We had take-out chicken from Duguay's for the first time and were pleasantly surprised. The chicken was perfect, way better than other non-chain restaurants in the area. The only disappointment was the container was plastic and the hot chicken melted the lid. My suggestion is to either switch to a paper container or at least put paper between the chicken and the container. We will be back! read more

I went here with my grandmother after a church service at Higher Ground Ministries. The food is great, and the chicken is very juicy. The grilled cheese is not good. It wasn't nicely decorated (there wasn't much decoration anyway), but there was a few TVs. Two of them playing the Olympics and the other one showing the powerball. read more

Fried chicken is great and I would definitely come back for it again...but the rest of the items I tried on the menu are just okay. I love Jojo potatoes and they are hard to find around here. The consistency is good, but they are flavorless. Customer service is good, but overall slower than most places. I would however recommend their chicken. Oh man, Duguays does like two things and they are VERY good. It's fried seafood or fried chicken, so if you're hoping for a salad with chicken on don't get your hopes up, ha ha. I'm not 100% sure, but I get this feeling like they get whole birds and make all the pieces themselves, because the chunks of chicken are *huge* and extremely fresh. It's a bit of a wait, so I recommend you call ahead and pick up there - but so, so worth it. read more

Amazing!!! Huge, fresh, hand breaded chicken tenders with golden , crispy batter! I have never had a better fried chicken tender than this place and I am 41 yrs old and have been in the restaurant industry for 27 yrs. Everything is made fresh to order so it does take a few extra minutes to get your food but time flies by making small talk with the counter help. Nice people, a little bit pricey but well worth it. I will save you the time of reading through another review for yet another roadside chicken shack. Here's what to get : The Chicken. The Tenders are my preferred favorite. The Buffalo Tenders are not overly sauced and actually come dry (like actual Buffalo NY style) and the wing dings are quite good. The mashed potatoes are done with a simple country gravy that is way different and better than any other place that claims they have "gravy" . This should be ordered if you have the luxury of fork use. Here's what not to get: Anything else. The Jo Jo potatoes are good if you like bland baked potato wedges. If thats your thing , go for it, But I opt for more flavor. The burgers are so dissapointing you'll wonder why in hell you ordered a burger at a chicken place again... and again. The service is very pleasant and they do have a decent little space to eat that stays clean but don't expect lightening speed service or anything fancy now. Duguays has always been my favorite place for chicken. Best chicken I've ever had, but make sure you check your order before you leave. I should know by now because this is at least the fourth time my order was wrong and I didn't find out until I got home. When I called to let them know I was told I could come back and get what I was missing or take a credit for next time I ordered since they don't have delivery. Of course I want my complete order so I go back across town while my dinner gets cold and they offer nothing over what I was missing. Not even an apology. We knew of this place for a while, but my family never thought of coming there until we craved for some fried chicken. We called for an order and waited. They said it was gonna take a few minutes. We picked up the food and it was great! It's delicious and the food is fresh. We go there once in a while if we don't have any dinner ideas. The sea food there is good too. They are good with keeping up with huge orders and we never had a mistake. Props to them! The only problem is their coleslaw. It's mushy. You can get a decent amount of coleslaw too. I've always enjoyed their fried chicken pieces and jo-jo potatoes. Some other reviewers complained about the lack of seasoning on the jo-jo potatoes, but this is nothing a little salt, pepper, and a dipping sauce of your choice can't fix. I prefer to season them to my liking since you can always add more, but you can't remove seasoning. Their chicken tenders are also delicious. They are good sized with a tasty batter and cooked to perfection. My only criticism would be their cole slaw. It consists of nearly pureed cabbage drenched in mayo. I don't think they expect you to like it since they only give you basically a shot glass of it. But since you don't got to fried chicken joint for their cole slaw, I'll still give them 5 stars! read more
