stop at Duck Donuts first. We had heard a lot about this chain from a friend, and some of our family members had visited the one out in PA and were raving about it, so we knew this was a must-try. We arrived on a Sunday afternoon about 1/2 hour before they closed at 3pm. There was a line inside and it took us about 10 minutes to get to the front to place our order. Once the orders were placed, the longer wait was for getting our order made. Being that it was a hot day and we had a stop to make, we only ordered a donut apiece. I usually prefer yeast doughnuts over the cake variety, but these doughnuts are freshly fried in front of you, customized while you wait, and you get them as fresh as is possible. As a result, I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed mine. I opted for maple icing with chopped bacon and it was simply delicious, moist, and not too dense. The ratio of glaze to cake was just right and the flavors complimented each other perfectly. The cake was vanilla and was the ideal canvas for this flavor combination. My son ordered one with vanilla icing with Oreo crumbles, while wifey ordered lemon icing with coconut I believe. Out of the 3, I most preferred mine. My son's was fine but could have used a little more Oreo on top. Wife's flavor combo was good, but we thought it was a tad too sweet - probably the lemon icing's doing. At the register, there was a container which had cut up pieces of cinnamon sugar donuts which were simple and nice as well. All in all, I enjoyed the experience. It was cool to see the little fryer behind the assembly line which was spitting out the freshly fried doughnuts. I also admired the skill with which the young staffers glazed, dipped, and otherwise assembled/prepared each doughnut, one at a time. Whether you order to-go, dine in, or order ahead to pick up, I'd suggest a visit to Duck Donuts. We will be back when in the area. Unfortunately for us (or luckily for our waists) there is not a Duck location near us. That just means it won't get played out and we will enjoy even more when we next venture over to this next of the woods. read more

I'm going to start by saying that I find a lot of donuts too sweet. Taking a donut and fixing it up with different frostings definitely fits this bill. That being said, I did like Duck Donuts. The service was quick and friendly, the donuts certainly are fresh - they make them ready to order, and it is fun picking out your donut off their menu of options. The concept is fantastic and the donuts are beautiful. BUT in reality, I find the donuts somewhat dry, way too expensive and when they cool down, the taste can be disappointing. I have tried them here on Long Island and also in Northern Virginia and had the same experience with the flavor not living up to the beauty of the donut. I've never actually been to the shop in person before, I would only see these doughnuts at parties and events in their beauty. Not only are these doughnuts aesthetically pleasing, but they also melt in your mouth. I got to have a pumpkin doughnut at the place and man was it good. They come out warm and crisp, covered in everything you want, from vanilla glaze to apple pie filling, these doughnuts are perfect for everyone. The shop is decorated in what seems like hundreds of rubber ducks and for the cozy fall season. UGHHHH why did i find this place?! Its probably the best donuts i have ever had.... ever. The line was out the door but it goes very quick. It helps that an employee walks around with a picture menu so you know what you want in advance rather than holding up the line to determine what you want. The donuts are made fresh there on the spot. You get to choose what toppings/flavor you want. They also sell iced/hot coffees and other drinks. I also think i saw a sign for small breakfast sandwiches but i was here for only one reason.. DONUTS! You can purchase a single, half dozen, dozen or whatever your greedy heart desires (and i mean that in a good way cuz i sure wasn't sharing mine). So.. the donuts are great!! There's no question!! They are cacky (if that's a real word) & fresh!! I mean they pull them out of the fryer as you order.. With all that being said, they are warm. So the toppings have a tendency to run off the donut, leaving you scrapping it off the box. The cover of the box does come with vents, but I've learned to not put the cover on at all. You also can't buy them to take with you very far. If you take the box filled w donuts more than 30 min away, once you get there, the toppings will be off the donuts.. So how it works is that you pick your own toppings or pick from their "menu." Keep in mind, the menu looks like it has lots of options. It's a 2 page menu back & front. However, a lot of the options are duplicated in the menu. Like on the left, it'll say "s'mores" with the ingredients underneath.. On the right it'll have the same donut just w the ingredients, but no name... Despite all that I said, I'd still go back & order. read more

Came in here one day while they were "soft open" last month. It had a small crowd but nothing daunting. I wanted to get a box of a dozen donuts on my way in to the office to share them with my staff. I was greeted at the counter by a nice young lady who took my order. I asked what the best thing to order was and she pointed me to the menu where I saw the basic dozen donuts, so I picked that. So she rung up my order and there was a bit of sticker shock. These donuts are about $2 a pop. Also, this isn't like going into Dunkin Donuts, ordering a dozen donuts, and you're out the door in less that 3 minutes. My order here took exactly 18 minutes to complete. I timed it. Now I know part of it is because they are working out how to be efficient, but at the same time, it was also because my donuts were being made to order, and each topping was unique, so that takes time. I can't tell you which flavors were my favorite, but I ate more of those donuts than I intended to, and within about 15-20 mins of bringing them to my office, they were still warm, but they disappeared quickly. To be clear, they only make one kind of donut here, a fried cake donut, but what makes them unique are the toppings and flavorings. I'm glad there is an alternative to the same old donuts out there, grocery store donuts & Dunkin Donuts.....and Duck Donuts is it. When the lines die down, I'll BE BACK!! read more

I love the fact that they opened a donut spot like this around my area that isn't Dunkin Donuts. When I found out about this place, I wanted to try ASAP and let me tell you I was not disappointed. Got there early in the morning before work so it wasn't too crowded. When you walk in, they have a station with order forms which you can customized your donuts or order the featured donuts. I bought a dozen and it came out pretty fast. They make it fresh once your order is placed which I love and the price is reasonable you can't go wrong with that. There signature fried cake donuts come with an assortment of toppings, glazes and dustings that the customer can get. Truly a make it yourself donut place. I have no complaints, there's no where in town you can get anywhere close to this caliber of donuts, a truly superior donut establishment as I have said hitherto. Food: the donut texture is soft on the inside, with a light cakey texture to it. The glazes are great, but the strawberry and vanilla glazes are better then the chocolate.
