This place is seriously the BEST place for kabobs in the area. Move over, Reston Kabob. The portions are quality here of the food at Dulles Kabob are far superior. I usually don't give out 5-stars so easily, but the fact that the size of the food was super large, flavorful, and filling, and the ground beef platter was only $9.99 made this a must-try. The platter comes with one juicy ground beef kebab, a "side" salad, 2 different kinds of rice, AND a big piece of bread. I was able to substitute at no charge one of the rices for a side of chickpeas because I was really craving them. The chickpeas came in a bowl, and was a big portion. I shared with my bf, and we could barely finish it. I substituted out the brown rice, and kept the white rice, but next time I know to keep the brown rice. I tried my bf's and it was delicious and way more flavorful. The "side" salad was seriously half the huge platter, and full of healthy super greens like kale, mixed lettuces, etc. I was super impressed and happy, because all the other kabob places give you A SINGLE TOMATO and a strip of lettuce and call that salad. Also: the Gyro platter was huge as well. My bf eats a lot, and he couldn't finish it. The gyro meat is plentiful and crispy! TRUST me. The friendly service, portions, and quality of the food here are out of the ballpark. No other kabob place is going to top Dulles Kabob for a long time. read more

Dulles Kabob offers good tasting kabob that can satisfy a customer. They have lot of customers driving in and carrying out at all times. Unlike some other Afghan places, they have large seating area. I love their gyro. They serve halal. However, price is on the high side. They do not offer any free sides like chick peas or spinach, they cost eyebrow raising money. This is the best kabob place that I've tried out here in the Dulles area. I ordered the chicken kabob platter. You get A TON of food for the standard rate of ten bucks and some change. The chicken was pretty delicious. It was super tender and had the right amount of spice and flavor. The pile of rice was really tasty and buttery just the way I like it. The part that I wasn't so much in favor of was the salad which had big chunks of lettuce and cucumbers and tomatoes. It's a tad hard to eat. On top of that, it was wilted by that tasty hot delicious chicken. So you're probably asking yourself why the lower rating for such good food. Well, I tend to be a bit harsh when it comes to the dine-in experience. At first glance, the place is pretty clean. They have a lot of tables to choose from. In the back right they have the condiments area and soda machines. It looks almost like a standalone kitchen area sans sink and stove. It's a little odd look in my opinion. They also have a darker, more intimate area in the back left of the restaurant. They give you two pumps for the (white and spicy green) sauce at the condiments area. The good thing about this is unlimited refills on the sauces. The bad part is that they just sit out. I thought those things were supposed to be refrigerated(?). The green spicy sauce pump was broken so I didn't get the chance to sample it. The white sauce was pretty tasty. Cleanliness: It was not as clean as I would have liked. I noticed a lot of mold in the ice chute of the drink fountain. That's gross. I also thought the bathroom could have used a lot more TLC. The soap dispenser was even dirty. This afghani restaurant is definitely a hidden gem in the great town of Sterling. This is the best Afghani place in the area, much better than grill kabob and Moby Dicks. Their beef koobideh was really juicy and delicious, plus full of flavor ( something that I'm attached to in the food world due to my Pakistani origins). Their rice was flavorful and the bread was hot and fresh. The chicken was soft and moist. However, they need to work on their chickpeas; it lacked flavor. I also liked how they had refill bottles for white and green sauces. Many other afghani places charge extra for that and are stingy with that. Not this place! The seating is very spacious as well. Sauces! That yummy green sauce--what the heck is it called--is not portioned out in tiny cups as with some kabab places in the area. They've got it on tap here in big squirt bottles. Dulles Kabob portions are huge, and their kabob/gyro quality is top-notch. Normally they are a little on the high end of what I'd normally pay to grab a bite, but Tuesday gyro specials knock the price down to "incredible value" levels. Regardless, on special or not, their food is worth every penny. Both beef and chicken kobeeda wraps are awesome, and well mixed with a lot of flavorful spices. I'm pretty sure they use a fatty ratio of ground beef, because it comes out literally bursting with delicious meaty juices... Healthy? No. Delicious? HECK YEAH. Be prepared for your order to take 5-10 minutes longer to come out than any gyro orders, though. The expansion is nice, it's much less cramped now and is a great place for lunch groups. Service is fine - but it's a counter walk-up, so interaction is pretty minimal. Many days the line can get pretty extensive, so if you've got a large group for lunch, it's best to get there by 11:30 or so. For that reason, it's also good to call ahead for pickup orders. All of the kabob wraps are great, and both white and green sauces are dangerously addictive. I'm not sold on the extra value of getting the kabob platters, you get rice and a salad, but I think basically the same stuff as when you get a wrap (and there are salad greens in the wraps), only presented on a plate versus rolled up. (Exception: if you get the super mega combination platter that has multiple meats, etc.... massive amount of food) Pass on the samosas and chick peas, save room and eat the whole damn wrap. Pretty decent kabob place. I got a combination platter of the lamb and chicken kabob. I really enjoyed the lamb a lot. Very flavorful and juicy. Probably some of the best lamb kabob I've had in the States. The chicken was decent. Not a ton of flavor, but alright. The tzatziki is a little spicier than usually prepared, but really great, and they have it in dispensers for you to take as much as you want! I was less than impressed with the chickpeas. They were more soupy than I like. They give a mix of brown and white rice, which was fine. My friend got the koobideh (ground beef) kabob and she said she likes it better than Kabob Palace in Crystal City, but I still hold Kabob Palace as being the superior kabob shop in the DMV. read more

