Duke's Seafood is the place to be for brunch in Seattle! It was busy when we arrived, which is always a good sign, but the food was worth it! Of course - we started with a dozen oysters, and the staff was kind enough to accommodate our off menu request for oyster shooters. If you're an oyster lover, definitely ask! The biggest surprise was the fish tacos - they're huge! The waiter said they would be 8 inches long, they weren't kidding lol I ordered the rockfish, and it was incredibly fresh, juicy, and packed with flavor. We also had a little 'dinghy' of clam chowder, which is their adorable mini serving! Honestly, it's one of the best clam chowders I've ever had. Even if you're ordering something else, get the dinghy so you don't get fomo. We chose to sit outside and enjoyed beautiful views of the sailboats while we ate, which made brunch scenic. This place is disgusting. The bathrooms litterally smell like puke. The staff is the epitome of Satrle Freeze but at a restaurant/bar. You get ignored and eye rolls. They will not check in on you. Food was a waste of money in that the quality was poor, it was nasty, greasy, and overpriced frozen aisle quality. My experience was miserable and to be honest I doubt the staff cares. starting off, i was pleasantly surprised by the portion of sourdough bread given prior to the meal - as I wasn't expecting that the bread wasn't anything special - but i did like the outside; found it to be pretty crispy. also, i liked the fact that they gave you butter as a dip, although it wasn't easy to spread it on the sourdough as it was just one big block i thought the main part of this dish, the salmon sliders, were quite good, however this came in three separate 'sliders', each with a base of rosemary bread, a sliced tomato, and a portion of salmon, topped with pesto the actual salmon itself was ok - personally i thought it was a bit stringy and chewy, but otherwise not bad. being brushed with oil certainly helped with the taste however, the other aspects of the slider were fantastic normally, i don't like tomatoes, but it fit really well with this dish. the flavor was there but not overpowering i also quite liked the pesto as a condiment - there was a solid amount on there - and it added a nutty texture that was good the best part of these sliders, however, was the rosemary bread. this was exquisitely good - it was crispy, herby, buttery, and served as an incredible base for the sandwich as a whole. i absolutely loved every bite of this the other thing that was a great touch was placing the sliders on the bottom of the bread rather than the 'more fluffy' side. this ensured that the bread wouldn't get soggy from the tomato/salmon and had it retain its crunchiness to the maximum three sliders was also a pretty good portion size another thing i enjoyed was the salad. a lot of places think that lots of dressing, often oil, is necessary to make a good salad, but this place managed to deliver something that tasted really good and had nice flavor with the use of little to no dressing. i'm impressed at the end of my meal, i got a carrot cake from the dessert menu this was decently sized, and the cream cheese frosting on this had a wonderful flavor i didn't taste the carrot as much in the inside of the cake, but i could tell it was still baked well, and the frosting added a great touch i would say its more of a cupcake than a cake, however i came during happy hour, so for the price of about $14, the sourdough bread + the salmon sliders were a pretty good value i can't say the same for the carrot cake - as while it was good - about 9 dollars is a little too expensive for that read more

Wow, what a wonderful deck outside to enjoy some great seafood on a beautiful day across the street from Green Lake i stopped in with my daughter and grandson and we were blown away by the experience. From the minute we arrived using the ADA entrance to the deck we were immediately greated and able to select a nice table with an umbrella in the shade on a nice summet day. And it only got better from that. Our waitress Quinn was so wonderful giving us plenty of time to select our dining options along with some wonderful suggestions. She recommended the risotto bites with lobster and they were, without a doubt, the best arancini I've ever had. I wasn't hungry but they were so great, I finished them off anyway. The stuffed salmon was phenomenal and the roasted potatoes were seasoned and cooked perfectly with a slight char on them. Everything we had was top notch and if Yelp had half stars, I would have given them 4.5 stars. And Quinn, if she's available, ask for her. My family loves this Duke's location in Greenlake. There's limited parking in the back, but honestly, parking can be tough anywhere in Seattle, so we don't mind. We come here a few times a year specifically for their happy hour - the prices are a bit higher than other spots, but you're paying for sustainably caught seafood, so it makes sense. This visit, we ordered a variety of happy hour items to share across the table: the crabby deviled eggs, crab cakes, salmon sliders, Manila clams, fried shrimp, calamari, and a side Caesar salad. Their complimentary sourdough bread basket is always a hit, too. The staff here is consistently friendly and welcoming, and the service is great every time. I've been wanting to try Duke's since I moved into the area, so my mom and I finally stopped by for an early dinner after walking around Green lake. We arrived