Duke's Brewhouse is a decent place to grab bar-type food in Plant City. My wife and I got takeout here on a weeknight. We placed the order over the phone for pickup. We were told we could pick it up in 20 minutes and that's how far away it is from us. The parking lot was packed. I walked into a pretty busy restaurant. Dimly lit with lights, neon signs and TVs illuminating the high tops and bar. The pickup area is near the end of the bar. I walked over and was greeted. The food was ready and I paid. Everyone was friendly and the process was simple and quick. We headed home to dig in. This meal was definitely on the OK side. We ordered boneless wings, mini corndogs, and a side of fries. The mini corndogs were ok. Small bits of hotdog wrapped in the sweet yellow cornbread. The hotdogs were pale and didn't look all that appetizing. Seemed low quality. Nothing outstanding to us. The boneless wings were also ok. I'd imagine these would be better fresh in-house. They were warm. We each ordered the small size. What's weird is they charge "market price" for wings and the orders are done by weight. I think the small order was a half-pound. The meat was good, all-white meat, but the wings were small. The breading was ok. I ordered mine with honey mustard and garlic parmesan. The honey mustard was yellow, tangy, and sweet. The garlic parm kinda lacked flavor. My wife's wings were ordered bbq and medium. She was not a fan of the flavors. The fries held up ok. They were seasoned and mildly crispy. In the end, we regretted our heavy, fried meal and wished it had been a little tastier. I'd suggest giving this place a try but would urge you to dine in. Take-out fried food just doesn't hold up. If we were to try Duke's again, we would dine in but we're not in a rush to. read more

This sports bar is so much fun! Chris is the manager and very attentive to the guests! A terrific selection of entrees, appetizers and spirits! My fave is the Carolina boneless chicken! I usually don't even try a spot that's less than 4 stars, but we really wanted to watch football and have a couple beers and wings, so we checked it out. Needless to say, we're glad we did. The service was a teensy but slow, but in her defense, she was pretty busy. There were TVs and football galore and The fried pickles and wings were incredible. We were a bit skeptic after reading reviews but decided to try it anyway. We enter and are seated quickly as the restaurant has about four other tables with people at them. We receive our water and tea and ask the waitress about the fried pickles, weird look on her face and I ask if spears or chips, she relies, "they are circles." We were not ready to order so she leaves. Meanwhile 5 other waitresses are clearing a table or talking or at the bar. We wait 15 minutes and no one comes to take our order. We go to the bar to pay for the tea on the way out. The bar tender does not make us pay for the tea as we explain the lack of attention with all the waitresses around. I ordered a chicken bacon wrap and fries. The fries were cold and soggy and the wrap had so much liquid in it that it was a mess I took a couple bites out of the first half and when I picked up the second the bottom of it was soggy and mushy. Would not feed this to my dog. The bar was sticky and I could see lots of bits of paper napkins where other people had tried to clean it themselves. I know because I did the same thing. read more

They seem to also not to exert any energy to smile. The customers entering, you guessed it...most without mask. Didn't seem to be a problem. This is the second or third opportunity I gave this place cuz, as mentioned...beer is not bad...pretty good, actually. Still, it's not worth the risk...and lack of concern shown by the staff. Save yourself the headache. Kelsey has earned the absolute worst server award. I will not return to Duke's after the experience from tonights visit. She brought out only a portion of our food. Said the kitchen did not make the fries but she would bring them when they were done. She sat at another table for over 10 minutes on her phone. No checking in for drink refills, or if anything was needed. Only when the manager came out of the kitchen did she quickly get up and head to the kitchen. We had been waiting so long that I was ready to leave. When she asked what my problem was, I told her the service. That she could keep the fries. Her response, " I know how long it takes fries to cook!" With such a nasty attitude. I asked for the manager she stormed off. His response was pretty lackluster. Waited for 10 min before someone came up to get our drink order, server was sweet came back promptly with drinks and took out order. 12 wings and a dukes salad took 30 min for food to come out at half seating capacity and salad looked like a 3rd grader made it. I wrote a scathing review of this restaurant several weeks ago when service and food was just terrible on a Friday night. I was promptly contacted thereafter by the General Manager, and he went above and beyond to make sure his restaurant had a second chance at earning my business. I went back this past week, and to be fair, ordered the same exact thing; chicken-friend steak, mashed potatoes, and okra. They did not disappoint! The steak was VERY tender and flavorful, the gravy was super tasty, and the mashed potatoes were homemade and slightly lumpy (just the way I love them). The waitress (nickname: Mermaid) was very attentive, and when it was all said and done, I felt they went the extra mile to earn (and keep) my business. Everyone has a bad day, and I must have caught them on a bad day before. Based on my most recent experience, I would definitely return. read more

