My son and I were on an exploration of experiences. From gaming caves, to musical head banging, to axes in flight and treats of explosive flavor. We stopped at Kate Weiser for a journey in chocolate. We visited many of the flavor stops that they offered and found quite a few of them that were indeed explosive in taste. There were maybe 20 or more combinations and my son and I selected ones to fill our boxes with. We hung out for a bit eating this one or that one while drinking our waters. The staff here were fun, They knew their stuff, and they were very attentive. Honestly some of the flavors were meh... one or two were yuck, but the majority of them took us on a trip of flavor transcendence! Wow!! They looked almost as good as they tasted. True small confectionary works of art that were so perfect they looked fake. It was an awesome stop for my son and I. Stumbled upon this place after a lunch date and man I just wish there was a location closer to McKinney. I love fancy chocolates and these are so scrumptious and beautiful. Almost too pretty to eat. I of course had to get a box with every flavor. I literally ate the whole box in one sitting and there wasn't one chocolate that wasn't good. This is a hand-made, high-end gourmet chocolate shop. They have over 700 locations in DFW. I got a box of 6 chocolates for $22. It's expensive but so delicious! Each is exquisitely made and it is not overly sweet like some is the chocolatiers. I also purchase a little Carl snowman for my kid. It is a fancy "cocoa bomb" for your warm milk. Some unique and clever flavor blends, alongside some tried and true traditional flavors. In every instance (well, of the many I have tasted so far), the flavors are perfectly balanced and a real delight to eat. The painting and decoration elevate these incredible, world-class bits of taste heaven to small works of art for your eyes too. (I've capture some--and definitely not all--the flavors in the photos attached to this review.) Taste and vision combine to delight your senses and warm your heart and spirit. Yum! Let's be clear this is a chocolatier, not a chocolate maker. They use an excellent French couverture chocolate--one of the best in the world for couverture. But they don't make the chocolate. They take that fine couverture chocolate and make superb bonbons and truffles from it. Dallas does have a good chocolate maker too, but that's another review. For those who complain about the price, get over yourselves. The prices are very typical for superb quality truffles any place in the world. You think that top-shelf, excellent French couverture chocolate and the other high-quality ingredients are cheap for the company to buy? No. They are not. And the skills needed to paint and decorate these little masterpieces are not common. There are not that many chocolatiers in this class in the entire world. If you know me, you know I have a massive sweet tooth. So when I heard about Kate Weiser Chocolate I knew I had to try it. There were so many tasty options that it was hard to choose! Ultimately we decided on the $22 box where we could choose 6 beautiful chocolates. We chose Truffle Honey, Key Lime Pie, Lavender Apricot, Pistachio Peach, Mango Habanero, and Raspberry. My favorites were the Truffle Honey, Key Lime Pie, and Raspberry. Not only were they delicious but they are literal art. You can tell they really take their time to make each chocolate exactly right. Wow, never paid so much for chocolate and enjoyed every single bite. 2nd time here and we tried pretty much something from every section. Absolutely amazing artistry and completely incredible flavors. Huge fan of the chocolates, although the macaroons tasted great there a little too sweet for what I wanted today. This place is magical, stunning, fragrant, and DELICIOUS!!! Mia, the lovely helper behind the desk, told us (my Mom & me) all about how KW got started and evolved to this place. We were able to stand at the glass and watch the chocolate masters at work! FYI: it takes three (3) days to make a piece of this confection. We ended our tour with a piece each, Mom had Cookie Monster (the best seller) and mine (the Gluten-Free edition) a purple one. This is a shop known for its inventive flavors and hand painted bonbons and macarons. Located in the Trinity Groves section of Dallas. Atmosphere: A small shop which is nicely decorated with a big glass window where u can watch all of the confections being made in the back. Of course the standout in the room is the large glass case housing all of the gorgeously hand painted bonbons. 1 Star Service: The employee was very helpful, patient, and informative. She explained some of the discounts available if you buy certain numbers. She was happy to enlighten us on what exactly was in each truffle. 2 Stars Food: Each truffle was amazing. They all have a nice crispy shell of chocolate with a perfectly creamy filling. Some are a type of ganash while others are simply chocolate or caramels. For example, the Cherry Almond is a dark chocolate shell filled with a "Bada Bing cherry pate de fruit with almond gianduja." It was amazing with actual real tiny chunks of cherry. Other standouts included the Strawberry Basil (my favorite), the Mango Habanero, and the Key Lime Pie. The macarons are also very good but come in a much more limited flavor profile. 