during happy hour and decided to split two items- one off the happy hour menu and the other from the regular dinner menu- the Savory Chipotle Wild Salmon Sandwich and the Wild & Bleu Blackened Salmon Salad. The sandwich also came with sweet potato fries. When our meals were delivered, the server had already split the two dishes onto separate plates for each of us, which made it so much easier to share! Everything was absolutely delicious and the portions were generous. There are two options for seating, a indoor dining room or a large outdoor patio. We sat on the patio and it was lovely! Our server was also very friendly and attentive. Duke's is a bit pricey, but happy hour is a good way to try out the restaurant and save a little $$. No water or anything. I flagged down another server and she said she would find our server. Finally someone came with water and apologized for the wait bedside there was a shift change. There's not a lot of sit down restaurants open for lunch in the Greenlake / Phinney area, this is one of the few. Interior is a little dated and rustic but it was packed for lunch on a Friday. Most people sat in these wooden booths with 90 degree backs (not comfortable) but it gave nautical vibes. The lunch special was the best deal, $21 for a tiny chowder, small salad and salmon sandwich. Supposedly some good happy hour options at well. Most things on the menu in the $30-50 range if you don't do a lunch combo. Fish and chips $30....ouch. I will be back though, few options. This was an almost disaster that was saved by the Manager Lauren. We had 7 o'clock reservations but once we arrived they told us that the reservations were made too late and couldn't be honored even with confirmation. BUT there were immediate solutions offered. They called other restaurants and checked times at the current tables. We ended up sitting at the bar and not even five minutes later they gave us the only table available. The manager stayed past her shift to work our table. Any issue we had she resolved it immediately. We had such a great time and really enjoyed the food. We were even seating rough near the water outside. I didn't know we had to pay for parking but it wasn't super expensive. It seems they share a lot with a lot of other businesses. While visiting in WA state, a great friend decided we would do dinner at Duke's Seafood because I wanted fish. This restaurant is cozy. You don't have to be overly dressed and the menu is fantastic as far as options. We both decided on the stuffed halibut. Stuffed with shrimp and crab, the food did not disappoint. It was a hot day and I found myself dreaming of colder weather to repeat this. The seafood was generous and fresh. I made a mental note to order this instead of soup next time. The cod tacos were simply wholesome, fresh, healthy and a great option for daily eats. There wasn't a whole lot of taste to it and a matter of personal preference. I like fresh, plain and simple foods so it worked. If you like taste, I don't recommend ordering the tacos. Service was good and it was a nice and enjoyable meal in a great location. Came here to celebrate a friend's birthday! It had a great atmosphere since it is seafood themed. I was impressed by the service as well. Our host was helpful and everything went smoothly. My friend had a coupon she used to get a bottle of wine 50% off and then we also all got free dessert! That was a nice perk! For my entree I had the crabcakes, which were some of the best I ever had. They were mostly crab, like the name says. A little pricey but totally worth it! I also had some of the fried squid to start. Our very first time in Seattle. We just came back from the airport and needed a quick bite and we really wanted to try seafood. Jose was our server and man, he was AMAZING. He guided us through the menu since we never been here before and it was awesome. He's definitely one of the best service we ever had. The ambiance is so cozy, quiet place and love their background music. My husband had the salmon sandwich, I had the 3 course with cosmic salad which had blue cheese and usually I never eat that but this place's blue cheese was something else!!!!! So good! Duke's is Duke's is Duke's until it's not. The Green Lake location just has a different vibe. It's like a neighborhood hang. The staff there treats us well, and we kind of feel like regulars. When it's just the two of us, we like the bar area; but we have taken friends and family there and have enjoyed the dining room and patio as well. Things I love about Duke's: the steaming cup of chowder both outside on the roof and inside at my table. Don't just stop at the clam chowder. All of them are good. I love the bread, and I like my Manhattan there. Ironically, this seafood place has a great burger. I have found i enjoy the salmon and halibut entrees alot. We've always been able to get a table at Duke's - either inside or outside. My preferred seating is the booths. I never knew there was one small tiny table by the front door that only sits 2 and can barely fit more than 2 entree plates and 2 cups. We were first seated there last time when multiple booths were open all throughout the restaurant, including ones near occupied tables. Luckily, we were able to move to a larger booth because I knew we would need more table space. The service is always on point at this Duke's location. There were 2 separate large groups the last time I was there, which made the restaurant extremely noisy. Before