It's unfortunate to have a store with so much inventory and selection yet give the worst customer experience. I wanted to try some workout clothes on and asked for a fitting room. The employee acted confused and it seemed I was bothering him. He talked on a radio to someone, led me partway through the store, then told me that I could only try on three things. Absolutely disgusted with Dunhams in Cleveland Tennessee. Worst I've ever been treated by employees and the management. I paid for my things and everything we tried through. The cashier grabbed my things and said I had to pay again. I pull up my bank statement on my phone and showed him and his manager that it went through.i wasn't going to pay twice like once before and have to wait 6 weeks for the dubble charge to be credited back. So I refuse to pay twice. Then was told loudly that I wasn't taking my things I just bought. And was made leave the store. So they technically robbed me of money and made me leave. I'm going to have to file a report through my bank and the police to get my money back. I will never step foot into a Dunhams again. read more

Went in looking for something specific and asked an employee for help, he was rude and said he would find someone to help but no one ever came over. Store is a mess. Things on the floor, boxes strewn about. No one is enforcing mask wearing, most customers were maskless. read more

Dunham's is fine. However, the firearms employee sounded audibly annoyed on the phone and basically hung up on me after I called to ask a very simple, basic question. I understand that hearing the same questions over and over may be annoying, but this employee is the sole reason why I won't be spending money at Dunham's anymore. I've frequented this location since I was younger than 10 years old. Accurate Firearms in Waterford has much better customer service, I would suggest going there instead. read more

This store is an unfortunate joke and has been for YEARS. I just don't understand how they are still in business. Went in yesterday for a simple purchase, which I managed to locate and make without assistance. Thank goodness, because other than the 2 kids at the register, the only other employee was a guy trying to upsell some clueless lady on golf balls she didn't need. The aisles were full of half-unpacked boxes of stock. Carpet and shelves unclean. While in line at the register 1 cashier got a call asking if they sold duct tape. She yelled to the other cashier and asked him, to which he replied "probably, but just tell them no so they go away". In front of at least 3 customers in line waiting to pay. Then he goes on to gripe," Why can't people just stay home. They always come up with the stupidest questions.". Sadly, my next stop was a half mile away and I found the same product for less money. Needless to say, this was the first time in a long time I have been to this Dunhams, and it will be my last. read more

I hate to say this, but I honestly can't stand this place. Their inventory is ok at best, but that's not the issue for me. The customer service is horrendous, and nonexistent. Find something you want to try on? Good luck finding someone to unlock the dressing room. I mean, don't they want me to buy something? If you happen to find something worth buying, be prepared to wait a long time at the register. I have no idea how it takes so long to check a customer out for a simple transaction. One time I had a return and they asked for my license and the guy literally read my name and address OUT LOUD as he typed it in the computer-and there was (of course) a line of people waiting behind me. I'm just not ok with that. There was one thing that upset me the most about this place. I was checking out and my four year old daughter literally started crying because she had to go to the bathroom so bad. I asked the cashier if there was a bathroom and he shrugged his shoulders and said "yeah, but it's locked." My daughter was literally in tears, I am a paying customer, and this lazy jackass couldn't unlock the damn bathroom door for a four year old?!? I told him forget about it for my purchase and took her next door to the Dollar Tree where they offer a bathroom for their customers! I have said many times that I will never be back and kept returning-after that I can say I will never step in that store again. The only reason they are in business is because there isn't another sporting goods store within 10 miles. read more

Deserves zero stars & based off most of these reviews the feeling is mutual. Was ready to spend a lot on 2 kayaks but the help decided to give us an attitude instead of help. Agree with prior post. This is one of the worst stores I have ever been too. The customer service is terrible. You will always wait -- even if your the only customer in the store. Once the cashier is done stocking inventory, she will eventually come over to the register. It will take her time to sign in and then all the personal questions start: what's your phone number, what's your email, do you want a rewards card, do you want coupons, ect.......NO! NO! NO! I WANT TO CHECK-OUT AND LEAVE. If there are a few customers in line, plan on waiting 20 minutes or more before you check out. It's pathetic. read more

I go here because I do not have an alternative. The aisles are crowded, the people pushy...no you do not need my phone number and no you do not need my address. A simple no thank you after asking would be great. I had to buy some T-ball things for my two little boys so we went to Dunham's in Lake Orion. It felt like chaos in there. There was a limited selection, Meijers has a bigger selection... We couldn't find the pee wee cups so we asked for some assistance and were told someone would be back to help, no one came. We ended up finding the pee wee cups but they were not with the other cups. We ended up ordering helmets from somewhere else. My husband went to the Waterford Dunham's after work one day and said it was completely different than the lake Orion one. Larger selection, more organized and much more helpful staff. We won't be going back to the Lake Orion Dunham's it was really just a waste of time. It would have been more productive to drive to the Waterford Dunham's. Also the Lake Orion Dunham's bathroom is locked you have to get an associate to unlock it, good luck with that. read more

It's all true, even now. No customer service at all. Still have to wait 20 minutes to check out even if you're only one person back in line. The employees are incompetent and they lazily wander around the store. I recently tried to buy a jersey off of the top rack (near the ceiling hanging on the wall). It took. 30 minutes for this pathetic employee to figure out how to get it down. I would understand if they were new, but I've seen this person at the store for at least a year or two. They should know how to make his happen by now. So after the long struggle to get the Jersey down, I got in line to check out. I was 3 people back. 30 minutes later we only moved up once. I put the jersey down where I stood and walked out. I'm not joking when I say I was in there literally for 1 hour to buy 1 stupid Jersey. After all of that, I didn't even get it. I wasn't willing to wait another 30 minutes. Dunhams! You need to fire all the employees in that store including the managers! Spend a little money on employee salaries and hire some people that are competent. You should be ashamed of the employees and they should be ashamed of themselves. I'd rather stick pins in my eyes than have to walk back in there. read more

Sorry those other people had such a bad experience. I like this store. I buy stuff here all the time. I bought a treadmill this Christmas and the store staff was helpful and even located the model I wanted in a different store so I could get it right away. I don't like the market spiel either, but you get it everywhere these days so no sense taking out on store employees. Even when I shop on line I get unwanted emails and requests to sign up for special and promotions. It's the new age of marketing - you're a market of one - it sucks, but get over it. The sale prices have brought me in and the fact that there is not many other local alternatives. That alone is not enough anymore. Not recommend using this store if you are looking for shoes. They have an evening shoe manager there that is rude, ignorant of stock, and likes to argue with customers,. My wife called last night to have a pair of metal softball cleats held until I could get there. When I got there I found out they were plastic. No harm mistake made don't know where maybe my wife was not clear. They call young lady up to go look for the metal cleats I needed. In the 5 to 10 minutes that she was gone I chatted with the sales clerk at the register everything was fine. The next thing I know an older woman identified as a manager of some type told me in a very loud voice that they had NEVER carried women's metal cleats. She was wrong I bought them there before and let her know that. Again she repeated we've never had them. At that point I asked her why it was in her best interest to argue with me. I was not upset until she came up and created a problem volume was sufficient for probably half the people in the store to hear.
