    Chips and dip - yum
    Priya B.

A really perfect neighborhood dive bar. I've heard great things from friends, but am rarely out super late anymore. Hungry, looking for a place to grab a bite late on a Monday after a concert, decided to come here. Even on a Monday night, I was carded at the door, so 21+ only (an immediate plus, to me). Inside it's all old school, retro dive bar vibes: dart boards, high plush bar stools, very spacious. I grabbed an empty seat at the bar, and was surprised to see this place was relatively happening for 11 pm on a Monday. I hadn't had dinner and was quite hungry so I let the bartender guide me through with selections: chips (homemade) and French onion dip for an appetizer, burger for my main, and the fried cherry and apple pies to take home for dessert. Miller high life to wash all the deliciousness down. The food was wildly good. The burger was meaty and filling and not overly greasy, which was exactly what I was craving. The homemade chips for the French onion dip were amazing and I'd get those over fries any day. The dessert was my favorite - I couldn't choose a flavor so asked for both the cherry and apple in a take-home box. I couldn't resist trying the pies when they were hot, when I was paying for my check and noticed they accidentally gave me two cherry pies. Couldn't even bring myself to be mad about it, damn that fried cherry pie is perhaps one of the most delicious things I've eaten in awhile. Super tart but sweet filling, served hot, powdered sugar on top, again not greasy at all despite being fried. It was *chef's kiss*. Overall, this place is super friendly, attentive service, low key to hang with friends OR enjoy solo, and just a great vibe all around. Peak people watching too, I observed perhaps the most bizarre late night first date sitting at the bar (again, on a Monday). Excellent food, parking easy in the neighborhood on the street, just a great little spot all around. I will be back!

Schulman's officially has my heart. This vintage-inspired dive on the East side has everything you need for a memorable night. My husband and I stopped in for a quick drink on a summer Friday and ended up chowing down on some of their delicious burgers and smothered fries. We found some street parking a ways down the road, and were not surprised to find this place packed! Even still, we managed to snag a small diner-style booth. They do have patio seating as well - but it's a bit warm for that these days. You order food and drinks at the bar, and then they'll bring your food directly to your table. The bartender was incredibly friendly, the prices are spot on, and our food came out hot and fresh in less than 10 minutes! We each ordered one of their cheeseburgers, which are pretty sizeable and definitely shareable if you're not super hungry. If you like pickles with your burger, I suggest sipping on their pickle beer! This was such a fun addition to a delicious burger. We also ordered two sides of fries - one "Beast" style and one topped with chili and cheese. These comforting classics hit the spot, and I have no doubt we'll visit Schulman's again soon.

Can't really ask more from a bar. Cozy warm vintage signs, good beer, darts and live music. Make sure to get there early-ish if you want a seat! It fills up as the night goes on. We enjoyed their French fries and the cherry pie!! The pie will live in my dreams 10/10 recommend a stop by to a authentic bar in Nashville

If you think there's a better bar in Nashville than Schulman's I'm here to tell you you're wrong. Darts? Check. Patio? Check. Beer? Check check. Vintage signage that you couldn't find on the deepest searches of eBay? Check. The best and nicest bartenders in the city? CHECK! Fried pickles, burgers, and pies? Check. A killer espresso martini? You guessed it, check! Must I go on? If you haven't been yet, go. Immediately. Schulman's is the best. Argue with your momma, not me.

Two Miller High Life Pony Spaghetts for $20 - insane. Especially when the much larger 'table special' cost $25 and our server neglected to tell us we were being fleeced. What a pathetic establishment.

Heard this place had great burgers. The burgers were decent. Not great but they were pretty good (good enough to eat again). This place did have a cool vibe. We did not realize you order at the bar. It would've been great to know that so FYI. Smoking is in the back bar. They do have darts but as we found it stays pretty packed. They don't have much parking at all so you have to find street or paid parking.