then, I didn't realize how small the restaurant space is with how tightly they cram all the tables. The food is usually decent at Duke's, but not mind blowing. They're also on the pricier side. I understand the prices for anything with seafood, but the burgers are $22+ outside happy hour. The only item I've tried that I wouldn't order again is the crab cake because it was underwhelming. The sauces and aiolis used on multiple dishes are very tasty. They're usually generous with the sauce for the prawns del Cabo wabo, so I try to find some way to finish it all. It looks like the prawns have changed and might be smaller from previous years. They seem closer to shrimp. About the cod fish and chips: they come on a giant fish shaped plate, so I don't know how 2 plates plus drinks could fit on their smallest table. Their tartar sauce is delicious, and I could even eat just that on its own. The fries were crispy, but thick. I usually like thinner fries, but the crispiness made up for that. The forks at Duke's are much larger/longer than I'm used to, so it's hard to eat the coleslaw/salad in the tiny bowl. The tacos come on huge tortillas, so I usually end up having to eat with a fork until there's a little bit left. Otherwise, the tacos are messy to eat because there's so much on top. The green salsa that comes with the tacos is good, but not spicy. read more

This place is actually across the street from Green lake and not really by the water. If you're seated outside, you can see the park and lake from across the street. They do have a small parking lot behind the restaurant. We were lucky that someone pulled out when we got there. The inside was a bit crowded and loud. Not that we mind because our toddlers made contributions to the volume. The food was good. We tried the quad dinghy chowder samplers, but of course the award winning clam chowder was still the fave of all. I enjoyed the coco loco prawns and clam lover's steamed clams the best. I made a reservation in advance since I was traveling with a group for work. It was a pretty busy night for a Thursday night. It's got some old decor charm in it and super cute location. There is a lake near by so it would be nice to try it out in warmer weather to be able to sit on the patio. I couldn't decide what to get since there are soooo many options. I decided to get the Prawn, Scallop, and Uncake crab cake mixed grill. I wanted to also try the Award Winning Clam chowder so I got the dinghy size. Our server was super nice and quick. We got our food pretty quickly. They dropped off basket of warm sourdough bread! The dinghy is about a 2oz sample size of soup. It was perfect to not fill me up too much before my entree. The clam chowder is indeed delicious!! I almost regretted not just getting that in a bread ball. My mixed grill plate was a lot of food! The sides were asparagus and potato's. Everything was cooked well. I really enjoyed the crab "un"cake. It's called that due to having more crab than "cake." I definitely want to come back and have more clam chowder. I've been here before and enjoyed it! Same for this visit - I had the stuffed Dungeness crab Halibut. It was incredibly rich and cheesy - almost too much, which I felt distracted a bit from the fresh taste of the crab and fish. Super tender and even better when dipped into the creamy pesto sauce. The side broccolini seemed quickly blanched - I would have preferred a more roasted side of broccolini & potatoes, but they were both surprisingly sweet and good nonetheless. The fried salmon bites are amazing, especially in the fry sauce. The starter bread is hot right out of the oven, soft, and tasty. Very attentive and great service. Water always refilled and fun food recommendations. I wish that the entree was a little more perfect considering that this is a pretty pricey dinner - I spent about $75 for one entree and one appetizer. I had a lovely meal here recently on a gorgeous day. Very easy to reach from I-5 and a lovely patio adjacent to the Greenlake park's splash pool for kids - I wish we had brought a swimsuit for my son. Our table had fish, sandwiches, and pasta and we were all pleased with our meals. It didn't blow me away but I don't have any complaints about the food. The restaurant manager needs to give the servers a break though - almost everyone is out on the patio on a hot day and the servers are all in jeans and a black shirt sweating bullets. The seafood in the Cioppino was plentiful and fresh, but the broth was a bit bland and reminded me more of a vegetable soup than the Cioppino I've had in San Francisco. My wife really enjoyed her Stuffed Salmon, and our two friends were happy with their meals as well. For dessert, we shared the Marionberry Pie with ice cream. I'm not usually a dessert person, but this pie was mouthwateringly good--sweet, tart, and warm with just the right contrast from the cold ice cream. Definitely a highlight. This did not disappoint. We were in the area for a hiking trip and my friend asked what we wanted for dinner...when on the pacific coast, SEAFOOD!!! So she took us here. I got the Dungeness Crab Stuff Halibut and it was absolutely amazing! The creamy sauce that it was played atop was a perfect pair. It was served over baby potatoes and snap peas. I ate every bite! Dinner started with a fresh hand shaken margarita and their fresh sourdough bread (which is also amazing and you could easily fill up on that), then I followed it up with a Blood Orange Margarita.
