A group of us stopped at Corey Creek Tap Room as one of the stops on a pedal-powered wine tour of the North Fork. We were only there for about an hour, but it was easy to see why it's such a popular stop. The setting is exactly what you're hoping for at a North Fork winery--plenty of outdoor space, beautiful vineyard views, and a relaxed atmosphere that's perfect for enjoying a summer afternoon with friends. We shared one of the giant pretzels along with the stuffed grape leaves, both of which disappeared quickly. We also tried the wine frosés, which were cold, refreshing, and perfect for a hot day. They were a bit on the sweet side, though. One was just about right for me; I think a second would have been a little too much. The only reason I'm stopping at four stars instead of five is the staffing. We visited on a busy Saturday, and while everyone working was friendly and working hard, there simply weren't enough people to keep up with the crowd. That's on management, not the staff, who did a great job under the circumstances. One funny discovery: there was a local seafood truck from Bauman's parked on-site, but we didn't notice it until after we'd already polished off the pretzels and grape leaves. Next time. If you're exploring the North Fork wine trail with friends, Corey Creek is a fun stop and one I'd happily visit again. Just don't be surprised if service is a little slower during peak weekend hours. Corey Creek for sure is a hidden gem on Long Island! At first glance, this unassuming house hidden in the trees doesn't seem like much, but once you're inside it's a completely different story. The inside has such an inviting feel and the woman who served us was very friendly and knowledgeable. They have a quaint outside space for tasting/eating but it certainly delights! The back patio is so beautiful. It feels like a hidden oasis among the trees and the entire space feels very private. After having a bad experience at a different winery, we decided to call Corey Creek and asked if they had room for 8. They do walk ins only. He said they had a few shady spots outside, and plenty of room inside. When we walked in, I was pleasantly surprised how instant the good vibes were. They had an amazing steel drum player that felt like I was on vacation. We sat inside and ordered at the bar which was very easy. We were told that most of their wines are dry, which I do like. The highlight was the frozé which is frozen sauvignon blanc topped with some type of red. I never had anything like it. It tasted so good! Nice little vineyard/tap room in the North Fork of Long Island. Very casual and affordable. The tap room offers I believe 7-8 wines. From what I recall, they had 2 reds, 3 roses, and 2-3 whites. Staff was polite and let me try the two reds before deciding what I wanted to drink. The petite verdot was my choice. Very light and refreshing. Tasted better as it sat in the glass. Never at a winery have I experienced small kids running around yelling while the parents blasted music from their phone while talking loudly at their kids. Other kids playing catch with a football IN the vineyard are that no one was supposed to be in. It would be nice if they sectioned off one side for kids. Made a day out easy with family to check out some wineries for a birthday. Tried making a reservation for dinner here around 6pm but we were told we need to be gone by 7pm!? First time I've been pushed before I walked in... Decided to stop in for a peak since the birthday girl insisted. Considering this is the Wine Country of Long Island and we're drinking their wine straight from their taps, I'm still confused how a simple glass of wine is $12. We also drove passed the Greenport Brewery, which I wanted to go to. I was pleased to see they have Greenport Beer here but a 10oz glass was $10.... IDK who makes prices out here, understanding every business makes a profit but COME ON! These wineries aren't a few far in between, they're everywhere now. Sister vineyard of Bedell at only a fraction of the size. This vineyard strays from being like the many other wine tasting assembly lines. The inside wine tasting area, is a small L-shaped bar, capable of only serving approximately 20 customers at a time. For others, you'll either have to wait or grab a couple bottles and sit at a table on the rear balcony and listen to live music. There is additional seating in the front, two square picnic tables seating about 4-6 each; and several picnic tables spread across the ground (grass) level. During my last visit here, our group picked up a couple bottles and a plate of cheese/salami/pepperoni/olives. The salami was dried and cured perfectly, and one of the cheeses had some serious heat. Yum!! But I'm sure most don't come here for the snack plates. The wines are decent, my favorite being the 2007 Gewurztraminer. There is one unisex bathroom situated adjacent to the wine tasting area, which could use some maintaining as it can get a bit messy. And don't forget to lock the door with the latch because the door handle lock does not work. I've had a little mishap where a stranger walked in while I was going #1. read more

There's an obvious differential between midweek and the weekend crowd flow. You can actually clam a table, sit back and soak in the vineyard views. Corey Creek reminds me of a spacious, open floor plan home--with ONE large room serving as the tasting room. Space is not limited as there's ample seating on the front porch, a deck with overhead pergola and lawn seating. The flight tasting is 5/$15 which includes two whites, two reds and one rose. Outside food is allowed on the premise but not in the tasting room so unfortunately, you cannot nosh and compare notes. If I'm not mistaken, 2013 was a good year for the East coast and their Malbec sold out at Bedell. read more

Yelp, can I report false advertising? Wine from the tap, the number of selections could be counted on one hand, and no tasting options. You can however get a 3 flight option, try their over priced snacks, and take lovely photos of the vineyard. I wished I skipped on this visit, the wine variety were limited in choice, complexity, presentation, and most importantly quality. I would recommend you to keep on walking to the next stop on the wine trial, until Corey can get it together this Tap Room needs to tap out of the wine game. Harsh? I worked here for a summer and when I graduated high school we had a glorious picnic celebration here. It's just that kind of place, a dreamy Euro-vision way to pass a summer afternoon. Two wines I've followed from Corey Creek for a long time are their Cabernet Franc and their Gewurztraminer - unique varietals for Long Island. I'm not sure what the set up is like now, but before Corey Creek was basically the white wine label for Beddel Cellars and Bedell was the label for reds. Together they comprise one of the best wine institutions in the region. It doesn't hurt that both the Bedell and Corey Creek tasting rooms have outdoor sections that are drop-dead gorgeous in the summertime. read more

