Wild Mushroom Toast - this was not wild mushroom but crimini, so just a slight adjustment to title, IMHO

Solid spot while in the area. If the decor was a sign for how delicious the food is then this place would be hitting it out of the park! Alas, decor is cuter than food is delicious but that's OK. We shared dishes and tried a few things which was fun to be able to taste more of the menu. I'm a sucker for a good dip so I was excited for the cod dip. We ordered extra crackers, so my pic reflects a double order. The dip was good overall in flavor but too loose/watery in texture and not really Smokey despite the title. If it was thicker it would have been a little stronger overall. The winter salad was good but I'm never a fan when big chunks of lettuce are served. I want a salad that is chopped and mixed properly together to meld the flavors and this wasn't that. Maybe it just comes down to personal preferences. Overall I'm glad we checked it out. I can't say I'd drive from home which is in east Santa Rosa just for it, but I'd make it happen again when in the area.

Overall solid B: great place, staff, cozy indoor/outdoor seating, yummy pizza fix after a long volunteering day at Pt Reyes: winter chicoties pizza pie (farm eggs, pecoriono, agliato), house salad, IPA beer and house red wine.

The service was excellent many seating areas inside and out nice to hang out while we waited for our car to charge The food...the oysters baked and fresh were very good we had chicken wing they had like no flavor and the drink was horrible,my poor hubby o my drank it because it was 13. Bucks

We went to Due West on Valentine's Day for which they had a special menu, so this review doesn't apply to the usual dishes. Even so, I'm sorry to say the food didn't live up to my expectations. The little gems salad was beyond acidic and the sunchokes were hardly roasted as advertised on the menu. I'd have surely passed had I been given the smallest taste of the apple cider vinaigrette. The beets were a huge improvement with a well composed mix of endives, walnuts and citrus. That'd be a repeater. I'm happy to report that everything else, from the warm service to the charming dining room to the stunning location in West Marin made it a worthy experience, but I hope someday I'll return for the regular menu and be wowed.

Was my first time stopping by this place on my way home from Stinson beach. Initially stopped her for a drink but decided to check out the food menu as well. Jesse was an amazing bartender w/ good conversation and great drink suggestions especially when I didn't know what I wanted. It was nice to hear that others coming in also were excited for his cocktails. I love the decor of this place and how cozy it feels. Loved hearing that they do have an outdoor seating area w/ heaters so I will def check that out next time! I enjoyed my entree and everything was flavorful.

We went hiking at Bear Valley and stopped by this tavern for lunch. The place was nicely decorated and we were seated immediately. Although their was only one other couple dining there, it took awhile for our food to be served. We both ordered the kale salad and fried chicken burger. The food was delicious!

While all along absorbing the beautiful scenery. And beautiful scenery there is indeed, just a short few miles from the bustling city life. My friends from Berkeley came for the ride today for a little bit of decadent indulgence. (I'll keep their names anonymous since I'm not sure if they're still in the witness protection program?) We had lunch at a pizza spot at Tam Junction then took a ride over Mount Tamalpais and down into Stinson beach, and then on to Point Reyes Station. When we got to Point Reyes Station the first thing that I mentioned was the Station House, and much to our surprise as we glanced over it was all shut down! Closed, shuttered, no more, another victim of Covid economy, etc.? We snagged the first parking space a block down the road on the right side, parked, and lo and behold as we crossed the street there it was- the all new Station House! A ghost orchid, appearing in Shangri-La! Drawing us in was the George Nelson bubble lamps hanging from the ceiling and a peek in the windows revealed a much hipper modernized facility in a new location with an incredible stunning aesthetic. Every detail is well thought out and expertly executed. From the polished floors to the beautiful lighting and artwork it is truly a gem. Even the restroom areas are exquisitely presented with sinks and mirrors outside of the stalls. Beautiful tiling in the stall area that somewhat resembles Heath ceramics subway tile. In my book, if there's a nice restroom area you've already scored tons of points and client appreciation. The bartender was top notch and drives quite a ways to come to his gig. We had a great chat with a charming local woman, who appears to eat there often- a real interesting and fun conversation. I had a killer Old Fashioned and my friend had a beer and his wife had an absolutely lovely non-alcoholic drink which I believe was called the Big Lyre. The only negative was that we had just eaten, so we tried the popovers which were out of this world and served with a succulent honey butter. I am filled with anticipation for my next visit, which will certainly be on my next day off. It's a bit of a journey to get there, but well worth it. A must destination, put it on your list.

