I'm sure their donuts are delicious but the customer service was non existent literally. I wanted to purchase a large order for nurses week but the only option was the kiosk that wasn't working. When I attempted to get some assistance the two people behind the counter were on headsets and helping others which is great but once done ignored me. Hmmm oh well went down the street to a competitor was greeted and received what I needed in just a few minutes. I hope we can go back to human customer service instead of automated. I usually have a good experience here which is why I am giving them 2 extra stars. I've ordered 5 dozen donuts and got some kind of post Valentine's Day assortment. It was for 11 year olds so it worked. Today I was only one of two people in line. Thursday mid-morning. Not busy at all. I ordered a strawberry sprinkle donut, an old fashioned, and a vanilla coffee with cream. I specifically said no pumps of sugar. What I received was the strawberry donut (which had no sprinkles and not the biggest deal), a regular donut with nothing on it, and coffee that's so sweet I will be pouring it down the drain. Did the drive thru today and picked up a Boston cream donut for $1.09. They didn't have bavarian cream available to purchase. Your not so average donuts was denfinitely quite average for me, I definitely think you should give this place a go for your own personal experience, but you won't see me driving on the other side of town for Dunkin' Donuts. If I had to choose which donut was my favorite I would choose the chocolate donut with caramel drizzled on the top and pretzel bits... kind of like a salted caramel donut. I wish they would incorporate more pretzels in it, but it was my favorite one from the ones I have tried. Not gonna lie about the coffee though... they weren't lying, coffee is fresh, smooth, and tastes great. When you make a stop here, don't forget to grab you a cup of joe so you can experience their coffee. The other non-donut options were quite good, my husband "accidentally" gave me his breakfast sandwich which was the sweet black peppered bacon and it was quite good. I truly loved how there was tons of black pepper on the bacon and you're able to taste the black pepper... mmmm makes you want another one, there was a hint of sweetness which is really good and doesn't quite taste like maple bacon, it tastes more like bacon cooked in a little bit of sugar, last thing is that the slices are very thin, but they give you a good helping so you won't be disappointed. Lots of folks know that donuts are my favorite food. They are good anytime of the day. I have yet to find a Dunkin Donuts location in California that makes donuts as well as the locations in Boston and New York. Unfortunately, our Bakersfield store also falls short of what I've tasted in the Northeast. The Boston Creme donut of theirs is my favorite. It tastes good, but in a few bites it is gone. Their version is smaller than the mom & pop competitors in town. I also tried their Glazed French Cruller. Was surprised to find this one. Had never seen this choice in any other Dunkin location before. It tasted fine, but not as good as others in Bako. I am not a coffee drinker so no comment regarding that subject. With regards to service and cleanliness, this shop was above average in both areas. Well, Dunkin Donuts is a welcome addition to town even though they are not as good as the Northeast part of the country. Will be stopping by sporadically. You guys, I was raised west coast and I had never been to the east coast until recently. So when I saw we got a Dunkin Donuts, I was eager to try it and see what all the hype was about. It started with just donut purchases. They have really soft donuts that stay good and in stock most of the day! Are they the best donut I've ever had? No. But they're still pretty delicious and they have some flavors that other donut stores may not have. After a few visits I started to try the coffee drinks. They have a mock frappuccino style drink, which is actually really good and a way better price than starbucks. Because of that, I inevitably tried their iced coffee and i am hooked. Again, cheaper than starbucks and the mediums are pretty big here. They have a couple different flavors to choose from, but I usually go with French vanilla. It is my favorite little detour to take and treat myself to when I'm in the area or just really desperately need caffeine.. I would also like to add I am always in and out of the drive through SUPER fast and the employees are always really friendly and helpful when I want new suggestions. The service is also awful-- the people who look older than 16 do a really good job. If you are a walk in customer, you are treated as background noise, as a distraction from what they are listening and speaking to on their headsets. After waiting more than 5 minutes at counter (I was the only customer there) I continued to be ignored. 'Dunkin' is the epitome of banal, sterile, and unaccountable corporatism. It is a chain of drive-thru dispensaries of cold, tasteless doughnuts. Don't go there. I think before Dunkin Donuts arrival to Bakersfield, I held the title for the biggest fan in town. The first time I had the chance to indulge in some Dunkin was back in 2008 while on vacation in the Big Apple. Since then, I've been hooked. Give me a medium hot dark roast in the early morning and my day is going to be awesome. I've since taken up the hobby of collecting a mug from each state with a Dunkin Donuts. I'm currently sitting at 5 but hope to expand that collection soon! With that being said let's get into this location in Bakersfield, CA. I have to admit that after my first 2 visits I was deeply disappointed with the product. The donuts just didn't taste the same as my previous experiences. Maybe it's the water? Maybe it's the beginners blues? The last handful of visits my feelings have changed. Have you ever had one of those experiences where you bit into something and it takes you back in time? Maybe a childhood