I like the wines here, I've tried a few of the reds and am consistently pleased with my orders. I'm not a wine snob, so take my unrefined palate with a huge grain of salt. We all did a tasting and really enjoyed our drinks--each pour had its own unique flavor, and the staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The outdoor setting is absolutely breathtaking, with beautiful vineyard views that make for a relaxing afternoon. However, one downside we noticed was that nearly every chair outside had bird droppings on them. It didn't seem like they were regularly cleaned, which took away from the otherwise stunning setting. On the bright side, the indoor space is just as welcoming-and even better, dogs are allowed inside! My husband and I always have a wonderful time here! They offer a great selection of wines, especially white wines, which I personally prefer. My husband is more into reds, and it's often hard to find a place that caters well to both -- but this place does a fantastic job with both selections. If you plan to visit, I highly recommend trying the boysenberry wine -- it's fantastic! The atmosphere is cozy and the overall vibe is great. My boyfriend and I have recently gotten into wine. My parents treated us to Duck Walk for the afternoon. We each had a sampling and each wine was quite delicious! The vineyard itself is nice and clean and staff is friendly. You are able to bring your own food/snacks. They do have cheese and crackers for sale if you don't bring your own or if you get hungry. I came here as part of a north fork vineyard tour. This was the second stop and there were a few things that made it different from the others. I really enjoyed the wine but the presentation of it took away from the experience. We had the wine in plastic cups, which was a bit odd. The vineyard was beautiful and there was a ton of space to roam around. They had live music but it got drowned out by the other sounds. Tip; this place lets you bring outside food! Duck Walk Vineyards is a craft winery that opened in Water Mill, New York in 1994. It was founded by Dr. Herodotus "Dan" Damianos and his son Alexander. The elder Damianos was a medical doctor who was considered one of the pioneers of the Long Island wine industry. He purchased 36 acres of land in the North Fork in 1979. The following year he planted his first Chardonnay vines and named the winery Pindar Vineyards after his youngest son. Today the North Fork is home to more than 40 wineries and 3,000 acres of planted vineyards. Some of the grape varietals found in the area include Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Franc. Pindar is now the largest winery in Long Island, producing nearly 60,000 cases of wine per year. In the mid '90s, Damianos acquired a duck farm in the Hamptons and turned it into a winery dubbed "Duck Walk". A second Duck Walk location, surrounded by 30 beautiful acres of Sauvignon Blanc grapes, opened in the North Fork in 2007. Damianos passed away in 2014. His 600 acres of vineyard property are still maintained by his children and grandchildren. My wife and I visited the North Fork location of Duck Walk Vineyards in October 2018. We were celebrating our first wedding anniversary on Long Island with a private limousine tour of the North Fork Wine Trail. Duck Walk was our third stop of the day. The tasting room and the grounds were both beautiful! We sampled some wines that included their Cabernet Sauvignon and Rosé. We had fun exploring the grounds afterwards. Everything was delicious and we purchased a couple of bottles to take home, including their Blueberry Port. Out of the three wineries we visited that day, Duck Walk was our favorite! Sad this place has three stars but I get it. When you walk into the tasting room- you need music. It's quiet, I get it but needs something. We had a scheduled tasting and what I loved most is how personalized you can make it! You get a plate and four drinks. My favorite was the rose and desert wines. I left it up to our server to pick after hearing what I liked and he nailed it!! They do have food that you can buy- which HIGHLY recommend. Then you can go outside if you want and find a spot to sit. On a nice day- GET THERE EARLY. There is seating with shade and most seats do have umbrellas. You can take photos between the vineyards. I'll be honest I'm more of a California Wine fan, but I will say their Southampton White was light and crisp and made for a perfect sip on a super hot day. The tasting room is large and airy with some tables that are perfect to enjoy lunch. There are also some tables outside with lovely views of the vineyard. My husband and I decided to celebrate Valentine's Day with having dinner at the vineyard. The dinner was truly amazing. I loved that it was prefixed and it included wine with every course. The ingredients were fresh and full of flavor. We enjoyed listening to one of the owners go over with each course why they selected to pair the wine they chose. The wine was delicious as well, which really brought out the flavors of the dishes. I applaud the chef and the staff because the food is something I'll talk about for years. Just a quick disclosure of my review. I came he as part of a wine tour, which I would not recommend but that has nothing to do with Duck walk. So on to the meat and potatoes of this thing. Arriving at Duck Walk is beautiful. You step into what feels like a huge beautifully architect barn. Open huge trusses above your head with light wood accents and dark metal lighting It's truly breath taking. Walking into this not so packed, due to COVID regulations, barn, you are assigned a bar to go look through the menu and choose your wine tastings. Again I don't know if this is normal operation but due to COVID and being part of a winery tour here we are. All orders get written down on paper plates and re distributed when ready and you go outside onto the grass of this beautiful winery. Music plays through the tables with umbrella and through the coveted area. Plenty of room and seats for large and small parties alike. The live music is a wonderful accent to the delicious wines you are about to taste. There was well over 25 different types of wines. Ranging from white, red, blushes, dessert and more. The wine and the music hit spot. After about 90 minutes our driver was ready for us to leave but if I came back solo I could spend a few hours here alone. read more

