Look, when we pulled up and I saw the name Dukes... I chuckled and thought, oh boy, this'll be fun(insert sarcasm). All I knew was, we were going to eat Thai for lunch. So before we even opened the doors, I already liked the place. I forgot to snap a pic of it, but a hot pepper plant was growing in a planter. It had plenty of beautiful peppers all ready to be harvested too. The restaurant was small. There are 4 tables that can seat 4 people. Their drinks are in plastic bottles in the fridge. They do offer hot tea and coffee. My husband and I ordered the Thai Tea and it was delicious. I ordered the bang bang chicken lunch special and my husband had the Thai beef salad. We cleaned our plates! That chicken was fried perfectly and the bang bang sauce can be put on anything and it will make it good. The chicken was juicy too. Our meals also came with a fried spring roll. I can eat those things all day long! Yum The little Thai lady that works there, she makes all of their sauces. I want to try all of them! Lol. I highly recommend this place. I'm sorry Duke for doubting your food based on your restaurant's name because I'm telling everyone where to go for some delicious Thai food. Small space but huge portions! There are only a few tables in the restaurant, but it is nice and clean! Food came out hot and the portions are enormous. I ordered the bang bang chicken lunch special and did fried rice instead of white rice. The lunch special changes each day. ($10.99 with an up charge for fried rice instead of white). The people and service are great. They really are. The food though is not your average Thai food. It's not bad food, it's just not quite the same. The pad Thai was good, but it was missing that sweet/spicy sauce you typically find in the pad Thai. The fries rice was a highlight of the meal. It was cooked better than most Asian restaurants. The wings were not bad either. The spring rolls are good, but they were missing a good bit of pork. It was a little piece here and there. Essentially vegetable spring rolls with a splash of pork. That's not to say that the food isn't good. It's just that it is not on par when compared to other Thai restaurants. It's Americanized Thai food. I would give it a second try to try something else, like drunken noodles or Tom Yum, but it will be a while before I do go back. read more

Super friendly old man who is fun to talk to. His wife is from Thailand and does the cooking. The food was good, but nothing memorable in terms of the best I ever had. It is a little pricey also for the serving sizes. For beverages, there is bottles and cans. No soda fountain or tap water. There are a few seats inside to accommodate a few tables, but nothing massive for large parties. Overall, the food is good but it's not the best pad Thai I've ever had. read more

This was not a good experience for me. My son and I chose to eat here to try something different. The food had such an overpowering peanut sauce taste. The place is really small and locally owned and the service was great. I really appreciate the service. But wow if all their food is like that I don't how long they will survive. read more

Fantastic food and service! First timer here and I will definitely be back! We ordered the crab rangoon as an appetizer and they were cooked to perfection...much different though than what I was accustomed to at other Asian spots. For my lunch I got the Hot Basil Stir Fry with beef and fried rice instead of the steamed rice. So full of flavor. A very generous portion of some of the best fried rice I have ever had! The beef was cooked amazingly with the mushrooms and hot peppers...this is a fantastic meal, the heat hits you and stays with you throughout the whole meal - PERFECT. My friend ordered the Bang Bang Chicken with fried rice as well. He really liked his and said that it was really good. Crispy chicken coated in a delicious sauce. The ambiance is what I expect at place like this, but these little spots are generally so much better than the places that really think they have their stuff together with lots of stuff to look at. The gentleman serving us, I presume it was Duke himself, was terrific. He was on top of everything and just a nice guy. I can't say anything but great things when it comes to this place. The owners are so sweet and make sure you have a great experience. My husband and I shared a bang bang shrimp as an appetizer and it was so tangy and flavorful, we debated getting another . He ordered the green chicken curry and the flavor of the curry was some of the best I've had. I ordered the drunken noodles with chicken and there was such rich flavor in it all. Apps include spring rolls, wontons, Bang Bang Chicken or Shrimp, etc. For those in your group preferring American fare, the menu includes burgers, chicken tenders, sandwiches, fries and such. Highly recommend the dine-in experience for your first sample. Duke and her (yes, her) staff are super friendly and eager to ensure your meal is prepared to your liking. On our first visit, the delicious Chicken Pad Thai did not fit the stereotypical taste profile. It was exceptionally fresh. The Tom Yum Chicken and Shrimp was a very large portion, packed with flavor, thanks in part to the lemon grass, Thai seasoning, lime juice and mushrooms. The folks who used to run Duke's Diner on Kraft St. have opened this new place on Madison, in the Hananoki Plaza next to Food Lion. It seems to be primarily a "take out" place, but there are a few tables for those who prefer to dine in. It's a bit hard to find, tucked away near the back of the strip mall, but worth the effort. I've eaten there twice in the last week. Both times the food was excellent and it came out hot, fresh, and delicious. Portions are generous, so you may have to take some home for another meal. At least I thought I had dinner for tonight, but my wife, also a Thai junkie, called dibs on my leftovers and took it with her for her 12-hour shift at the hospital. Oh, well. I can always go get more Thai, but wives are harder to replace so I'll just let it slide. read more

Undercooked food meets low quality utensils inside an tiny venue, and the food doesn't taste anything like the Thai food I've eaten for 28 years. Very limited menu, they've messed up my order multiple times and on average it'll take them 20 minutes to prepare a lunch menu item. The chicken satay had been reheated in the microwave. The salad served with the dish looked like the greens were old and mushy. Food served in to go boxes for dine in with plastic utensils-made it a little difficult to cut up the chicken. Customer service was nice. read more

My first time coming was like 10 minutes ago. I stopped by to get some lunch, and I got the Pad Thai. The guy working at the register was super nice, and the food came out pretty fast. The pad Thai was 10/10, I always have to add a ton of sriracha to my pad Thai because nobody makes it spicy enough. This pad Thai is fire, it's so spicy and delicious.