2 Stars Overall impression: Definitely will return. These were all exceptionally made and extremely tasty. ------------------------ My Rating System: Things have changed. Oh my goodness, the most beautiful truffles I've ever seen! A little on the pricey side but for the amount of work that probably goes into it, it is well earned. I received a gift box of chocolates and my favorite, macaroons, as a welcome gift to a new company. The chocolates were mostly delicious but did have some unique flavors I did not love but its all personal preference. I was so excited to eat the macaroons as they are my favorite - see above- haha. They were soooo stale and hard as a rock. I was beyond disappointed. Upon my return to Dallas a few days later I took them into the store hoping they may swap me out or at least give me a percentage off a new set. The woman working was so kind and helpful. She let me select the macaroons that I wanted based on the flavors and gave me a fresh set for free. She apologized for the stale ones and gave me no issues at all. You could tell she just wanted to make it right. Service like that is what makes higher-end chocolate places successful. I am now a Kate Weiser fan for life. read more

I am over the moon! Finally visited this amazing place . I was gifted a 15 piece box in October from a friend who lives in Dallas, I savored one piece a day for 15 days! I am finally here in Dallas and this was #1 on my list of places to go. I walked in 7 mins before closing (the sales associate wasn't too happy with that, I could tell) but she was pretty patient as I slowly gazed over everything they had to offer. Aside from the design of them, I was not satisfied with the flavor or quality except for a single piece. I chose several from the boards, and enjoyed their macaroons as well. It's more for the look as I do not agree with the price or other reviews regarding the taste. The pistachio is the one flavor I would highly recommend but that's about it! read more

A couple weeks ago, I saw an article featuring their Carl the Snowman hot chocolate. Their website recommends preordering the snowmen as they can run out for that day. I ordered three and scheduled the pickup for today. When I arrived this afternoon, there were plenty of the snowmen available for purchase. At least a dozen were displayed throughout the store. It would have been quicker if I hadn't preordered. Of the orders set behind the counter, none were mine. When my order couldn't be located, the staff ended up grabbing the ones in the kitchen. Here you'll find the open kitchen, and if you're lucky Kate and her team will be busy in the back working on creating those awesome gems. It's unique and a pretty amazing experience. 1 Star. Service - There is only one register, but the staff is nice, courteous, & helpful. There are quite a bit of options, so take some time to really figure out what you want. Also, the staff in the back are more than happy to engage with you and answer questions. Good stuff here. 1 Star. Food - The chocolates are not only beautiful but they're also delicious. You'll find and assortment of flavors as well as ice cream, but I'm focusing only on the chocolate. Again, you need to look at the detail to understand exactly how much work is put into each. I also want to highlight their hand crafted chocolate/candy bars. I recently had one that tasted like fall. It was a bar layered with chocolate, a cookie wafer, marshmallow, and pumpkin spice. Yelpers, this review is strictly based on my experience of almost using them as a vendor to provide chocolates as party favors to my wedding guests. This review does not reflect how I feel about their store front service or the taste of their chocolates. Kate Weiser has gotten massively and insanely popular recently! I can see why, since her chocolates are so aesthetically pleasing to the eye and they taste amazing. My absolute, 100% favorite, hands down is the cookie monster! Her flavors are accurate and they pack a punch! Just the right amount of flavor to add into the high quality chocolate she creates and designs. With that being said, while her storefronts are doing well and she's released her chocolates into major department stores, BTS, her team does not have it all together IMO. One of the areas that definitely needs improving is organization, communication, and a clear and defined process for corporate events and weddings. I had loved her chocolates so much that I decided I wanted to purchase her chocolates in bulk as wedding favors for my wedding...little did I know, that trying to go through the process would become a nightmare. I communicated with Jordan, the Corporate Sales Director, to arrange a bulk order of chocolates to be delivered in time for my wedding. Unfortunately, the process is not well thought through, and they do not have a proper system set in place to deliver the chocolates (despite Texas weather conditions), lack of clarity in pricing when it came down to the details for gift boxes, wrapping, and even custom writing on the bottom of the chocolates. There was some miscommunication due to the lack of solid information she was able to provide on pricing, and there were "extra" fees and things that were not initially presented in the beginning, and the price(s) started to increase more than it should have by the time we got to the process of providing quotes and invoices. Also, this is a late review post, as I experienced this mishap with KWC back in August 2019....however, it seems that they don't have all their ducks in a row, and I would highly recommend that they release a brochure or a a la carte type pricing list so that customers can see the breakdown of all the costs rather than jumping back in forth from email to email communication. All in all, they made the process really stressful and difficult to order bulk chocolates from them. I would not recommend using them for events or weddings, rather just simply enjoying some pieces whenever a craving rolls around would suffice. read more