No reservation required, it's got a super huge tasting room and an even bigger and more beautiful out door area for hanging out. Highly advise that you bring your own picnic food as they don't have an extensive snacking section to purchase from. And you might want to pack a blanket for sitting in the event when you get there its too packed to sit in the seats provided. 12$ for little cups of sampling - but I'm a light weight so sipping these and then buying a 20$ to share with friends was more than enough for me. read more

The view out back was beautiful. I was very disappointed with the mustard cups we were given to sample our wine. I saw the small plastic cups that I would have preferred. We were the only ones in there on a Tuesday around 11:30 and the woman helping us wasn't that friendly. Very rude, disorganized staff. If you look at Google reviews it seems this is a common complaint... I had my 30th bday party there yesterday, May 15th. There were a few problems: 1. Even tho I made a resveration well in advance, when we arrived we had to wait outside for 20 min. There were about 10 ppl in front of us who told me they didn't even have a resv, and they got in before we did. I asked the man at the door about this, and he told me "it doesnt matter if you have a party/resv, everyone has to wait online". Very frustrating bc we were on a specific time schedule with our limo so this wasted the already short time we had. 2. I made the resv for 13 ppl 3 weeks ago. When I made the resv I spoke directly to the owner (Alex). He was a bit vague on the phone about how a resv worked - some vineyards charge u for a resv, and I wanted to make sure that Duckwalk wasn't one of them, otherwise I'd go elsewhere. During our convo, I must have confirmed at least 3 or 4 times with Alex that there was NO mandatory tasting for a resv, and he said "well we encourage everyone in ur limo to do a tasting when u arrive", and I specifically asked "is it mandatory tho? Bc a lot of us would rather just buy a glass or some bottles bc we've been to your vineyard already, so we know what we like etc". He told me verbatim, "no it's not mandatory, but we always encourage everyone to do a tasting." That was that. Fast forward to yesterday, I finally get to door and I'm told I have to pay for all 13 ppl to get a tasting before I can enter. I said whoa wait that's not what Alex told me, he said it was enocuraged but not mandatory. I asked to speak with Alex inside, and I did, and he was very short and rude. He told me "I'm the owner and I would never say that. It's always mandatory for a limo resv that you do a tasting before entering." Absolutely not what he told me during our convo 3 weeks ago. So I had to charge $200 for tastings on my card (they wouldn't even let us pay separately). The fact I had to buy the tastings was w.e, I think the part that bothered me so much was the owners blatant lie that it's always mandatory and he never told me otherwise. 3. As if the first 2 issues weren't frustrating enough, after paying, a woman led us to a bar to do our tastings and the bartender man took 20 min to even come over and greet us. Then it took about 15-20 min to serve everyone... So we arrived at 230, spent 20 min outside, and another 20 min waiting to be served, then 20 min to be served the wine... By the time we got our tastings it was almost 4 o'clock and we had to be back at the limo at 4:45. I've been to this vineyard many times and I always liked it. I was so excited to celebrate there and have fun with my friends, and just enjoy my birthday. Sadly the staff at Duckwalk really made it hard for me to do that. In contrast, we had went to Pindar before here, and they were awesome and we had NO issues at all... I would suggest going to a different vineyard for any parties/events. The owner may try to say he told me this or that, but I know what I was told and I don't appreciate being lied to. read more