I e been coming here for years and am surprised at the poor review. This vinyard offers awsome views of the vineyard. They are affiliated with Bedell so they have the same wine. Today they even had a food truck, which had the best lobster rubens! Cons: wines by the glass are on tap. The wine is good so it doesn't bother me. Wine is chilled s little more than I'd like but I can make do. The venue is what makes this place. There is also no food. They do have iPhone charges (lol) Overall in nice weather the venue makes this place worth it. Get a bottle and relax outside, you will not be disappointed. read more

Cool concept, this was the winery I was most interested in visiting on our trip. It's a nice property and there are plenty of spots to sit. I dig the wines from the tap but the wine was a little underwhelming (I got a bottle of the cab franc). The froze was a super cool idea but it annoyed me that they up-charge for the floater of wine. The bouncer was a bit rude when it came to enforcing the rules on some guests (granted...it's clearly marked not to go into the vine rows). Just some small things here and there that add up to me, I'm not sure I would recommend it. read more

Went there last nice and what a lovely setting! We went for the tues and Thursday twilight series from5-9pm, and live music. There is some indoor seating but no one is there. Outside seating on the deck overlooking vineyard with overhead beautiful string lighting. Also picnic tables and Adirondack chairs on the lawn. Corn hole games. Wine is from Bedell cellars and everything is on tap. They have a few things you cannot get at the winery and they put it in a growler if you want a bottle. There is also a frozen grape juice /non Alcoholic available. There is a food truck . The band plays on the outside deck .They have wine flights , by the glass or bottle. The Syrah rose is amazing! Lovely, chill spot. Beautiful, casual. Def go for the tues/ Thur. Twilight series or whenever they are open. Really lovely. Admission is free. Only negative was that we arrived at 8:00pm and at 8:30pm they started the clean up, taking all the Adirondack chairs in and took in all the corn hole games, so that was a little off putting and annoying. But they let us stay and we're friendly about it. Just make sure you go to the Corey tap room and NOT Bedell vineyard, where we went first. read more

A cute place with live music and super good sweet (and I mean... sweet!) white wines. We really enjoyed this winery as it was a "chalet" style tasting room, high up and with a great view of the 30 acres of land. It was a Sunday afternoon and a it seems to be a place that quite a few "locals" come to listen to the live music (a guy with a guitar but with a pretty nice voice and nice selection of music... I was rather impressed!) and have a bottle, or two, of wine. Some even brought picnic bags and their own chairs. On the ground, there were plenty of picnic tables far enough from the loud music but close enough to enjoy it in the background. There are different tasting lists. Our costs $12 for a great taste of the award winning "2007 GEWÜRZTRAMINER" and the" 2007 LATE HARVEST RIESLING" amoing 4 others. I love sweet white wines so these two were my favorites. You get to keep the wine tasting glasses with the vineyard logo as a souvenir. A note for the cost conscious person: if you decide to buy two glasses of wine, it might be just cheaper or almost the same price to buy just the entire bottle. For instance, a gentleman wanted to buy to glasses of the Gewurztraminer, which is $13 per glass; two glasses is $26. But the bottle costs $30. So think of that and probably is better to buy the bottle than just the glasses. Just a thought... However, the bathroom in this place was just disgusting!!! I went inside and it was towels and water (or some liquids... yuk!) all over the floor, dirty sink and trash container overflowing. This bathroom was not cleaned at all for a long time... so it was a rather nasty experience... hence the 4-star rating... Wine costs $16-40 per bottle depending on your choice. Plenty of other wine items for sale such as book, glasses and decanters. And my final comment: The Long Island Wineries need to learn from the California wineries when it comes to attracting and keeping the clientele. Wineries in California have joined forces and created "group memberships" for those who like to visit them frequently where they get free tastings, visits and admission to special events. In exchange, the member is required to buy a bottle a month or more... depending on the type of membership. This also allows the member to bring a guest for a free wine tasting and discount on purchases. California wineries do have other individual memberships that offer the member access to free wine tastings and events. The member is required to buy a case of wine a quarter... it is a win-win marketing scheme that could work for these wineries if they get together and create joint and individual membership plans. Finally, for those staying in hotels around the area, complimentary wine tasting cards should be given, hence bringing more tourism dollars into the state. read more

Where do I begin. So we arrived and before we've even set foot in the main bar area, we're told by three different staff members, "We're closing at 3:00pm for a wedding." And not in a nice, oh by the way tone, more like a "get the hell out soon" tone. What a way to greet guests. Then I walked in and it's been awhile where I've had someone stare me up and down and give me a look that reads, "What are YOU doing here?" I can only assume they were drunk wedding guests. We get to the bar and I order a glass of malbec. The bartender, who is quite possibly the rudest staff of them all insists on lecturing us about the wedding close time, and just stares at my four friends while they select a wine. You'd think that since they were in a such a hurry to chase people out, they would, I don't know, POUR my wine?!? No, instead it turned into a game of telling my friends that they should save $ and buy a whole bottle, while I stared at him with my $20 bill in my hands.