moment or a particular taste you haven't experienced in a while? Well the Boston Creme donut did that to me on a late Saturday evening. For those of you reading this from the Central San Joaquin Valley, I'm sure your familiar with a particular white/green van that til this day dishes out some amazing Mexican pastries. Well the Boston Creme donut tasted exactly like a childhood favorite of mine, the infamous chocolate cake from said van. I thought my taste buds might be playing tricks on me but my wife confirmed the similarities when she bit into her own Boston Creme. While the Boston Creme, currently and for the foreseeable future will be my current Dunkin fave, other tasty donuts include the chocolate glazed, blueberry glazed and a good ole glazed donut. Another highlight offered up by Dunkin is the bacon, egg, and cheese croissant. Very very tasty. Beats anything that the other national coffee chain seen on every other corner offers up. Customer service at this location has been pretty great throughout my multiple visits. Staff are always friendly, patient and helpful. Huge fan of the free coffee Tuesday promo ran all of October and November too! Overall, this Dunkin Donuts location is deserving of a solid 4 star review. The closest Dunkin is in Tehachapi so if your in Bakersfield looking for a tasty donut, and a delicious hot latte, pay this Dunkin a visit. read more

So it's here it's finally here! First, a disclosure... I may be the only person in law enforcement who doesn't like doughnuts. Yes, I know... I'm crazy. With that being said, I love carbs, and can appreciate a great doughnut, if one ever comes around. This place, unfortunately, did not convert me into a doughnut lover. They have their donuts right behind the counter for you to pick a choose from. Unfortunately they aren't covered and flies have easy access to them. This also hinders them from staying fresh. We didn't plan on trying the donuts. I wanted to try their drinks, which I've read are pretty delicious. My husband went for the hazelnut iced latte and I ordered a vanilla iced latte. The lady who took our ordered seemed new to the customer service world as she played with her cute curls, seemed confused pressing the buttons and forgot to read us our order, but then quickly remembered as we were paying. She seemed sweet and I'll give her an A for effort but she's definitely gotta work in taking ordered and learning the menu asap. As for our iced drinks... my husbands came out rather quickly but let's just say we don't recommend it. If you're a big caffeine person maybe it's for you but it tasted a bit burned with an odd after taste. We sat there waiting for my drink and long behold their machine broke down!! Just our luck. Thankfully the lady behind the counter decided to give us to donuts for the trouble. She also sneakily slipped in that we would be waiting five more minutes, something we didn't catch on to because of our excitement of free anything! Strawberry donut and heart shaped chocolate donut with cream filling. I'm a huge strawberry fan so I was excited to try that one first. The glaze definitely has the strawberry flavor but does not taste fresh and isn't all that impressive. The chocolate heart shape one was pretty alright. If I had to pick one I'd get that one. The cream fillings helps with the taste. So ten minutes passed and we still hadn't received my latte. Oh man I was ready to leave when my husband decided to remind them about it. They were finishing it up. For our troubles they upgraded the size. Unfortunately it wasn't that delicious. It tasted nothing like a vanilla latte. Had a weird packaged after taste as well. totally not worth the wait. I appreciate their freebies for our troubles and for that I can give them 3.5 stars. They all seem to lack customer service experience though. While we waited I was people watching them and it seemed they didn't entirely know what they were doing. I'll attribute that to them just opening up but I feel none of them had prior experience anywhere else which is unfortunate. I will definitely give this place another try... someday. Their breakfast items look promising and I hope they are. To sum this up: If you truly want to give this place a try give it a few weeks so they can settle in and fix their issues, and so their employees can gain some experience. read more

I love when we get new chains in Bakersfield. I was excited to hear that a Dunkin Donuts was being built, and having never been before, I set out to give them a try this weekend. A few things: 1. Service was fast & the employees were exceptionally polite, friendly and helpful. A+ on customer service! 2. I dislike that the donuts were not covered considering there was a fair amount of flies inside the store. It's the summertime. In Bakersfield. 3. My donut didn't taste fresh. If I had to guess I'd say it was a couple of days old. The coffee wasn't anything special, mine was even a bit watered down but I'm hoping that was just a fluke. 4. They just opened, employees are still learning and I understand that so I will definitely revisit in a few months and update my review. PS- the location is not centralized. We love this chain and glad it was added to the Bako scene. We love their coffee! Always have! The donuts we tried tasted like day olds. Another reviewer has a point that they should be covered. But, I have never seen any of the Dunkins cover their donuts so perhaps they have to maintain that standard. Standards could be changed though for the sake of no flies on the goodies! The staff was all over the place. Excitable and asking the same question over again. And still messing up a bit in the end. It's ok though. They are new and we will surely be back to try again. Drive Thru convenient. We went inside to check it all out though and there are several tables and it looked clean. Where you wait for your coffee at the end counter gets congested though especially as this is also the spot where you get sugar and stir sticks at another counter.
