Stopped in for happy hour with a friend on a Sunday. Their happy hour menu had lots of great options. The place was pretty busy, but had lots of seating options- outside in the front deck, inside and back deck options. The service was good, food was tasty and the drinks were great. It's a great place to watch a game. We watched one of the World Cup games there. Drawbacks- the parking is very limited and we both had to park a few blocks away. There are only 2 bathrooms for the entire restaurant and we both had to wait in line. Overall I would recommend checking out this place if in the area. read more

Our last stop on the PDX Nacho week tour. Pretty warm day so that called for a cold beer as well as the amply sized portion of cowboy nachos. We were seated very quickly and they even allowed my wife to grab a radler out of the cases and brought her a glass. Dukes is located in the heart of downtown Lake O. Parking is difficult but you might need to park down a block or a different street. It's usually not too bad but I feel for the residential neighborhood because the customers of Dukes are always taking all the spots. Dukes has a couple of large TVs for sports as well as a fabulous outdoor seating area. The staff are so friendly and checked on us often, always with a smile. Lots of beers on tap and a large variety of beers, seltzers, ciders, kombucha in the to go case. There is a single handicap spot they provide next to the entrance. I always love coming here for the cheery, happy vibe. read more

Not bad not great. We started with two drinks, both of us had the chaitini and I didn't like it. We didn't send it back as my friend said she'd have mine. I ordered the margarita and it was great. We ordered the chicken sliders one was the Buffalo style and the other the Korean style. Both decent I guess. They were fine but not something I'd go back for. I think what was hard was being uncomfortable while sitting in the low budget metal chairs outside. If seating is uncomfortable, the whole experience has a bit of a dark shadow over it. It's a decent spot on the Main Street of Lake Oswego, more for drinks than food I'd say. Also the poke bowl is quinoa not rice which is kinda sad, don't know who decided that was a good idea. read more

I've been to Duke's a couple times now. I don't know why I didn't really want to like Duke's but I realize that I had some bias against them and it was totally unwarranted - Duke's is pretty great. I've enjoyed my food each time and my companion always finds something good to drink. Most recently went for Portland Nacho Week so got something that wasn't always on the menu, but it was really good. Probably my favorite of all the nachos I tried this week. Inside and outside seating available - I've sat inside both times - seems like the outside areas are always hopping and people are having a great time. Our most recent server seemed to feed off the energy and was super friendly. She really helped make the night. Looking forward to returning. read more

We had a ton of fun tonight. My youngest was turning six and the server got the ENTIRE restaurant to sing to her. Even beyond the fun birthday message the staff was hustling tonight. The back of the house was on point as the crispy Brussels came out hot and fast and delicious along with some solid tacos and the blue cheese pear salad had a great topping to greens ratio. The wait staff was attentive and accommodating and they even managed to arrange a nail biter OT game on tv ;-P This was a much better experience than our last visit. Family brought us out of town'ers for a Saturday lunch with 2 kids 4 adults. Beer and drinks ok. (1 per adult) But the food... just so, so. Absolutely nothing special. I had Teriyaki Bowl that was totally unimpressive! Small piece of dry chicken over a bit of unseasoned rice, unseasoned steamed broccoli and the weirdest thing was a scoop of sweet macaroni salad. All this unloveliness for $22! The bill, with a 20% tip was over $200. For a nothing memorable lunch. Ordered the spiced cider which wasn't very spiced (in a good way), the pretzel, and the roasted rustic veggie sandwich that comes with vegan mayo and fries and it was all delicious. They nicely split the sandwich into two plates for my dining partner and I. Would come again, especially for the happy hour deal! The staff was friendly and quick. Both our drinks and salads arrived shortly thereafter. The steak was tender, cooked well and the salad dressing was light and flavorful. What we found was a great place to watch sports and have a drink. They have a great pour. Service is mediocre. Wait staff were attentive at first but then, we didn't see them. The worst thing was the food. My husband and I ordered an Ahi Poke Bowl and Grilled peach caprese salad with grilled chicken. Literally both meals came out looking like they were a week old. The colors were very bland. Nothing looked fresh. Chicken was overcooked. There were no fresh vegetables in the poke. I couldn't even eat my Poké bowl. Unfortunately, neither mail looked anything like the pictures they have online. We were so sad because we're pretty open to different situations and restaurants, but this was just not good food. The service was fine. I ordered the chicken chopped salad (on special). Some of the lettuce had brown edges. The dressing was nearly flavorless and the chicken was very very dry. We have been twice. First time was on a slow night. We still had to wait a long time for our order to be taken and even longer for it to be served. Meanwhile, the wait staff were busy playing with little children. My wife's sandwich was good and my crunchy chicken tacos were very tough and dry. The second time we left after waiting almost 20 minutes for someone to take a drink or dinner order. Plenty of wait staff, but they were engaged in very long social conversations with patrons. But I was thirsty, and I must say that the cider selection is excellent. Note, though, that most of their stuff is in cans, so go inside to check out the chilled beverages before you select one. Your servers can help with that daunting task. We did get two ciders on draft and some cans to go. New West was my favorite cidery of the ones we tried. While we were there, my friend was in need of Band-Aids for her foot. Our waitress, Jacey, hooked us up with some. Went here the other night for a Dogtopia sponsored event for International Beer Day. It has a pretty amazing set up. Plenty of patio space and room for groups of people out on the deck or other areas outside. Inside has a nice bar area, plenty of seating and TV all around for you to catch a game. Fairly good selection of beers, but, I assumed them being a Public House that they would have more options. While the restaurant was a very nice space, the service was lacking, seemed fairly new... while they were good at keeping our beers full, it took almost an hour to get food out to us and all we ordered was a sandwich, chicken tenders and brussel sprouts. It wasn't even that busy but it took forever. I'll probably check it out again for a drink but skip the food, took too long and feels a bit over priced for what you're getting. read more

Never a good experience. Received a black chicken sandwich. Not blackened, just over fried. Disgusting. Second time, received a steak sandwich with chunks of over cooked meat and the most mild "horsey" sauce ever. Steak sandwiches should be steak slices and "horsey" sauce should be spicy. The service here is terrible. I thought my first time was a one off thing. It being confirmed a second time tells me all I need. They take up the first two bar spots with their own backpacks, purses, etc. and then when you have to ask for another beer (which I shouldn't have to) they scoff at you and say they will get to you in a moment.
