It has become extremely difficult to schedule appointments with Dr. Hinkle or Dr. Boyle. After waiting weeks, we've arrived for appointments only to be told they were canceled without notice. Additionally, the front office staff is often rude and make simple questions feel like an inconvenience. The newer staff responsible for fitting glasses also do not seem to take the time to properly ensure a correct fit. This has been very disappointing given the level of care we experienced in the past. Unfortunately, today was the tipping point and we will not be back.

I was able to make a same day appointment. When I arrived, I found the location was was clean and well stocked. Melissa at reception checked me in and dealt with my insurance company mess up, which was not her fault but she was a pro and super kind and helpful. Then Dr Chuh saw me and was fantastic. He took the time to listen to my concerns and provide thoughtful advice after assuring me that everything was ok (reading my test results). Compared to other medical offices, where check-ups feel routine, meeting with Dr. Sutaria for an eye appointment seems like visiting a close friend, due to how inviting her personality is! A couple of times, when my eye was irritated, she would create space in her schedule to check me up immediately, even if it involved a very tight schedule. Additionally, due to certain factors related to my eyes, I had much trouble, in the beginning, fitting Ortho K lenses. Still, Dr. Sutaria persisted and kept accommodating until the treatment was very comfortable for me, not settling for anything less than the best for me. My brother also received his own specialized treatment, which had really amazing results. Overall, the experience my family and I have at Insight Eye Optique is phenomenal (11/10!), and I definitely would recommend Dr. Sutaria to everyone, whether it's for routine annual eye-check ups, or specialized programs (such as the Ortho K lenses and myopia management)!

So of course I did my annual eye exam in 2019 with OptimEYES and received the same treatment I did the year before. Who knew an eye exam could be easy and flawless? I also needed new glass frames and Antonio swooped in and helped me pick out a pair that was stylish and comfortable. His patience and explanation of frames made the process stress-free. He took his time to examine my eyes and did some exams that other doctors had never done (such as taking a picture of the inside of my retina to see the back of the eye and its nerve, for example). It also had been super easy to get an appointment quickly as a new patient. The office staff is super helpful and very friendly. The optician was helpful with showing me all the different glasses they have in their shop, and none of the staff members were pushy about me having to buy the glasses there. They have a big selection of different styles. If you can't find what you're looking for, they offer to look things up for you or they give you the prescription so you can buy the glasses and/or contacts somewhere else. Great doctor, great office! So happy I have found them.

Decided to give it a try because everyone has different experiences. Overall, I would say that my family had a great experience with our eye exams, very thorough and efficient. I would rate the doctor as 5 star. The front desk people are not great and maybe I just also had bad luck with them. Our first time as a family here and found that I had to make call multiple times to get a call back, they do not respond to text message (though they direct you to use text) and seemed unfamiliar with insurance/unwilling to figure it out. Dr. Kim-Eye Institute of Reston…read more I had an extremely frustrating experience with Dr. Kim at Eye Institute of Reston, VA, and would not recommend them to anyone looking for quality eye care. From the start, my eye exam felt rushed. When I struggled to see the letters clearly, the doctor switched to shapes instead of taking the time to ensure an accurate prescription. After the exam, she had me try on the prescribed contact lenses, but I couldn't see well with them. Instead of adjusting the prescription, she decided to keep it the same as what I walked in with. Another challenge was the eye machine used for the exam--it kept fogging up, and the doctor repeatedly wiped it off with a cloth. This happened during both of my visits. I asked about it the second time, and she told me to try breathing through my nose. I also inquired as to whether warm temperature in the office could be causing the fogging, and she responded, "I guess." The equipment looked more like a temporary plastic station rather than high-tech machinery, and I've never had this issue at other optometrist offices. When I picked up my glasses, I immediately noticed something was off, almost like a smudge. I voiced my concerns, but was advised to try them for a couple of weeks. After struggling with them, I returned for another exam, but the doctor still couldn't get my prescription right. At that point, she mentioned cataracts, which had never been brought up before, and referred me to a specialist. When I asked to return the glasses since I couldn't see properly, I was told they have a no-return policy, even though they failed to provide me with functional eyewear. I left messages requesting a resolution, but no one ever called me back. I spent a significant amount of money on glasses that I cannot use, and the lack of professionalism and care at this office is unacceptable. If you value your vision and customer service, I strongly recommend going elsewhere.

I saw Brian Quinn, Licensed Optician, at the Reston NVDO location to get my new glasses adjusted. I…read morehad purchased them at a different NVDO location but after about a dozen trips to that location to get adjustments done, I decided to try the Reston office instead. Brian listened to me as I explained my ordeal. Every time I thought the glasses were adjusted okay at the original shop, after wearing them I had issues with the nose pieces, the ear pieces, and the non-horizontal fit (sitting crooked on my face). Brian fixed everything. I've been wearing the new glasses and they fit great. Brian is a fantastic optician, in my opinion he's worth a million gold stars. Thank you Mr. Quinn!