The wine options were decent, however the samples were small and not very well displayed (just small plastic shot glasses on a paper plate). The wines I did try were decent, though many were a bit too sweet for my liking. I did not try any food but I saw they had some snacking available. I'll preface this by saying that we enjoy the wine at Duckwalk but the "vineyard" experience has turned into what can only be described as "college bar vineyard" experience. We have been coming here for years. We had our wedding here 6 years ago (a beautiful and memorable experience) and have watched its steadily decline devolve into what came to be a complete transition from everything one would want in a winery to an obnoxious college bar. We stopped by today to celebrate our anniversary as we have done every year. We were greeted by a disheveled looking person with the word SECURITY emblazoned on his dirty, wrinkled polo shirt; "Please wait at the cash register" we were told as he ushered us in the building. I walked in, looked around the room and saw a sea of 20 something's, half of them dressed as though they were at a cheap night club, and all of them screeching at the top of their lungs. "You need to stand right there" the security guy sternly repeated as apparently I had strayed more than the allowable 4 feet from the cash register.... Very irritating. We asked for a couple of bottles to go and Alex, the owner, walked over and asked us if we wanted them opened because clearly we were there to smash down a bottle each like everyone else! I motioned to the hall full of "children" and told him that this wasn't our scene and we'd take the wine to go. Before we left we took a look in at the beautiful back patio that overlooks the vines....more of the same but with the ambiance enhancing touch of a noticible amount of trash on the ground. The entire place was just gross. It was cringeworthy and Duckwalk (North) ownership should be utterly embarrassed. Sadly, they and not based in the fact that not only have they have let this happen, they have actively encouraged it. Anything for a buck I guess. If you want to relax and enjoy good wine and a vineyard experience get the wine to go, but even that experience is likely to be pretty negative until you get the wine home. But if you want a vineyard that feels like it's being run by a bunch of frat house 20 something's with Daddys credit card then have at it at Duckwalk (North)....The Boardy Barn of Vineyards! read more

I'd give this place 100 stars if I could. What a wonderful vineyard, aesthetically lovely. Duckwalk boasts delectable wines, out door seating, live music and reasonably priced tastings and bottles. We woke up to rain, so the beach was out (or so we thought.) We'd heard good things about Duck Walk and Yelp confirmed them (thanks, Yelp!) $6 gets you a glass of their house white - a dry white with fruity notes but NOT sweet. The line of tastings wasn't much more. The customer service was on point. They even offered a free tasting of their cab sauv reserve. We sat outside and absorbed the live guitar player/singer and beautiful day (the rain stopped as soon as we arrived and the sun came out. Pete smoked a cigar. My friend and I went on a wine tour to Long Island North Fork that included about 4 to 5 different wineries for the day. Duck walk vineyards was on the wineries we visited and it was cool. The vineyard wasn't too crowded and we were able to enjoy the grounds without bumping into other people. The weather was beautiful so we were able to enjoy the small outdoor seating area. We also walked around outside and took some pictures in the vineyards which was cool. The staff were cool, welcoming and answered people's questions without rushing. Since we were part of a tour we had a choice of wines we could sample. The wine tasting area was smaller than some of the other wineries we visited but still cozy and not suffocating. Duck Walk had a very lively vibe and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. They also have an area outside where you can eat lunch at the picnic tables. They also had live music for additional entertainment. This is another winery that's cool to visit. read more

