This is an adorable chocolate shop in bishop arts. I like that it's a little tucked away and not on the main busy road. They had a lot of unique flavor combinations and i really liked that we were able to sample anything we wanted. This is especially helpful when you have those unique flavor combinations. We really enjoyed the belle helene truffles and the fabio truffle. We also got the pony boy chocolate bar and the pebbles chocolate bar. Everything was very high quality and delicious. Great experience, overpriced dark bitter chocolate. I understand that each one of us has our own preferences. My preference is homemade quality. However when it comes to making chocolate even though it's local, it shouldn't hike the price. Higher price doesn't mean higher quality. However the selection of chocolate is as unique as the name. We purchased the marshmallow, nut covered chocolates, a chocolate bar, and turmeric bar. All in the total was over $45.00. I was truly hoping for decadent chocolate. Being that it was dark chocolate it was acidic. It provided a lot of energy but it wasn't the creamy sweet I was looking for. Love the new corner location! My friend and I stopped in so that I could pick up some marshmallows for my kids. We were treated to an amazing sampling of so many different chocolates. She bought the bleu cheese choc, and some of the nutty crunch stuff; I got a box of vegan chocolate and the Fruity Crack Chocolate Bark. Perfect for when I want to satisfy my chocolate craving. From the decor to the flavors, it's unique. Sometimes that's brilliant and tasty, at other times not so much. The decor and naming are a kind of "wink wink" kitsch. Chubby Nuts are candied, salted assorted nuts, covered in white and dark chocolate and dusted with powdered sugar. Truffles carry names such as Luchador, Flower Child, and Ready to Rumble, and more. Fudges go by When Pigs Fly, Black MMMole, and Albatross, and more. Treats bear cute names such as Break Up Potion, Fruity Crack, Hippie Crack, and One Night Stand Potion. Skulls and trashy but classy decor abound in this place. The names of the treats belie some clever and unique flavor combinations. As previously noted, sometime these flavors work and sometimes they don't. But everyone's tastes are different, and you are likely to find things you love and others you loathe here. Not just any marshmallow though! These are made-in-house, Russian styled marshmallow (aka zefirs). Made with cane syrup from Luisiana & high quality cocoa powder, they truly elevate the drink to the next level. I love samples, especially if you want to try it before you buy it. They have a large selection of different dark chocolate with the description of each one. They have gift options as well as hot chocolate powder and they also offer a soft serve that they make into a Sundae. My favorite is whistle pig. I mean... they've got a Macallan 12 infused chocolate truffle. We were having dinner at Lucia next door and noticed that the chocolate shop next door was still open at 9 pm. Of course, I had to walk on over to check it out. Mark, the lone dude working the store is one of the most awesome people I have randomly met. He was very friendly and sweet, and gave us samples to taste to decide which chocolates we wanted to buy. This guy knows how to sell chocolate. After tasting a drool worthy selection of chocolates, I settled on the Flower Child Truffle which was one of the most unique truffles I've had with hints of Bergamot, Jasmine, and one other ingredient I'm blanking on right now. It's heavenly when you let a small piece sit on your tongue and let it melt. You can taste all the notes. Besides chocolate bars and truffles, they have frozen yogurt, oils, chocolate FDA salami, and so much more. The boxes make great gifts for birthdays or special occasions. I actually have never been inside the store, but I love the name! I received the "crack in a box" chocolate bark from a coworker as a gift and I was blown away at the taste. It was really good plus they came in these little bite sized squares for easy snacking. I had to control myself so I didn't get the whole box in one sitting. This place may well be a great local shop. Frankly, their chocolates look delicious and amazing. Unfortunately, they have zero idea how to ship their products. The order we received was packaged in boxes that were from some other company (and with crossed out address lables) and everything inside (including the chocolates we selected) was saturated with a viscous liquid that must have been a solid at one point to keep everything cool. We have no other option but to throw everything away. Granted, the company agreed to refund our money, but they weren't that nice about it. Huge fan. It was the first time I have been in here as the huge sign that said CHOCOLATE drew me in. Upon walking in, we were warmly greeted. This is not your typical chocolatier. They have interesting and unique flavors. We bought a bar that had root beer flavor and another one with coconut and honey. Very tasty and the quality of the chocolate is top notch. Dude. Sweet. Now that that's out of the way... This place was not anything like I thought it would be. I was thinking of a big bakery with lots of chocolate being displayed in cases. All kinds. With fruit. With out. I'm not sure why I had pictured it that way. Walking in I thought, where's the chocolate? Where are the display cases? There were two dudes hanging out. One was eating his dinner. The other dude told us everything was in the back. There was a big metal shelf with lots of brown bags all labeled differently. I'll go with Carlos on calling the layout simplistic. The dude not eating dinner came around to get us a sample of something. He mentioned earlier that everything was dark chocolate based. I thought for sure I wouldn't like what he gave us to sample, but one bite into the yerba mate truffle and I was in love. He told me it was made with local honey, some lemon and some other stuff.
