Duck Donuts has the best customizable doughnuts on Long Island. The doughnuts are fresh and cakey yet not overly greasy. They do an great job managing the oil and the airing process to make sure they are not greasy. The doughnuts are also on the lighter end of cakey doughnuts, so they are filling but one isn't going to make you feel lethargic. We waited on line for about 20 minutes during one of the opening weeks. The line was long but it moved at a reasonable pace and the doughnuts were ready within a minute or two after ordering. The work flow was fantastic. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Everyone seemed excited to be there. We tried the maple bacon doughnut, the blueberry pancake doughnut, the french toast doughnut, and a smores doughnut. I like the blueberry pancake one the most. read more

Each time I've been to Duck Donuts, the donuts have been fresh and delicious. They are a little pricey compared to other donuts on Long Island but I feel you are paying for the experience as well. My toddler thinks it's so cool to watch our donuts be prepared and enjoys visiting the store. They also sell cute little ducks the kids can take home and have many different styles. Make sure to try the Maple Bacon or peanut butter with raspberry drizzle. My personal favorite so far was the s'mores donut from their Summer menu. They also have delicious iced coffee and breakfast sandwiches ON DONUTS. I highly recommend an egg and cheese on a maple bacon donut. Not sure what happened. Maybe it was better when it first opened like many other establishments. It was great the first few times but the last time we went it was awful. The donuts were mushy and tasted like puréed baby food. And the toppings were definitely lacking in flavor and quality. They also do not enforce social distancing. You can choose from a list of duck donut creations or you can choose your own toppings. The line moves pretty quickly. I've been twice since the opening (opening day and national donut day). Once your order is put in you are able to watch your donuts come to life. There is a donut maker where you can see the donuts being made fresh, as well as watch your donuts being assembled with the toppings of your choosing. They are soft, warm, and absolutely delicious! They also have coffee, which in my opinion go very well with the cinnamon donut (or any donut really), and breakfast sandwiches. In short, make your way over to try a donut. This is an amazing place, in an amazing corner of town. The donuts here are amazing. Of course it all depends on what you like, and honestly, I have loved almost everything that I have gotten here. My favorite has to be the strawberry glaze with what ever topping I want. I get rainbow sprinkles because I am just that guy. Their strawberry glaze is just straight up delicious. Delectable strawberry sweetness on top of a donut that is full bodied, fluffy, soft, and savory. All in one package. Straight up it is hard to explain how much of a texture trip this is until you have tried it. Their donuts without the toppings are just to die for. The made to order aspect of this works perfectly. Wish that I had taken some pics but the eats that I sat down to gobble at this very fun establishment did not last long! The second my butt landed on the chair to enjoy the delightfully tasting doughnut (nothing too crazy; just a glazed treat with a salted-caramel drizzle) I couldn't wait to dig right into it -- yum!!! The recipe reminded me of the Entiments doughnuts if they were (today) as good as the originals had been (i.e., before the company was bought out and their products turned to utter crud). Except, even still, these were vastly superior!! Therefore, what I mean by this comment is that the doughnuts had a cake-like quality to them that I had not been expecting (that was what kind of reminded me of Entiments). I guess that, for lack of more easily accessible varieties, Dunking Doughnuts is that to which I'm more accustomed and, thus, what I've come to expect. Hence, I can declare that this was something other and the topping options were just remarkable! You can see your doughnut being made right before your eyes, and when you grab it, the sugary wonder comes out hot! You've got to eat it THERE and on the spot (in my opinion), though they do say that you can just go home and heat them up for a few seconds in the microwave -- blasphemy! Yes... you could take them with you. And, what's awesome, their boxes are environmentally friendly (I mind those details). But, frankly, I feel as though myself and my fam enjoyed the brief escape on a Sunday morning to catch ourselves a treat and stick around for a moment! And with staff as polite as those folks were that day, why not? We each ate one, then basked right after in that sweet diabetic-prone glory that manifests like a bright aura around a being glowing with delight, then unglued ourselves from that sugary daydream and went back home happy. Finally tried Duck Donuts for the first time over the weekend. I have been wanting to try their donuts for a while now. My best friend is obsessed with donuts so I came to buy a gift card for her birthday. After walking in and smelling how incredible the donuts smell, I HAD to try them (and I'm glad I did). The donuts are warm and soft and melt in your mouth delicious. Due to the freshness/heat from the donut, the icing melts making you have to eat the donut fast.