Stoke Haus Brewing & BBQ is hands down the best BBQ experience of my life!…read more A few helpful tips before you go: parking is a little limited right in front and the entrance is easy to miss. There is additional parking around the side in an open lot that felt safe, was free (at least currently), and was super convenient. Once you arrive, walk around the left side of the building and order inside at the bar. They'll give you a pager, and when your food is ready, you'll head outside to the food truck for pickup. When we first walked in, I have to admit I thought, "What is that smell?" Then I realized it was the giant brewing vats and the smell of the beer-making process. Once I connected the dots, I actually started appreciating it and felt it added to the experience and the authenticity of the brewery. We tried their signature beer, a quality dark ale that paired perfectly with our meal. It had a great depth of flavor and was the perfect complement to the BBQ. For food, we ordered and split: Half order of ribs: incredibly tender with a crispy, flavorful top. They were packed with flavor and came with two dipping sauces. I preferred the BBQ sauce over the Carolina-style sauce, but both were enjoyable. Brussels sprouts: OH MY GOODNESS. I genuinely did not know vegetables could taste this good. Even my veggie-hating partner loved them, which honestly says everything. These were a standout. Mac & cheese: visually, this was beautiful and looked like it was going to be a favorite. Unfortunately, it didn't quite hit the way I expected and wasn't as satisfying as I hoped. THE BRISKET BURGER = THE STAR OF THE SHOW! I have never had a brisket burger before, so I wasn't sure what to expect, but this was phenomenal. The Gouda cheese was incredible, and the combination of the mayo, pickles, and sauce created the perfect balance of flavors. It was everything you want in a burger and more. This is the dish I will be telling everyone about. Beyond the food, the atmosphere was fantastic. They have board games in the back, and it looks like they host karaoke nights, which gives the space a really fun, community-oriented feel. Every staff member we interacted with was kind, welcoming, and helpful. Honestly, there was nothing to complain about. Great food, great beer, great people, and a unique experience. Stoke Haus is a must-visit and if you go, do yourself a favor and order the brisket burger. You won't regret it.

You know the places I'm talking about. No, I wanted somewhere authentic. In a neighborhood, not near the mall. A place most people would drive past. Stoke Haus is all this and more. Much more. 2pm on Sunday and the parking lot was full. (I'm sure a good handful was for the liquor store next door). The first issue - how do you get in?? There is no front door. There is a tall wooden fence on the side of the building. I peek through the gap between the fence and the wall. A long smoker, a pile of wood, a small food truck (what???). I see a couple leaving the building by a side door. This must be it. There is a sign taped to the door: order at the bar and pick up at the truck. Following instructions, we approach the bar. The couple next to me just got their food. OMG. That looks so good. I ask what they have...brisket, a pulled pork sandwich, German potato salad, cole slaw, fried okra and a little pile of pickles and marinated onions. I don't even look at the menu. "I want that" I tell the bartender. We each order a beer (I forgot to mention that this is a brewery too). We received our beer and a buzzer, found a table and proceeded to play on our phones until the buzzer went off. My husband went outside to the food truck and came in with a metal tray nearly overflowing with food. We didn't waste a second digging in. The brisket was incredibly tender with a most amazing bark. A little too fatty, even for brisket, but still a "must order". The sandwich was absolutely stuffed with tender, juicy pulled pork. Perfection. The sides, especially the potato salad were excellent (though the okra wasn't made from scratch, it was still worthy). The pickles? That final little "oomph". Our meal wasn't just a home run, it was a grand slam! I've written a lot of reviews. I've written a lot of 5 star reviews. I'd love to be able to give Stoke Haus 10 stars. This is definitely a don't miss!!

Honestly, I was just relieved we found a spot within easy walking distance. We arrived a few minutes late unfortunately and the lights were already a little dim so I couldn't see the place as well as I wanted. Our tickets and IDs were checked as we walked in. The venue is located on the second floor above another business. The steps are a little steep to watch your heels if you're wearing them! Inside there's a small stage and a nice bar. Seating is pretty limited but for our concert the vibe was definitely super high energy/party focused so we didn't mind standing up to bounce and dance to the music. The bar has a nice array of specialty cocktails. I was very impressed with the bartender, Marc, who was attentive, fun, and hardworking. He even went out of his way to help the performer when a few small details went awry on the stage. I don't drink super often and what I wound up ordering didn't taste quite like how I'd hoped it would, but I'm more than willing to chalk that up to my relative inexperience and general ambivalence toward alcohol. The sound/acoustics were great and the whole place was bumpin! I would advise bringing ear plugs to protect your hearing if you're headed to a loud concert -- you'll inevitably be fairly close to the performer and therefore it can easily be suuuuuper loud with the mics and amps and whatnot. I had a great time but will try to remember mine next time! The only main drawback was it got hot inside super fast. We stood by the open entryway for much of the conference and even that airflow wasn't enough to keep us from leaving very, very sweaty lol. Bring water!
