June 1, 2025 time to update my review as this Duncan has learned its lessons! Today I came in and found the place, jumping with customers everyone ordering their favorite coffees and donuts and various sandwiches. The place was very busy. I was greeted by a young server, who is very friendly and attentive to me when I needed a dozen donuts, all different varieties for a bunch of children. We were there at about 3:30 pm on a Wednesday. Tara served us the best iced coffee and hot coffee we've ever received at a DD. She melted the sugar for the iced coffee which is EXACTLY HOW it should be done! Nobody wants a straw full of sugar on the first sip because it all settled to the bottom. Tara's service was wonderful! She was cheerful and genuinely cared that our order was tasty. read more

Rude staff from the manager on down. 3 times Ive either witnessed staff being rude and curt to customers, or experienced it myself. There's a pattern of behavior that lends itself to creating an atmosphere of "dont like it, go somewhere else", that seems to be standard operating procedure at this location, including the some of the managent staff. Dunkins uses private investigative firms to scrutinize franchises whose reported earnings dont jive with the known volume of traffic in that store...Watching for "open drawer" periods, cash sales to customers like canteen trucks, offices, and the like, and not running those funds thru the register or the books. They also examine the routines of the employees, ( their appearance, demeanor, interaction with the customers and each other, and so on.. ), cleanliness of public areas and restrooms. Skimming of cash, and so on.... How do I know this? Because at one time, I was part of an agency who contracted with DD corporate to investigate and monitor franchise locations that came into question, from New England all the way to Florida... Ive seen franchises taken away from the owners, who were compensated for the franchise at it's REPORTED value, (based on the books kept), which was less than true value, obviously, because it did'nt include the unreported sales . It's written into the franchise guidlines allowing corporate to do so.... EASILY the worst overall experience I've had at any location. If I were the owner(s), I'd do what it takes immediately to ensure that the experience all customers have at their location is a good one; everytime... I'll not go there again, and neither can I, in good faith, recommend it to anyone. D read more

Bro if I was starving I wouldn't even eat this Dunkin's trash dude they're so bad here they got food coming out cold drinks with syrup stuck at the bottom bacon coming out translucent and uncooked burnt croissants and to top it off the manager is a complete C word who does not care about respecting customers!!!! This place is awful. They always put whipped cream on my drinks when I ask for none because it is an allergy, then they try to wipe it off the top and give it back to me. Awful service, so so rude to customers, have no care in the world about if the food is good, or drinks are correct. Absolutely disgusting. Ive been living in Alton for almost a year now and EVERY time I or my boyfriend goes through for my order is is ALWAYS WRONG! I either get the wrong meat on my wake up wraps or i dont get cream cheese with my bagel or my drinks are FULLY FILLED WITH ICE and I take 4 sips and my LARGE drink is gone. I'd just wish they respected the customers a little more too, where many times I've been given attitude for modifying my order or etc. Just overall one of the worst Dunkin's Ive ever ordered from. 2/10 read more

If you like your bacon crispy (or just edible) or your food warm, don't go here. I asked for my bacon extra crispy on my sandwich and it came out still floppy and translucent, I didn't even bother asking for them to cook it more so I just payed for an order of just bacon and asked for that one to please be crispy. They told me okay and it wasn't again, they proceeded to tell me they are "not allowed" to make my bacon any crispier(while it's still floppy). I asked for a refund because I can't even eat my food and the manager was rude and continued to argue to me that the bacon she made is crispy. On our way home from hiking we were very hungry and just wanted a coffee and something to eat. It took way too long to be addressed in the drive through, we then ordered 2 black pepper sandwiches and the guy taking our order proceeded to say they didn't have any black pepper bacon so we asked for two regular bacon and cheese snack wraps. we then ordered two coffees, a regular iced coffee extra extra and a small mocha with skim and they both didn't taste decent at all and the "snack wraps" we got were strips of black pepper bacon in a bag (after they told us they didn't have any and that is NOT what we ordered) what a joke. read more

I have been to many Dunkin' Donuts on the east coast. this has to be the worse one yet! the line for the drive Thu was wrapped around the building. so, I went in I had four people in front of me. took 15 min to get to the counter. ordered two drinks. I waited with nine to ten people whom also waited 30 to 40 min for our orders. one girl was making drinks. the manager was doing breakfast sandwiches. 4 other young people were behind the counter. it was plan to see that they had no or very little training. they were going in circles! the one girl making drinks was so busy talking and held up all the stickers that go on the drinks and said, wOw! then proceeded to put them on cups. one gentleman and I noticed she wasn't going in order ! and we asked her to please go back and do them as we had ordered and people coming in were getting theirs first. she had no clue! This store needs to be closed until they can run smoothly! The manager was so busy making sandwiches she had no idea what was going on. She just said to one employee. Just take one at a time. I think she was babysitting! It's too bad with a worker shortage that this is ruining the business! I finally got one drink And left after 40 min without the other!‍ read more

