Expect fish & chips (with tax & tip) to run you about $20 in 2026, maybe a tad more. -The fish is SO GOOD, sometimes I just get 2 pieces with no sides -apart from tartar sauce, which is about $10. Umm, the breading has such crunch!! And the fish is moist... simply delicious!!! There's tables inside and out. Usually a breeze off the water in summer makes it comfortable. Plenty of parking, big lot. The staff is always welcoming & friendly. - Also, if it's "to go", they pack it very carefully. I do really WISH they stayed open later! We've eaten at Little Chinook's many, many times. When the weather is nice, sitting outside by the marina is always pleasant. Nothing fancy but good enough to take out of town visitors. They have two kinds of cod. I always forget the name of the cod I like but I know it's the more expensive one. Delicious! I particularly like that you can order extra pieces of fish and also add pieces of shrimp without having to order a whole meal. We don't want all those fries, as tasty as they are. You order at the counter and wait for them to call your name. There's usually a line. Prices are not cheap, but won't break the bank. My highest rating is not the number of stars I give. It's whether I will return for another meal. Can't eat fried food often but definitely will be back. read more

I heard about this place from my mom! She had came here recently with my dad and really wanted me to try it. We came down today, at the same time the Ballard Seafood Festival was happening. We didn't know where it was taking place per se and hoped it wouldn't detour our plans from coming here! It didn't :) and I must say, what a great addition to the Chinook restaurant. I haven't eaten at the restaurant myself but by far, loved this fast seafood joint! Service is amazing, they make you feel comfortable and I can tell that the team works really well together. If you have questions, they answer it without any problem. They ask if it's here or to-go and will call out your name for the order. My dad and I had the seafood combos with chips and my mom had the breaded oysters with chips. I had a taste of one of the oysters and they're fresh! Clam strips were good and I was very impressed by the prawns and true cod! The cod was breaded very well and crisp. The prawns were a good size and not too breaded. They do serve a lot of fries/chips with their meals and hoped there will be more seafood (my preference anyway). The staff does such a good job at making sure you have everything. Once you get your food, they have the drinks all lined up, along with coleslaw and condiments like tartar sauce and cocktail sauce. If you need extra things, straws, malt vinegar and ketchup are also lined up to take it if you need. I believe you need to ask for utensils if you need it. Not a lot of people today, and they have nice views of the marina, well...when it's a nice sunny day! We heard about Little Chinooks from locals in Magnolia so decided to give it a try on a Monday lunch. We ordered the Alaska True Cod and Chips. The dish comes with three large and GIRTHY pieces of cod, generously coated in a panko-breaded batter and fried to the definition of crispy golden brown. It also comes with fries, a side of poppyseed coleslaw, and tartar sauce. The cod itself was flaky and sweet without even a hint of fishiness, and I am very keen on picking up fishiness! I definitely thought it was fresh and high-quality fish. The panko-beaded batter was so crispy and crunchy that it would satiate any food ASMR lover's ears. The crispy batter exterior perfectly complemented the juicy fish interior. When dipped into the tartar sauce, I started grinning ear to ear just from how delicious it all was. The fries were well worth the extra starch and carb intake too, they were fried golden crispy while maintaining a soft interior and well seasoned with salt. The poppyseed slaw was interesting - I thought it was a little too sweet for my liking, but it provides the necessary sweetness and slight acidity to reset your palette from the fried fish and fries. Another aspect I liked was how hot everything came out, signifying it was made to order. Both the fish and fries were hot enough to burn my tongue upon the first heavenly bite, which is great but just be careful! Little Chinook's has been around well before I was a Yelper...cool spot to get decent food at Fishermen's Terminal off of Interbay in Magnolia. This was for a revisit on 3/8/21 just for fish and chips for lunch. I joined the masked, socially distanced line as part of the lunch rush. Easy peasy, placed my takeout order, brief wait, and then order in hand and back to my car. Items nicely packed along with tartar sauce, ketchup, coleslaw, utensils, and a napkin provided. Panko crusted trio of true cod filets with seasoned fries. Delicious, but my eyes were bigger than my stomach. Thankfully, The Homie (teenaged Hoover) polished off the rest brought home. Great food to have at Fishermen's Terminal, Magnolia Park, or pandemic dining in one's car or brought home. Quality provided but a bit pricey and comparable to similar orders from Ray's or Duke's. The food was so good! The salmon taco was so fresh and well cooked. The seasonal lemonade was sweet and tart and very summery. The chowder was very creamy and rich. The coleslaw was sweet and very fresh, not my favorite, but still good. The service was also pretty great! The server that took our order at the counter was new, so it was a bit slower ordering, but after that the food did come out very fast. But all the components of a perfect fish and chips meal were nailed by Little Chinook's! We were waiting in line to pick up fresh tuna from St. Jude's boat at the terminal and got fish and chips for the wait. EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT. crispy batter, flaky fish, moist but not greasy, crispy fries with soft insides that didn't get soggy over the period of time it took me to inhale my meal, very generous with the tartar sauce (I usually run out), and a lovely coleslaw!!!! I'm blown away!! I can't imagine how you could be closer to fresh fish. Even the pike place area is so popular I wonder if they get their fish from the piers. Standing in line was about 10 minutes or so, 3-4 groups ahead, and about 10 more minutes to get our food. For the base price with cod--you get 3 pieces of fish, fries, and coleslaw; it is such a good deal for the amount you get. We also sampled the clam chowder--thick creamy, and a good ratio of clams to potatoes to etc. This place is close enough that we could grab takeout from here in the future. A quintessential NW luxury is fish and chips and getting it here, literally off the boat is both a treat and a good meal all at the same time. Costs of food have increased dramatically everywhere and this is no exception here as well. Be prepared for a quick dinner for two depending on which fish choice you choose to spend a quick $50.00. However, keep in mind that you are getting extremely fresh fish that is breaded in panko and then deep fried for a quick crust that makes it the perfect compliment to the flakey delicious fish. Add some well seasoned and cooked fries, for me good not over dressed cabbage, and one of the very best chowders out there. I know, there will be a ton of comments and debate about chowder, one of these things that happens, but I do feel that this is one of the better options out there. With the delicious chunks of clams all throughout this chowder, it really is a great choice. Keep in mind that there are three differing sizes of chowder, so you can go for a quick bite, or feed a family of four off the quart of chowder. There are plenty of places to sit and watch the world go by, a great place to sight see the terminal and get your fish and chips on. I love this place, it's fast and convenient. The service is great. The seafood is fresh. I get the seafood combo literally every time, the shrimps are lovely,, the clams are great. Sometimes I add a salmon, and it's delicious too. However. The fries, otherwise known as 'chips', are not good. They're straight out of a frozen Sysco box or whatever. They're terrible. First off, their white clam chowder was really good and I appreciate a place that also offers Manhattan style red chowder. When our food arrived, it looked great. All of the seafood was cooked really nicely here, not dried out at all, even the clam strips Which can be hard to cook evenly. As we ate, there is a pleasant view of the boats and swooping seagulls in the background. A great spot; with good seafood, helpful service and stunning views.