We never got the chance to try their selected trial wine thus purchased trademark wines based on our judgement . The room is huge, clean. Small cafe is open for those interested to buy sandwiches, crackers etc. There is a small store for souvenir items, mementos and of course their wines. They offer lots of other things comparable to other vineyards Id been to. I love their vineyard. Wide. Maintained . Big space for picnickers . In their patio are tables with umbrellas that you could sit in to dine . Free music is available during our visit time. Ambiance is so peaceful. Parking security is very tight . Pretty large winery with a nice selection. Came here with a group of people on a wine tour with elegant limousines. Elegant limos was pretty terrible but this winery was pretty good. Their wines were pretty good, the malbac and merlot reserve being my favorite. Place was packed and their bartenders were definitely over worked. Could have used a few more bartenders as it took on average 15 min to get a new drink. The grounds were nice and open. Plenty of spots to relax at or take pictures. read more

Stopped here while on a wine tour with a friend. I loved there tasting set up because it was fairly smallbut the winery itself is a huge spacious hall. They didn't seem to have as many wines as the other wineries but I loved their windmill blush. They also offered chocolates with their blueberry port dessert wine which I believe they realize helps the taste. I generally love dessert wines but this was not a good one. The staff seemed to be very knowledgeable about their wines and they were very helpful to customers choosing a wine to taste. However, a long visit here is hard because they offer no food for sale to accompany your wine besides chips. In the back there are seating areas where u can view their vast vineyard which seemed to go on for miles. Review #2 in a trio of vineyards visited on yesterday's wine tour with some friends. I was previously at Duck Walk for a different wine tour and have also visited their south fork location so I somewhat knew what to expect (which was good stuff) Enter and you'll be greeted by a large tasting room with high ceilings strung with white lights (as well as a fish tank) and filled with a lot of bustle on a Saturday afternoon. There's plenty of room to sit outside and you can just about venture into the grape vines, though the heat basically kept us inwards. Four little raffle-like tickets are given to each person for our tastings. I went with a couple of the Windmill editions (Blush and White) as well as a Riesling and Chardonnay to round out my four. Each wine was relatively light and crisp with just enough flavor without being too dry or bitter. If you're looking for a review about their redder wines, look elsewhere (sorry). Overall, Duck Walk is a vineyard that does the trick for a quality winery along Long Island's Wine Country. read more

Had a reservation for a group of 10 on a rainy day at their Water Mill location. When there wasn't any seating for our group, they opened up another area for us! We were able to bring in some of our own snacks to pair with the wines. All of the employees were warm and very knowledgeable! A good mix of wines for all preferences and reasonably twined! Not being a wine person, I came with a group of friends. We called them before we headed out (11am when they open) and was told that they were expecting about 100 people at noon so we either get there within 30 minutes or should go after 1:30pm. It was the best advice! When we arrived at around 2pm, the place was empty. We were the only group at the bar for tasting for about 5 minutes before a couple came. I cannot comment on the wine because I am not sophisticated but from all my friends and other people who knows Duck Walk, they tell me it's great. The great thing about this vineyard is that it is right next to the Parrish Art Museum. If you are in the Hamptons and want to do a few things right in the same area, you can't choose better than hitting the museum, then stopping by this beautiful location for a wine tasting. Came here as one of the stops on a wine tour and I must say, this was definitely my absolute favorite. So much so, that I plan on coming back with a few friends just to spend the day drinking delicious wines and taking in the great views! A rustic feel with a beautiful view of the vineyard, you already can't go wrong. Throw in some amazing wine and a great staff who clearly loves what they do and believes in the product, you're in for a great experience. It was a little busy with a full bus load of people doing a tasting, in addition to a few other parties, but they were able to handle all the parties and everyone was happy. A big plus is that they let you bring in your own food, so definitely prepare because with all the drinking you're going to need it! I loved every wine I tried and couldn't get enough of it. I got a bottle to go and had a bottle to drink before our group had to leave. It's close enough that you don't have to go deep into Long Island but far enough that it'll still feel like a great day trip.
