I ordered online the night before HUGE mistake. When walking in no one greeted me and there was no signage for online orders and no one at register. I stood for 10 minutes and finally asked if they had my online order. They could not find it. The manager had no idea how to look for it so she took a screenshot of my order from my phone. An hour after walking into the shop my donuts were ready. They had been sitting behind the counter the entire time, yet the order was wrong, so the had to make more donuts to fix the mistake. The employees walk around like they have no idea what they are doing. The manager had no urgency to finish one task, instead she would keep starting a new task which is why my order was never found or made. She tried to make it better by giving me a free dozen next time, but I do not live nearby so I can't imagine I will be back. The box says "warm and delicious" but mine sat on the counter for almost an hour so they were cold and chewy. I was not impressed with service or product.

No donuts in cases here. All are made fresh to order. The design is simple. Order the topping combination of a crispy cake donut you want. Wait for a while. Hot fresh donuts waiting for you at the counter. These would be a challenge to eat on the go. The wait is worth it as well. I will come back to try the other donut combinations.

Went in this morning for the first time to get donuts for work, hoping they had maybe one or two Halloween themed ones, they had a whole dozen of spooky themed donuts and they were still warm when I get to work. Everyone said they were delicious! The workers were also very nice

These are good cake-style donuts. I'm here for the maple bacon!!! Don't diss it until you try it! You can order via an automated machine or the line goes very quickly. They check to make sure your order looks good. You can sit in the little shop or take them to go. It is a cute little place. :)

I'm so excited for this to open here on the Missouri side. Had to wake up my bf so we can get there early to try their donuts. Let me just tell you, it's so good when it is fresh, they dipped the flavor you want and then add extra if you wanted. I tried their savory donut with egg and the asked if I wanted any maple and bacon bits. Nope, it was perfect just plain with a hint of sweetness and savory from the egg. We also got the blueberry and powdered sugar. So delicious for cake donuts. Light, soft, fluffy and tasty. Definitely not your typical donut shop. Service was impeccable and clean space. Will come back for sure in the near future.

Duck Donuts' "thing" is serving made to order cake donuts - right out of the fryer, still warm and customized with your choice of frosting and/or topping. I can go for that, but a few things left me less than impressed... First - the pricing. At $2.75 each I had a bit of sticker shock when my wife and I's donuts were over $6 with tax. I remember a time in my life that $6 would buy 2 dozen donuts... but I digress and now I am just showing my age...back to my point... Donut King and Fresh Donuts - (the 2 best in the Northland) are more than a dollar cheaper per donut! Secondly - They are messy. Coming straight out of the fryer and being dipped into icing leaves the donut oozing and dripping warm icing. This is something that a simple napkin won't solve. This kind of mess needs hot water to get off your hands - do not attempt to drive while eating; in fact stay put, get a fork and consume immediately on the premises for the full effect or take home and allow to cool and stabilize. Thirdly - Selection. While there are dozens of possible toppings/icing flavors and combinations of... where are my glazed, Old Fashioneds, long johns, cronuts, apple fritters... When I go to a donut shop; cake donuts are only about 30% of my usual picks. I'm sort of glad that Duck Donuts didn't blow me away since who needs that kind of addiction 3 blocks from my house! PS. The bacon on my Maple Bacon was leathery. My wife said her Beach donut with Vanilla icing and Cinnamon Sugar was incredible and said they deserve 5 stars... You can believe me or her...

    Pure satisfaction

Yummy! Highly recommend. Made fresh when you order! Can beat that kind of freshness. Lots of variety

Bay Boy is THAT Boy! I'm thrilled to have another location of Bay Boy in the Northland, which is…read moresuch an up and coming neighborhood. This Bay Boy is a small window located inside The Commons which is connected to Cinderblock Brewery but, don't be fooled by its small stature it still carries the full menu of the West Plaza location. The one thing it boasts is you can grab a brew from with The Commons bar or from Cinderblock while your sandwich is crafted. And don't fret because these sandwiches are well worth any wait they may take! What makes Bay Boy utterly unforgettable is the Dutch crunch bread. This unique crackly slightly crunchy but still, oh so pillowy soft bread is the perfect vessel to hold all the fillings of any of the sandwiches on the extensive menu. My number one recommendation sadly is not always on the menu but if you catch it you better order it! It is called The Blue Blaze and it consists of juicy white meat turkey, peppery arugula, melty mild white cheddar and locally sourced spicy blueberry jam. It's the perfect combination of sweet and savory with a kick. Another winner is the Wagyu Nebraskan if you want a bougie take on a Rueben. The Wagyu corned beef is locally sourced and is melt in your mouth paired with a slightly sweet kraut, nutty Swiss cheese and the tangy thousand island this sandwich is an elevated take on a classic. Another winner, well let's just face it any sandwich at Bay Boy is a winner winner chicken dinner (in the words of the iconic Guy Fieri), but let's focus on another rift of a classic sandwich the El Jefe. This is Bay Boy's take on a Cubano but unlike its predecessor the bread isn't flat or pressed it's on a Dutch crunch roll like every sandwich on the menu. The mojo pork is buttery and fatty- in a good way- making the meat so moist that combined with salty ham, melted Swiss and zingy briny pickles makes for a killer combination. Don't forget the mustard! And how Bay Boy makes it there own is with an addition of a zesty vibrant red pepper sauce. You can't help but to love El Jefe. I could go on and on about how each sandwich is unparalleled but, I'll just bore you with one more...The Bay Boy, I couldn't cover Bay Boy's without mentioning the sandwich that the restaurant was named after (or was it the other way around) anyways it doesn't matter. The Bay Boy is a cold sandwich (unlike the other ones I mentioned which are all toasty) which may sound simple but, the medley of flavors is paired down perfection. No pile of meats just stand alone Soppressata which shouldn't need any introduction because it's the superior salami. This sandwich gets sauced down with not one, not two but four sauces that make the sandwich anything but dry. Classic mayo and mustard are alongside a creamy pungent garlic sauce and a red pepper sauce, which is a mix of cherry and banana peppers. Then produce is added for freshness, think lettuce, tomato and zippy raw red onions (my personal favorite) with pickles of course! This truly is a sandwich masterpiece.

Finally made it over to Bay Boy in North Kansas City inside the Commons and yeah... I get why…read morepeople keep talking about it. It's a walk-up window, super lowkey, but the food is not playing. I got a turkey sandwich with gouda and peppers, added blueberry jam, and grabbed a bag of chips on the side. The bread is really what sets it off. Crunchy on the outside, soft in the middle, and it actually holds everything together. The turkey and gouda were solid, peppers gave it a little bite, and that blueberry jam added just enough sweetness to balance everything out without being weird about it. I paused after the first bite because it caught me off guard in a good way. Finished the whole thing, chips and all. Simple setup, really good food, and I'll absolutely be back.

I ordered a $4 "mystery beer" and received the best bargain of the week -a 20 oz can of Kolsch from Grandview's Transparent Brewery. I then had a perfect little margarita. Staff - I interacted with 2 bartenders - one was above average, and the main one was nailing the customer service! Pleasant, informational and proud of his workspace and product line. Activities - EVERY type of old school bar game is here - pool, foosball, air hockey, shuffleboard, cornhole, pop-a-shot, darts, skeeball, and plenty of tabletop games...and they are all free! With a nod to the National Parks in decor and actually donating a small part of the profits to assist our nation's treasures in this new era of asinine budget cuts and selling off of public lands - I'm proud to support local, have fun and assist the cause. Our group of 5 had a blast. Five stars on every single measurable category.