The over paid children working at this store are more concerned about their video game conversations instead of making my sandwich correctly (turkey sausage, egg, NO cheese). I got turkey sausage & cheese. NO egg! They did not remake my sandwich, instead they just put the egg in the original sandwich and returned it in the original package. They also couldn't get my drink right. Peanut Butter Macchiato with 2 cream / 2 Splenda. I got NO cream. Avoid this place unless you enjoy being served by kids who could care less about customer service. read more

World's slowest drive thru. Was only one in drive thru. Needed to wait 5 minutes to be addressed then waited at window another 5 minutes for a large hot black! No apologies. No exaggeration. If I wasn't desperate for my coffee before my commute I would have moved along. read more

Being that there isn't much up here in Alton, Dunkin Donuts used to have no competition and just be a traffic jam everyday. Every morning, I would make the two minute trip down to this DD to find the line for the drive thru going out the parking lot, and other cars struggling to even be able to get out of the lot. Now, they have completely changed the layout of the entire parking lot, and expanded into a much larger parcel of land. Now, not only is there more parking there is one clear entrance and multiple exits, and a much larger area for cars to wrap around to go to the drive thru (since this place gets so, so, so, so busy in the morning). Plus, if you don't feel like waiting, Aroma Joe's is a good alternative. Staff are friendly, and constantly get orders correct.... I don't know what's up with some of these other reviews, I've been coming here for years and years and they constantly are working hard and getting things done right in the Alton DD. Stock is pretty good, sometimes they are out of something, but with the amount of traffic they get daily (in the summer months) that is expected. Haven't been inside the actual store in a few years, they've probably updated it, but from what I remember there was a good amount of seating and restrooms. My only complaint is that they need to fix a few of the broken sewers in the parking lot (they make a really loud CLANK! when anyone goes over them!) and need to put parking lines into the parking lot so people don't inadvertently use up two spaces! In closing though, they've done a great job trying to make this the best it can be for Alton.... and I really appreciate that, since I do come up here every year. I will continue to patronize this place, and continue to value it (as some others haven't). 5 stars for the Alton Dunkin. read more

This dunkin is awful I asked for a vanilla bean coolata with sugar plum syrup and was handed a coffee coolata twice. And when they handed me the vanilla bean and sugar plum it was in the coffee cup! Disgusting!! read more

I stop at this Dunk's location almost every day on my way to work. I am not a particularly punctual person, but I still need my coffee. I really appreciate how efficiently the line moves every morning, even when there is a long line. Staff has always been friendly and my orders are always correct. Thank you Alton Dunks! Waited today for 25 minutes for a cup of coffee! You essentially enter a "track" when ordering and there is no escape until you get to window. This DD in my experience is horrible! Every day I wait for at least 15 minutes and after today no more! I will learn to love Aroma Joes down the street! read more

I ordered 40 bucks worth of food and didn't get the 3 orders of bagel bites. I went back and asked if I could get the rest of the order, the lady took the recipe and said we will get those for you. Get the order and return home and she only gave me 2 of the orders. read more

This place is so mis managed. There is about 10 people on shift and its so frustrating and comical at the same time. Regardless of time of day or season it will take you 15plus minutes to get a coffee. today I ordered two meal combos and another sandwich. It took about 20 minutes to get the sandwiches. There were only two people in front of us. They forgot our hash browns and I went back for them and stated I didn't get the two hash browns, I sat and waited and she gave us one set. I give up and walked out in disgust. this place is always a let down and its the only local one. read more

Friends and I stopped in to this Dunkin today for drinks and food on our way home to Maine. The line inside reached to the door and there was only one person serving the public inside. My friend and I waited for 10 minutes or more in line. There were no more bagels or croissants and the donut selection was slim. We noticed a worker in the corner texting while we were waiting for our order. The staff was not happy, apologetic or accommodating. Our Coolattas were not frozen, as they were in the middle of switching machines. And to top it all off the coffee was the worst coffee I've ever had in my life. It wasn't burnt or anything simple, it just tasted off. The worst Dunkin experience I've ever had. read more

Poor service, the gentleman who took my order was very rude and made a remark about what I ordered, as it I wasn't aware that a black coffee was "kinda strong".... This is a normal stop for me on my trips north and I will be sure to never come back. read more
