She also grooms my parents dog, who absolutely loves her. She always comes back smelling so fresh and clean and with a bandanna that matches the season. When I have the time and forethought to call for an appointment for my little dog, she also goes there. She's normally terrified of both being groomed and strangers, but she willingly goes to Jen. Prices are extremely reasonable especially compared to where I'm coming from in the city. It's just sad I have to take an hour trip out there to do it.

Stella is new to boarding and still learning how to socialize, so this was a huge adjustment for her. Despite her tiny Bichon Shih Tzu stature, she definitely put up quite a fight! The staff was incredibly patient and did their best to make her feel comfortable. One staff member even went to the store to get some of Stella's favorite fruit, which meant a lot to me. If your dog is already comfortable with boarding and other dogs, I think this is a great facility. I loved that there were cameras, and all the other dogs seemed to be enjoying themselves. Stella just wasn't ready for that experience, so I don't think multi night boarding is the right fit for her. Though, I would consider doing daycare for her at this facility! My only feedback is that she came home smelling strongly of urine and the kennel, and her coat was heavily matted after four nights. I was told baths need to be scheduled in advance, so that's something to keep in mind if your dog has a long stay. Overall, I'm grateful for the patience and kindness the staff showed Stella. Thank you for taking care of my girl!

However, once I got home I noticed the inprofections all over. His coat and face were cut close to his skin in spots and extremely uneven all over. I specifically said I didn't want to see skin. His face and ears were awful lacking uniformity. Also, the dog is white, obviously they didn't use whitening shampoo. His coat now has a yellow tint. He gets groomed monthly, wiped down daily and brushed weekly so he's being taken care of at home. I was looking for someplace outside of big box groomers and learned the shop was under new owners. So I gave them a try. Haven't decided if I'll go back it's a lot of money for subpar work.

He is always super soft and got a super cute bandana on. Sometimes if they are busy then they take longer but I don't mind since I use that time to wash all my pup's beds and blankets and more. Our family is amazed at ONE day of training being so effective! As a puppy, she is rambunctious and full of energy, and as a breed she is stubborn and incredibly strong - we are very pleased with how one day of training has improved some basic skills such as sit, heel, stay, etc. while supporting basic skills like not jumping up. I have only used the boarding services with K9 Guardians twice and we won't be back…read more I honestly thought the first time was fine, I have two dogs a husky and German shepherd and I know they can be a lot to deal with at times being high energy working breeds. Yesterday was the second time I picked my dogs up after a 4 day stay. My husky had speckles of urine all over his white face and down his chest. My shepherds fur was all crusty on his stomach, as if he'd been lying in urine and had feces in the fur around his butt. They both stunk and felt grimy to the touch..these are show dogs and I am a professional groomer, meaning I normally bathe them every 2 weeks, so for them to come home like this after 4 days, I was disgusted. I check over both dogs once we were home and both had a dry nose and deeper red gums that were very dry, indicating dehydration. They went straight for the water and drank about a bowl each. They make you pay before getting your pet, if I would've seen them I wouldn't have paid for such poor service. This bordered on animal abuse and I won't be leaving my pets in their care, or lack there of, again! Just to note: Before my dogs stayed the first time I asked for a tour so they showed me the back kennel area and dog run section. The "day camp" dogs are in VERY small kennels (maybe 3x3 I'm not sure) and they keep their prong collars on them while kenneled. This to me is a safety hazard but I'm not certain if boarders are handled the same way. Boarders are in larger kennels I think 6x6 or 6x9 but the runs are just large enough for them to pee and move around some. Outside of that pets are not exercised, unless you pay an additional $50 a day for training... and thats supposed to be 15 minutes of training an hour....Not a walk or actually exercise activity

Our Yorkie can be hard to groom but they always do their best which is far superior to what we can do at home! The prices are what you expect in the Chicago area but I switched to Barkin' because my old groomer could never get me scheduled even with a month notice. Barkin' always finds time to accommodate when I need the dogs groomed and I especially love I can add on nail grinding because the dogs come home with less sharp nails than when they are just cut! The bandannas they put on are also a great finishing touch! Highly recommend this groomer!! Every dog I see leaving looks amazing!