Great Wings & Cold Beer I was just passing through Plant City and fell in love with the area. I am not exactly sure who or what caught my eye and made my head turn, then stop when I was cruising around looking for a place to eat and grab a drink. I sat at the bar and was greeted quickly and the service was friendly, prompt, and intuitive the rest of the night. Ordered the wings and they were perfect to me.. crispy & juicy and tossed in some great sauce with just the basic side of fries. What a fantastic place and reason enough to return to Plant City. Since changing ownership, the food has improved and so have the wait staff. I've had a couple instances where they were "new", but it's nice to watch NFL here and drink some brews with my other half. Good times. It really has improved - not perfect, but I like it. ( we only come during Sunday game day since the bar before used to be like a night club ) We haven't yet experienced that with the new ownership. Which, is a great thing. ;) read more

I was in plant city yesterday and thought I'd grab me a hamburger at a local restaurant . I seen dukes restaurant so I decided to stop and get a hamburger. The waitress was pleasant and attentive I ordered Dukes cheeseburger and onion rings . When I received my food I noticed that the tomato on the sandwich was rotten . After taking the tomato off the sandwich I decided to try the the food hamburger was grossly under cooked and absolutely no flavor . I showed the waitress the rotton tomato she made a face and took it to the manager the manager looked at it and and blew it off . Want to joke ! next time I'm in the area instead of going into dukes . I had never heard of the place before finding it on the yelp app and I was very pleased. My family and I were in town to visit my brother. When we walked in, we were greeted kindly and seated quickly. Our server was very helpful and patient with us as we had a 2 yo with us who was enamored with the mini arcade. We started with a 20 count order of chicken wings. The restaurant allows a new flavor for every 5 count so we ended up choosing memphis bbq dry rub, honey garlic, medium, and kickin' korean bbq. The first three were absolutely amazing. The kickin' korean bbq was not to my personal taste, but I would imagine that many other people would do enjoy. I oredered the Shrimp and Fish seafood basket (grilled). I have many food allergies so its always great to find a restaurant that can accommodate this limitation with food that is flavorful, delicious, and fairly priced. I literally told my brother while we were there that I would come visit him during the football season and we should come back. I've ordered from this place twice now and both times they messed up my order. The first time I ordered wings and when it finally got delivered after an hour, the container was full of celery sticks. No wings at all. Today for Sunday Football we ordered BBQ boneless wings and Buffalo wings and when it got delivered the BBQ wings were missing. I had to drive all the way down there to let them know because their phone wasn't working. They did give me my wings but that's it. No "I'm sorry" or compensation for the inconvenience. The food was mediocre at best and the waitress was as slow as molasses. It took the kitchen 30 minutes for an order of cheese sticks and two burgers. The waitress kept forgetting what we ordered and messed up the check twice. She was more worried about fluffing her hair and staying in the kitchen doing gods know what. She only had two tables while the other waitress was running around with six tables. She was quite rude when we had to repeat ourselves and she slammed the check down on our table when she finally corrected it. Needless to say, if I ever go back, I will make sure not to sit in her section again. Cheese sticks and two burgers shouldn't take over an hour to finally leave when we finished eating within 15 minutes. She must have gone to Timbuktu for the to-go boxes and our change. read more

My wife and I waited for 15 minutes while waitresses walked by us, looked at us, but no one came to take us to a table. Finally I decided to ask one of the waitresses that kept looking at us when was someone going to lead us to a table. She just gave me a straight look and said that it is self seating. It's self seating, but they have a sign that says wait to be seated, and not one waitress that walked by us said anything until I asked. There was a couple in front of us that got tired of waiting and left. Finally when I was seated, I again had to get up an approach someone to ask for a waitress after waiting another 10 minutes. I must say once we did get a waitress appointed to us the service got pretty good. She came by our table every few minutes to make sure we did not need anything. As for the food. I ordered Wings, my wife ordered Chicken Alfred. My wife said that the Chicken Alfred was good, but the Wings were the worse I have ever had. I ordered 6 with BBQ sauce and 6 with no sauce. The ones with BBQ sauce looked like they took a bottle of BBQ sauce and just dumped it on my wings. There was so much sauce on them I had to use a napkin to wipe some of it off. There was a puddle of sauce in the bottom of my plate. The six wings with no sauce had no taste to them. They were not seasoned with anything. read more