I used to think Moby Dick was pretty good until I tried Dulles Kabob and realized how commercialized MD is compared to this place. Nothing compares to the quality of the meat, the quantity of food that they give and the fluffiness of the bread here. I can't ever finish a platter in one sitting - I always have leftovers to take for lunch the next day and I couldn't be happier because it tastes just as good when reheated. One of the best kabob places in the area. The kabobs and gyros are so flavorful and fresh. The quantity is excellent and the prices are below average prices in the area. If you ever want to taste great beef and chicken kabobs, this is the place to go. Previously, for me, it was a tie between Reston Kabob and Dulles Kabob, but with Reston Kabob closing down, this place is the clear winner. Rice is very flavorful. Best kabobs for the price and portion. I recommend ordering the gyros which are packed and huge or the gyro platter (kofta platter and chicken platter are good too). The tzatziki sauce is more of a mayo sauce then cucumber and yogurt but is really good. The green sauce is great too (jalapeño and cilantro). Pretty cool how they make the naan slapping it on the sides of a huge cauldron giving it a nice char and perfect chewiness. Overall great food and good service. read more

The chicken is moist and it's never been dry as I have had at some other places. It's located in a secluded shopping center off of 606 and you can't miss it from the road. This place used to be amazing!! Hadn't been there in a year. I ordered to go and gave a 30% tip expecting the same amazing quality. Jokes on me. Rice portions much smaller, the pita bread that used to be soft and pillowy and fresh was thin and hard and stale. Clearly couldn't take the time to make fresh bread. At least the meat was fresh and as amazing as it used to be, but that's one item out of six that I ate. Worst service and deserves negative stars. So there's only one guy behind the front counter. I walk up to the counter and patiently wait for him as he doesn't even acknowledge me for a few minutes. No "hi!" No "I'll be right with you." He just doesn't acknowledge me at all. After a few minutes, another couple walks in the door behind me. He immediately turns to them, looks right past me, and takes their order. As if I didn't even exist. I'm not tiny. There's no way he didn't know I was there. He clearly knew the other people. I used to be a fan of this place. Now, I'll tell everyone I know they should do business with a restaurant who treats you like a customer. I was so annoyed, I literally said "that's alright -- it's not like I was waiting in line," as I walked out the door. He didn't care. Didn't apologize. Didn't give a darn. Wow. We went to this place after a friend of ours recommended it. Our experience was a perfect example of how a place serving good food could mess up big time on service. I went there with my wife and two kids around 8.15 p.m. The place closes at 9.00 p.m. We ordered the food and they told us the kitchen was closing soon so we need to order everything - which we did. We got done eating before 9.00 but my kids were still eating. They started cleaning up the dining area and asked us to finish up since they need to close the place. I told them that kids would take their time to eat and they need to wait till they are done. I believe the two people manning the place where workers (not owners) because they said that owner only pays them till 9.00 p.m. so they can't wait. I asked to talk to the owner but I could not get to him. I have to admit that the food was good. We ordered chicken kabob and it was tender and fresh. Unfortunately, after this incident I am no mood to go back there. I want to have meals with my family in peace and don't like to be rushed! We visited this place a second time less then a month ago around lunch time during the weekday. A lot has changed. The food was not even close to what we had before!! The rice was so generic and bland that I wish I could eat the words I wrote before. It was nothing like the hot, steaming authentic Afghan rice I had the luxury of having at this place before. It was totally inferior - the rice grain, the rice taste / recipe, it was completely subpar. They obviously initiated shortcuts or changed cooks or cut costs. Big red flag. The kabobs? The boneless chicken kabobs I ordered were smaller and not anything like the juicy, plump, large chunks I recieved before - but still tasty. Nothing to write home nor a knockout on my plate about but pretty good. I ate all of them. The salad had improved in quality but it was still the same side of greens with a yogurt type ranch dressing over it. Just bleh. You could totally not eat it and not notice you had missed it. The bread was ok - evenly cooked, round, white, not tandoori oven baked with ridges like authentic kabob places have, but eatable. So not as great as before. When the food is not consistent, something is wrong. Not worth my $20 bill. So I am back in the market for finding that awesome kabob place in the Dulles area. . . so far, there is nothing like Food Corner Kabob in Springfield. read more

They've changed their signs to accomodate more combinations than just the usual meat selection. Gyro is pretty big, an elongated version of their bread with some lettuce and two half-slices of tomato for the shaved meat to nestle in. Not sure if they're still doing the punchcard offer but they certainly aren't advertising from behind the counter, and no longer have them lying about. I had to ask for the fountain soda that's advertised in the window as free with gyro; Dr. Pepper was a little flat but it isn't usually. Service is polite, the guy was amused to watch me try the bottled doogh. Baklava isn't really worth it, heavy and sweet but otherwise forgettable. Meat was moist, mild in flavor. Chickpeas were peppery and al dente, but not bad. Far cry better than the spinach, which is over-seasoned with finely ground black pepper to the point where you can't even taste the vegetable anymore. I ended up mixing the yogurt and green sauce in with the remaining chickpea sauce as a dip for my gyro. In platter form you get almost double the gyro meat, pre-drizzled in tzatziki sauce. read more

I've been coming to Dulles Kabob about once a week for a year now. It is the go-to lunch place for several of us who work nearby. Prices are appropriate. If you want something cheap and quick, get anything with gyro meat. If can wait 10 minutes and aren't on a budget, get the lamb. If you are looking for a great gyro that will fill you up head down to dulles. If i was rating this kabob house based on the kabobs I would give it 2.
