It's like they invested in the remodel and passed the prices on to the customer. We've been going here since 5 points donuts closed in the 80s. There's been name changes here etc but the donuts remained consistent and always better than those well known chains. Service was always excellent and this was good too. The ambiance looked like they were trying to compete with the high dollar shops and that's not why most locals (or ones my age) come here for. We want quality, great prices, and good service, and a clean restaurant. Take back your decorations and give back the quality please. They're still delicious, but $2.00 for a smaller version of a cake donut is absurd. It's 4 days post purchase. The creamy vanilla flavor isn't the same as the State Fair stand. What do I love about nitro made ice cream? The smooth creamyness that other processes cannot replicate. Plus, it's fun to watch it being made. I am not sure if this is a locally owned establishment or a chain. If it's local, it would have been nice to see them use Lagomarcino's hot fudge. We were also disappointed with the strawberry flavoring. It tasted artificial. I hope to see better quality flavors in the future. Still happy to see this option around. The only other place I have come across one (besides our state fair) is in Southern California and that place was phenomenal.
