Duffy's was recommended to us by my sister. They wanted to go for the fresh lobster tonight. Place has a very fun vibe with music, open air seating. Drinks were tasty although neither round we ordered were delivered at the same time. About 5:45 our server came around to inquire which size lobster we wanted, then asked tables that arrived after we had. Bottom line our meals were delivered to our table nearly an hour, 55 minutes later and after the two table who arrived and ordered after us. It also took three requests to get refills of water. I guess if we had ordered another round drinks were would have been sooner. I had heard so many wonderful things about Duffy's, unfortunately our experience fell woefully short. It's the best parking lot bar on earth. The drinks are deceptively strong, which makes for a refreshing buzz after a day at the beach. The staff are all super fun and will walk you through all the different options of drinks and have never let us astray. We fell for the hype of the "restaurant/bar in a parking lot" setup at Duffy's. The food was just ok (but not memorable) and service was not great (slow and the waiter got my order wrong even though he specifically said salad when he wrote it down - but brought me a sandwich). They have an extensive bar list, and most of their cocktails come in themed keepsake glasses for an extra fee. We went on Margarita Monday, and our drinks came in a plastic drink shaker but they felt a little watered down and it was served with a small plastic cup. I recommend coming here for a fun drink, but moving elsewhere for dinner. read more

Typical overpriced for tourists bar food, but the drinks are amazing and definitely poured with a heavy hand. I would def come here just for drinks alone. It was nice to sit outside and enjoy our meal and our waiter Joe was really cool and friendly. We had great conversations. I def recommend getting the souvenir cup option for your drinks as they come with cute little knick knacks and a souvenir glass. I didn't know what to expect based on reviews, but I am glad we went. It took about 30 minutes to get a table, but we were able to walk around the shops across the street while waiting. They called us when our table was ready. The restaurant is located on the parking lot. It is open to air, but they do have inside and outside seating. The bar is inside. They have good drinks and if you want a souvenir cup, they have the option to pay a little extra for the drink for the cup. Some of the cups are cute and the menu will let you know which cup you will get. I ordered the lime in dee coconut and the trophy wife shot. The lime in dee coconut was just what I expected. It came in a real coconut and I was able to eat the coconut meat once done. The trophy wife shot was tiny. Not worth it. The wacky pineapple was probably the best drink of the night. It was sweet, but not overpowering. For food, we started with the conch fritters. They reminded me of hush puppies. I couldn't really taste conch, but overall they had a good flavor. The taco salad with the catch of the day was so good. The catch of the day was the Mahi Mahi. It was grilled and had a good flavor. The fish sandwich wasn't anything special. Just a typical sandwich. The fries weren't great, but the coleslaw was good. The servings were big enough to fill us up. Parking is available on site, but shared. Depending what time you go, it may be difficult. We went at 8pm on a Saturday and was able to find parking easily. read more

I was in St Thomas for a destination wedding weekend, and we got HONGREY after some excursions so we ended up at Duffy's. Duffy's lived up to the previous reviews. And we had a very witty and delightful server. Yes, Duffy's is actually a shack plopped on the side of the street in front of a strip mall, but the food was hella good and the prices weren't ridiculous like a lot of other places in Red Hook. I had the Cuban Sandwich with French Fries and two of those Wacky Pineapple drinks. Delicious! I would have loved sweet potato fries instead of waffle fries, so I'm like, "hey there, do you have sweet potato fries...?" Server: "that would be a no" Me: "well no worries, I'm sure it'll be good" Server: "well it's still on the menu, so there's that..." Me: "and I'm digging these prices too, this place is dope" Server: "dude...you're in the parking lot...we're not in a position to be price gouging customers". We stopped by Duffy's for dinner on 2/1. It was their 30th Anniversary party and what a blast. Such a fun laid back atmosphere. It really is the best parking lot bar ever! They had tons of drink and food specials. We got the mozzarella sticks, onion rings, fried shrimp, popcorn chicken, and the Carribean Pu-Pu plater. All of our food was so good. We got some specialties drinks as well and would get all of them again. I don't think you can go wrong with anything on their menu. They also had live music by Lourdes and The Switch. We ordered the fish and chips, it was very good. My husband also got a burger to go and said it was good. Bartender/server JW? put some tables together for us, was patient, and shared in some laughs about the chickens (in the surrounding area), and some of the cocktail names (passionate kiss by Travis). So let's just say I needed a drink and Duffy's did not disappoint. If you are looking for a quiet and romantic bar then Duffy's is not that place. It's a fun and lively place which I love. My girlfriend and I both had their pain killer which was awesome! It helped ease my pain of the long trip and the power outage. For $3.75 happy hour price it made me really happy. Duffy's is a must visit when in St. Thomas. We dined here our first night on the island and our trip is not over yet, which means we will probably be back. The restaurant is literally a shack...hints the name. They had music playing, people were dancing, and the atmosphere was just great. We ordered the chips and salsa for an appetizer. It was good but would probably try something different next time. If you're interested in dinner items, check out the burger, fish and chips, or taco salad. Our waiter was very nice and good at customizing dishes based upon allergies and preferences. My only complaint is that it is a "one check, one table" restaurant. This was hard on my part because some people needed to pay with a work card, and some with personal money. read more

I got my conch fritter fix, and then some! This is the 4th time I've visited St. Thomas/St. John and I basically live on conch fritters throughout the duration of my stays. This was the first trip spent predominately on St. Thomas, so I somehow had missed this place up until now! Very cool little bar/restaurant with a nice vibe and a fun waitstaff. I went in with the expectation of sitting down just long enough to stuff my face with an order of conch fritters... That quickly turned into multiple orders (licking the dipping sauce containers clean because it is so good?!?), a couple of their signature Lime in Dee Coconut drinks, and then I think our waiter suggested the Zoom Zoom shots- Why the heck not! This restaurant was amazing! It is probably the best restaurant that is in a parking lot! The vibe is super cool and the cups they have their drinks in have so much decoration. My favorite was the shark tank which was a large bucket of a rum drink that looked like island water and had sharks in it. The best part was their dessert. This is a highly rated spot in Red Hook, and I can imagine why. You looking for a good time? This is IT. It is definitely catered towards tourists. Drinks aren't poured heavy, and are full of sugary sweet juices. There aren't many options for those of us that like a good cocktail, this is an end of the night place to have a night cap and your last few shots. The atmosphere is very party-esk with sticky tables and floors to join. Don't get me wrong, it was a ton of fun, but just trying to set the scene. Music was very loud and hard to talk. Again, perfect for you when you're drunk. Food was actually REALLY good. We shared a jerk chicken sandwich, and it was full of flavor. Service was so/so. We were forgotten quite a few times, and a lot of items we had asked for were forgotten as well. We often had to remind the waiter once or twice. Possibly because we weren't wasted and a big money maker, but who knows. They do get really really busy, so try to put your name on the list early or come after 9:30. I think it's a must try for people visiting the island, but I wouldn't call it anything special. read more

Apparently you have to tell the bartender that the drink you want is part of happy hour (even though it's on the happy hour menu). Despite ordering happy hour priced beers, happy hour food, and even asking for the happy hour menu - you have to specify if you want a happy hour bushwacker, jungle juice, pina colada, or painkiller so they can give you a smaller size. The bartender didn't tell us this at all when I ordered and only said something when I asked about the check. It's not honest and not a business I will visit again because of this. As an island local, I'm disappointed in the bartender for being disingenuous. read more
