I went to duck donuts on an early Friday and was greeted upon arrival by the two sweetest ladies. They asked if I had been there before and immediately started getting me the run down on how everything worked. The place was so stinking cute. Very open and inviting so I love being in the space while waiting for my donuts. They had deals which is so cool because sometimes you're not feeling a dozen; sometimes you just need a coffee and a donut and they offer that at a good deal. My donuts were so goooood!! I ordered online the night before HUGE mistake. When walking in no one greeted me and there was no signage for online orders and no one at register. I stood for 10 minutes and finally asked if they had my online order. They could not find it. The manager had no idea how to look for it so she took a screenshot of my order from my phone. An hour after walking into the shop my donuts were ready. They had been sitting behind the counter the entire time, yet the order was wrong, so the had to make more donuts to fix the mistake. The employees walk around like they have no idea what they are doing. The manager had no urgency to finish one task, instead she would keep starting a new task which is why my order was never found or made. She tried to make it better by giving me a free dozen next time, but I do not live nearby so I can't imagine I will be back. The box says "warm and delicious" but mine sat on the counter for almost an hour so they were cold and chewy. I was not impressed with service or product. read more

I love the donuts here! They are the perfect size, not so big that you feel sick after eating a whole one. They have lots of fun new flavors seasonally, and they are made fresh! The employees have always been very helpful and friendly any time I've been. My only complaint is that they recently shortened their hours to not open till 7 am, and so I can no longer pick up a dozen on my way to work in the morning. But I do understand they were having trouble I guess finding people to work all the hours. read more

I'm so excited for this to open here on the Missouri side. Had to wake up my bf so we can get there early to try their donuts. Let me just tell you, it's so good when it is fresh, they dipped the flavor you want and then add extra if you wanted. I tried their savory donut with egg and the asked if I wanted any maple and bacon bits. Nope, it was perfect just plain with a hint of sweetness and savory from the egg. We also got the blueberry and powdered sugar. So delicious for cake donuts. Light, soft, fluffy and tasty. Definitely not your typical donut shop. Service was impeccable and clean space. Duck Donuts' "thing" is serving made to order cake donuts - right out of the fryer, still warm and customized with your choice of frosting and/or topping. I can go for that, but a few things left me less than impressed... First - the pricing. At $2.75 each I had a bit of sticker shock when my wife and I's donuts were over $6 with tax. I remember a time in my life that $6 would buy 2 dozen donuts... but I digress and now I am just showing my age...back to my point... Donut King and Fresh Donuts - (the 2 best in the Northland) are more than a dollar cheaper per donut! Secondly - They are messy. Coming straight out of the fryer and being dipped into icing leaves the donut oozing and dripping warm icing. This is something that a simple napkin won't solve. This kind of mess needs hot water to get off your hands - do not attempt to drive while eating; in fact stay put, get a fork and consume immediately on the premises for the full effect or take home and allow to cool and stabilize. Thirdly - Selection. While there are dozens of possible toppings/icing flavors and combinations of... where are my glazed, Old Fashioneds, long johns, cronuts, apple fritters... When I go to a donut shop; cake donuts are only about 30% of my usual picks. I'm sort of glad that Duck Donuts didn't blow me away since who needs that kind of addiction 3 blocks from my house! PS. The bacon on my Maple Bacon was leathery. My wife said her Beach donut with Vanilla icing and Cinnamon Sugar was incredible and said they deserve 5 stars... You can believe me or her... read more

I can't wait to try this place again. The first time I tried them, a friend offered me their oreo donut...amazing. It was so good I had to order a few different flavors: bacon in the sun, s'mores, and the oreo donut again lol. All 3 were worth the price. They are freshly made when you place your order. Definitely a great treat for the office party or for yourself. The customer service was great. The place was well kept and clean. There's also some nice merch available while you wait for your order. 5 donuts: Glazed Delight w/Twix and PB Paradise were both fresh and delicious. The flavor, texture and warm temperature of the cake-like donut was perfect. Exceeded my expectation. 4 ambiance: The donut shop is cute and quaint; however, the marketing merchandise in the middle unnecessarily takes up space. I was in line to the left of it but others behind me got in line on the right. I didn't notice until after I was waiting in line that there was a self-service ordering kiosk (I would have used it). An extra kiosk where the pick-up area is might help. 3 service: There were 3 noticeable employees working on a Saturday afternoon. Everyone was very nice but slow. There was a bit of a wait to place my order because the cashier was also making coffee drinks. The two guys making donuts were slammed with some large orders but I noticed they didn't make the donuts consistently. I had to ask for more Twix topping on my donut because I initially just got a few crumbs. Another thing that "looked" gross was how they had to stir the coagulated glazes to top the donuts. I think that to would have been helpful if the cashier would have assisted with making donuts when she wasn't busy taking orders. I received an apology for the wait once I finally received my order. After hearing about this place and seeing photos of the donuts online I fully expected this to be a 5 star review. First, I want to say that the employees are friendly and helpful. It's fun to watch the care the employees put into making each donut and insuring the accuracy of each donuts toppings. It's a slow process but that's to be expected due to the "made to order" service they provide. I signed up for their text notifications and got a text about their new cotton candy donuts and milkshakes. I was immediately sold! I stopped by this morning and they were pretty busy. They were cranking out dozens of donuts. I ordered a cotton candy milkshake and a cotton candy doughnut to go. When I got in my car, I noticed that the milkshake seem to be quite runny, not thick like you expect when getting a milkshake. I thought possibly it just needed to be stirred some, but that was not the case. I stirred it up and took a few sips on the way home and while the flavor was really nice and super sweet the fact that it wasn't at all thick kind of turned me off. When I got home, I put it in the freezer to thicken it up. Hopefully, it will be better after spending an hour or so in the freezer. The donut was very good, super fresh and had plenty of icing. The four stars are for the service and friendliness of the employees. The donut was good and fresh, but not great. The milkshake being super runny definitely took away one star because the ratio of milk to ice cream was way off. A little less milk, and a little more ice cream, and it would have been perfect. I understand that it's a new business and it takes time to get things right. I'll give it a couple months and try again. Fingers crossed that my next milkshake is actually thick. read more
