GO TO DUKE'S! I've been coming here for years and the food and atmosphere is always the most neighborly, casual feel. You can't beat it. If you're hungry, they have a great selection of sandwiches (even vegetarian). I always get the Hot Italian. The price point is great and they serve food until 3am. It's fun to sit at the bar and chat, or even sit in the dining area for more of a lunch feel. They have a back parking lot, so no stress, there's free parking. Go check out their website for events, there's always something going on! Go support, let's keep Duke's in East Nashville!

Dive bar meets your favorite, little sandwich shop. This spot has a small parking lot that it shares with other businesses. You order your sandwiches and drinks at the bar then grab a seat. There are a few tables inside but mostly bar seats. The sandwiches are made to order and can be hot or cold. You also close out your tab and pay at the bar when you finish. I got the Cuban and it was hot and delicious. It came with just enough chips on the side.

First time at Dukes and got a Togo order. Had the Dukes Italian with Giardiniera and it was fantastic. Great service can't wait to go back and dine in and enjoy another great sandwich!

I got the 2:17 special sandwich and it was really amazing. Just a solid sandwich. And they had an NA beer option (Athletic) which I appreciate.

Who'd a thunk of find one of the best sandwiches in Nashville. I was in town for a few shows at the Ryman (great music hall) I was having a drink and I asked patrons and the bartender where could I get the best sandwich at the same time they all said dukes. To me what makes a sandwich a great sandwich is the roll. Good crunch to the crust good amount of rise on the interior and that dam hood indescribable taste of great bread. THIS PLACE NAILS THE ROLL! Whatever's closest to an Italian OS what I go for, forget their name. I got their condiments on the side cause I wasn't sure if I'd like that change. You can do the same next time I'll get them on the sandwich cause I tan out what they gave me to take out. I put it in my fridge in my hotel room in Home. I usually have a half a sandwich after a show and ended up eating the whole thing it was that yummy! It's also an alternative place which I like. Not stuffy not expensive but great food and service!

Depending on what night ya get in here, the service and DJ music can be on-point or okay. Late night toasted sandwich counter at entrance or exit depending on which door you entered. Everyone has their fave, mine is the cheesy-meaty London Broil! Like prime rib, but no need of a plate and a fork & knife! Comes w/ Zapps chips. So welcomed to close the night. Thank you!

Got there at 2 am, we were told they were too busy to make sandwiches and wouldn't take our order. Not the best option for late night eats.

I ordered the Chicken Parmesan sub, and it was one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. The chicken was super tender, packed with flavor, and the sandwich was huge. I only made it through half and ended up eating the rest later that night. It was just as good the second time around. My wife had the Spicy Italian, and she loved it. The sweet pickles on it really made the sandwich stand out and gave it an awesome flavor. The atmosphere was really cool and felt very authentic. They also have a grocery section where you can buy authentic Italian sauces, pasta noodles, and other items, which was a nice touch. The only thing that surprised us was the fountain drinks being $5 each, but they do come in a souvenir cup. If you're looking for an amazing sub sandwich, I highly recommend Little Hats. The food was fantastic, the staff was friendly, and Germantown itself is a great area to walk around and explore. There are tons of cool places nearby. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in Nashville. I'd give this a 5 out of 5 stars.

The parking lot was crowded when we pulled up and there is a number you have to call to register your vehicle or else it could get towed. We got a number and had no problem finding an indoor table as it was hot out. The outdoor patio is very large though and this place can hold a lot of people. The food came out in 10 minutes or so and the fontina cheese went well with the spicy cherry peppers, which were unique to this sandwich. It also came with some potato salad. There was a self serve water station and you bus yourself.

I am absolutely sure that in the hour my friend and I were waiting, six other other customers were seated ahead of us. Standing for an hour is okay but only if they're actually taking the customers in order. But then we were seated and with the small menu, I was able to order. A few minutes later, Big Al shouts, "Does anyone want a cinnamon bun?" and I have never been closer to taking a walk from my keto diet. But I was good and only drooled a little watching the couple sitting next to us split theirs. It smelled so good. Brunch arrived and we've now been at Big Al's for 90 minutes. I had selected the day's special, the FOUR egg steak omelet which I had with peppers and onions *filled* the plate. Sloppy and tasty and loaded with probably half a pound of sliced steak. I only took one small bit of my biscuit - fluffy and light but heavy and dense. Delicious. My friend had a concoction that I can only call The Coronary Plate: Fried eggs, fried potatoes, fried chicken. Half of a fried chicken that looked better than anything I've ever seen at KFC or Popeye's or my own beloved Bojangles. Crispy, slightly burned but a light batter and a juicy center. Yeah, get that. Big Al's is an anachronism. The food is cooked by hand, it's delicious and it stands halfway down the block of a completely residential neighborhood. You'll be driving the last couple of blocks and wondering, what am I getting in to? Trust me, they're probably open. Pro tip: Try the gravy. It's spicy!