There's a bar as well. Arrived Saturday around 5 and it wasn't too busy no reservation needed. It picked up business around 5:30-6:00 PM. 1/2 dozen oysters $24 (5/5): Easily the best oysters, especially sourced from Tomales Bay nearby. Served raw on ice with mignonette or broiled with garlic butter. Ordered each half. Raw was very good, but broiled with garlic butter is phenomenal. Wagyu skirt steak $38 (5/5): Akaushi beef, green beans, marble potatoes, spring onions, truffle butter & demi glace. The steak was incredibly tender, and the outer sear was peppered. The sauce tasted like a wine reduction, and it definitely felt heavy. The tiny onions and greens were a nice touch, wish there was a side of mashed potatoes but great regardless. This visit felt like a much better experience than my last. Would go again, definitely a place not for the faint of the wallet.

We had a 7:45pm dinner reservation and arrived on time, only to find no one at the host stand. After waiting about 10 minutes, someone finally came and seated us around 7:55. Water was poured, and then nothing. No server ever came to our table. After sitting there for 30 minutes without anyone taking our order or even checking in, we left at 8:25. Really disappointing, because the food actually looked good. We were staying nearby and decided to give it another shot the next morning for breakfast, which was included with our hotel stay. Unfortunately, it was more of the same. We arrived around 9am, again no one at the host stand. We eventually flagged down a waitress, who rudely told us to just seat ourselves. After sitting down, we waited another 20 minutes and still no one came to take our order. We left again without eating. The front of house operation here is a complete mess. It feels like there is no system at all, no coordination, no accountability, and no awareness of guests. At one point, I overheard staff saying things like "let's just say this one has no milk in it" and "let's just say this one is sunny side up," which made it clear they did not even know where dishes were supposed to go and were just guessing. Even more telling, barely anyone in the restaurant was actually eating, and most people looked as confused and frustrated as we were. Honestly, the owner and staff should be embarrassed by how poorly this place is being run. I have never seen such a complete breakdown in service, especially two days in a row. Huge disappointment.

Not my idea of a special night out. Just because you can afford to take your sweetheart out to a nice dinner doesn't mean you're a jerk and deserve to be scowled at. This can happen when you try and do really good food in a rural area and the workforce just isn't up to the challenge. Too bad. Sometimes you can train people to be gracious and inviting and to care about their jobs but sometimes people are just too broken and there's nobody else to choose from.

It made such an impression on me the last time that I had to bring my kids this time. Among the many jewels on the menu is an incredible Maple Pear French Toast - obviously seasonal, but it hits the exact perfect notes. Covered in a generous dollop of ricotta, these dense custard-soaked French toast slices are covered with warm pear bits -- and candied walnuts... plus pure maple syrup. It's worth the trip by itself. This place is 5 stars for location and ambiance, service is 3.5 - 4.0, and the ownership needs to hear this, ordering outside from the little box off to the right, it was very disorganized and the lady bringing the food wasn't happy as the orders didn't have numbers or names associated but we were supposed to pick our table number to give them before our order, but standing in line to order, you can't read the tables numbers from that far away. They could easily fix that by handing out numbers with the orders or taking names they could call out. However... Today's review is for Mother's Day May 10, 2026, and without knowing there was a huge Mother's Day brunch (buffet only, $46/person) we showed up, my wife wanted to see the venue, we have 2 unmarried children and I was raving over the venue in the back, fake grass, the gazebo, the redwood trees, the outdoor bar, lots of room for catering tables, dance floor...but these folks were RUDE, and I don't know if they were offsite catering or ownership employee's but when we declined the buffet, I saw there were only 2 people at the bar, I asked if we could sit at the bar and have a drink? The yes came weirdly hesitantly, so we went to the bar, I know the bartender from previous visits and confirmed with him that the only food was the buffet, so I then took my wife just to walk back to view where the wedding venue would be, folks were eating but we merely went to the back doorways which were wide open to take a look, I made it thru but a lady in a black catering style outfit stopped my wife and said you CAN'T go back there, and another lady in a flowered dress who seemed to be the boss came scurrying towards me, and so I told her our situation that we just wanted a peek, we weren't going to steal a plate and eat, and told her that honestly they were treating us like we were trying to sneak around the metal detectors into a high priced concert, and that if this is how they treat people we were going to remove their property from our list of possible venues, as it was we were prepared to drop about $150 on food and beverages today, and they lost out on that, but maybe they don't need local business. There are lots of other places to go in the county, sorry Nicasio, you have lost a repeat customer, I will not be back.
